daemon didnt act without permission, she literally told them at the council she wants aemond and he acted on her instruction, we never saw his reply when they asked if they dont find aemond, just like we never saw him call his brother's son the heir for a day. it was implied them and can be implied now he never said what people accused him of but blamed him for it because of his reputation.

Emma D’arcy absolutely killed it, their acting was phenomenal.

Aegon killed the rat catchers and displayed their bodies to the public, he ruined the goodwill they built up and THATS why Otto is mad. He literally says this lol. Otto is playing the long game whereas Aegon just wants justice NOW. All Aegon had to do was stay his hand and just IMPRISON the Ratcatchers. “Interrogate” them until you find the right one or kill them all discreetly.

There is no “Aegon the Terrible”, the one you’re thinking of is probably “Aegon the Unworthy”. No, it’s not this one xD Though, the Dance of Dragons is one of the bloodiest wars in history. It’s safe to say neither Aegon nor Rhaenyra were remembered fondly for being responsible for it.

You guys have to understand that Daemon is the personification of the Targaryen' words: Fire and Blood. He is the closest thing to a real dragon (while not being one) that exists at this point. All he wants is fire and blood and he has this by fighting his wars. Rhaenyra, as good as she is, is not experienced in ruling or waging war. She NEEDS him and now he went away. At the same time, Daemon is unpredictable to the point of killing a kid and hurting her PR. Truly great story.

He didn't leave "the team" or go away. He just went out to do the job that he was supposed to do, he just did it early. He set off to Harrenhall to intimidate them into bending the knee, which he was already going to do anyway. He was just angry and left before he was going to at first.

It doesn't matter if ur on Rhaenyra's side or Daemon's side because him leaving is a big issue he's easily her strongest ally and him leaving makes her vulnerable her council starts to question her and also think its a lost cause without him mind you Daemon is the only reason she even has a strong claim and men follow her its also poetic that as soon has he leaves she's literally almost killed in her chambers its to show you how vulnerable she's become also the only thing keeping her ennemies at bay is because they know she has Daemon on her side and people Fear him.

Alicent tried to confied in her father and he didn't want to hear of it and when Alicents children needed her, she acted towards them in the only way she knew. She lost her mother and Otto was not a very affectionate man, so this trait has seemingly passed down. Very great writing and acting as usual. S-Tier show for sure!

He had a rocky relationship with his brother because he felt Viserys was afraid to spill fire and blood when necessary against foes but not Daemon. He has read the books of his great forefathers and did what they did with their might at their disposal; the dragons and when time comes, its the time to pay your enemies with fire and blood. I have no side in this war but i love might being on show when necessary and Daemon isnt afraid to hide behind who he truly is.

Both sides have really terrible characters and really good characters. While I'm definitely team Black Otto is the smartest on team green and he knows how to play the long game. He was 100 percent right in the conversation with Aegon and now team green is in trouble because Aegon and Criston are giving in to their impulsive behavior and not thinking rationally.

I really would’ve liked to have seen Otto as Rhae’s hand, under different circumstances where he supported her reign. She seems like a ruler who would do well listening to his advice, but who’s also strong with her own decisions as well & not easily manipulated or impulsive.

Otto is by far the smartest for team green, Aemond is the biggest threat to team black as is daemon to team green. I never understood why alicent and Otto were so surprised by the way Aegon was, and has acted as king. He is everything they molded and made him to be. They taught him nothing of the realm, how to be king or how to deal with ploys, tactics or speaking to the realm. He is in many ways still a child, rhaenyra was taught and molded some way how to act, speak and uphold the duties and honour of the realm. I love the part of the episode where as Otto is speaking to his grandson he can see how all his scheming, lies and depravity to get to where they are was a mistake. He saw it, I think some part of him realises that the problems that are now unfolding are his doing, Otto likes to be in control, he controls his daughter regularly and he tries with his grandchildren but doesn’t always succeed. I truly don’t believe he genuinely loves anyone, I think the only time I’ve seen Otto be nice was to helaena in season 1 at the dinner….but excited for the next episodes

This was the FIRST episode that I liked Otto because he FINALLY recognized his mistake by putting Aegon on the throne and now he has to live with it. 18:13 Were you not just listening when Rhaenyra screamed, "He was not afraid of you Daemon! He couldnt trust you! "? Daemon's a wildcard, but he knows the ways of war, whereass Otto is ALL strategy. Daemon knows more about the small folk, having trained up the gold cloaks. 46:14 Daeron Rargaryen wasnt in season 1 because by the time the 10 year jump hit he was serving as a squire in Old Towne.

I hate y'all have been going through people telling you who's team you should be on, and who you guys s and should not like. Y'all do you. I'm team Black all the way. But I do care for Helena, and what happened to her little boy, ticked me off. Sir Criston Cole is not an abused employee. He's the king of butthurt-ville. It's true that he's been wronged, but he has acted entirely out of spite after that.

Helaena was making jearherys's funeral shroud before he even died, as seen in episode 1. She just didn't know why she was makin' it till it was too late. When she told Aegon, 'Not the dragons, The Rats', she looked at Jearherys's bed right after saying. She also said, "They only want the boy" right before Aegon enters her chambers. She even gave the shroud she made for Jearherys to Alicent and said, 'This is for my boy'

Daemon did say he was in his way to Harrenhal to raise an army in Rhaenyra's name. Daemon has never wanted more it's just Daemon is incredibly volatile but if he believes in one thing is loyalty to his blood and loved ones. He loved Viserys, and he loves Rhaenyra, but from all Targaryens he was the one the most like a dragon.

Aside from how similar they look to a majority of the viewers, young Rhaenyra and older Rhaenyra also have the same mannerisms and swagger. Aegon the Unworthy is a hundred years from now I think. The new show they are doing (knight of a seven kingdoms) is some time after that aegon's reign

I think Aemond was looking for maternal solace from the brothel madam because he felt guilty about killing Luke, and the killers sent to find him killing his very young nephew instead, and he could not get any pity from his own mother (who was furious about Aemond's having killed Luke). Aemond's demeanor with the madam is totally that of a child craving comfort from his mother, not a young man wanting sexual pleasure.

Ive been saying this for the longest daemon and Otto r two side of the same coin. They are upset with their kings and queens because neither listen to them, they both want to be in control, and when they not in control they both over step. The only difference between them is that they use different tools to attack their enemies. Daemon uses the blade and otto has his tongue. Anyone else notice the parallel with rhaenyra calling out daemon manipulation in this episode like how Alicent confront Otto with his manipulation in episode 9. Criston plan actually almost worked if the white worm wasn’t there I feel rhaenyra would be dead. I also feel like the writers just want to make criston n alicent look in a bad light with how they r writing these characters. Looking forward to ur future videos guys

Otto recommended for Rhaenyra to marry Aegon actually. Viserys refused . Then, Rhaenyra offered to marry Jace to Helaena, and Alicent refused. Otto wasn't the hand at the time but I bet you he would have agreed. If Helaena and Jace had a son, then his line was effectively next in line. Otto might be self-serving but I think he also genuinely wanted a peaceful Westeros.

List of Aegons: Aegon I the Conqueror (1) Aegon II the Usurper (2) Aegon III the Unlucky Aegon IV the Unworthy (WOAT King) Aegon V the Unlikely As a note, this is crowned Aegons. Plenty of Prince Aegons who never became kings. And there's kings between the Aegons. Daenerys' father is Aerys the Mad. That's about 11 kings later from Aegon II.

Like, I try to keep my mind on what we see and know in the show only (even though I have read the books) but like, plenty of Kingsguard have supposedly had feelings or run-ins with members of the royal family and kept their oath. It is certainly complicated with Criston (especially early on with Rhaneyra in the first season) but I don't know how much his being a victim really allows him to get away with the things he has been doing ever since then, and it certainly doesn't make me feel any less queasy about he and Alicent's hypocrisy considering how much of their feelings about Rhaneyra boil down to her having children out of wedlock

I would say Otto was motivated to get his family on the royal line. As you can see, most of them marry within themselves, or a few houses (e.g., the Valyrions), and the Hightowers were not part of that rotation. I don't necessarily agree with how he did it, but he did it in the most peaceful way possible. Rhaenyra's mom's death and the fact that there was no male heir...was the smallest, most opportune time to make a move. Waiting for Rhaenyra's kids to marry one of the Hightower kids would be a fool's errand, especially when only the oldest matters when a line of succession is involved.

I think Rhaenyra should be on the throne ( and Rhenys is my fav) but I’m team Green for the chaos and fun. They are soooooooo fun to watch compared to team black

Someone should have told the show's creators that the protagonist doesn't have to be a holy hero, but they didn't. And they also forgot to tell them that a brutal clash of rich, dense images is ALWAYS preferable to a refined story about victims of circumstances. Even if in the first case all the characters are devils, scoundrels and ambiguous people who took a wrong turn. The Game of thrones has already trodden this road. Tywin, Jaime, Tyrion, Littlefinger, Stannis (our king), Dany, Theon, Euron - all are very far from the ideal personality, to put it mildly. And yet we either love them or love to hate them. She literally begged him to marry her he was about to leave and go back to pentos in episode 7 she told she could not face the greens alone and that she needed him if anybody’s being used it’s daemon and I’m not saying she shouldn’t be mad about the kid being killed but everything she said didn’t make any sense when she’s the one that wanted his help

I’m completely on Daemon side, he’s never wanted the crown. Notice how he says “my brothers crown” because ever since he found out about his death he’s always truly believed he was murdered and he wants revenge for it.

20:28 - He's technically RIGHT! I'm no fan of Sir Cristin Cole myself, but Alicent DID come onto him and he did have to comply despite his oath because Cole felt like she saved his life. She gave him a Royal Pardon and brought him back into the Queens Guard and literally saved his life. I can understand why someone would feel an obligation to her over thier White Cloack Oath. But non of that is to say that Cole isn't a Fascist Hypocrite who chooses to project his guilt onto other people, and who fails to take accountability for how he negatively impacts other people. I'm juss sayin, I feel ya on the point you were making about Cole's seeming obligation to Alicent over his Oath (as Hypocritical as it is).

You think anyone would dare to anything against them.The king chose his heir so this whish should have been respected. Rhaenyra as queen could easyly legitimase her sons if it needed to be. They both are legitimate for different reason she was named her that is everything she has that is all her claim but she was named heir before Aegon was born so when male was born and Viserys never repeat vows people got confuse and through years many lords that swore to her died and their sons swore nothing to Rhaenyra and some of them just don't want women to boos them around it is Westeros after all and Aegon claim he is a man all symbols of legitimacy belong to him he was anointed even by religion people believe in in Kings Landing , he was crowned in front of people in capital not Rhaenyra ,Targaryen custom always chose men over women (not women over men like Martells do) Visenya Targaryen do not take the throne Aegon did even tho she was older same with Rhaena she did not take the trone Jaehaerys did so they both have a lot of reasons to believe they are right that;s why it is such a mess and Viserys made this mess because he was too weak of a king .
