Love your edit of “House of the Dragon” season 1 with this song and how you included Daenerys in it at the end 🥰 It always breaks my heart when I see daemon watching Laena tell Vhagar to burn her & everything Rhaenyra, Daemon etc had to go through 😭
People dislike Alicent because they aren't used to have a female character not being one-dimensional in the GOT universe (the original show had few morally gray female characters) She is more than a one-dimensional villain...she actually has reasons for being the way she is. I am team Black, but goodness maybe I would behave like Alicent if I was in her position...her father brainwashed her into thinking her children are in danger and she takes her frustration on Rhaenyra who is given everything without trying. Alicent is jealous that Viserys love his daughter despite her flaws while she needed to sacrifice herself to please her dad, and she repeats the SAME pattern with her children. Alicent is the perfect example of the circle of abuse...many people break it but others continue it.

What? I don't disagree with most of what you said but what you do mean about one-dimensional female characters. So many of the women in GoT are incredibly complex. Alicent is not more complex then Cersei or Brienne , heck even Gilly is pretty complex in terms of character development.

@@eleosde7045 Not that GOT women are flat in any way yet in my opinion Alicent is multi-dimensional. Cersei, Daenerys and all the other leads in GOT have limited point of views and most of them are morally inclined (they are marvelously complex no doubt) Yet Alicent plays the field as a concerned mother, a conflicted friend, a daughter, a wife and a Queen who counts the cost to her people. The situation demands and molds her to be more than one-dimensional. It's fascinatingly abstruse in my opinion, but hey! Love em all! :)

Actually Alicent was good at politics. She rulled while the king was ill. Yes with help from her father and other but still she was the Queen. So i really like that moment when Rhaenys said "Have you ever imagined yourself on the Iron throne?". Alicent could rule alone or even with nyra, be her adviser. Her character is my fav. Her transformation... Everything about her is really interesting, while the show is a bit boring.

I very much agree, Alicent has the 'will to play and win the game' and the woman is playing the game as a Queen, as a mother, as a wife, a daughter and also a friend, she is truly a complex character!
