Hotpoint Electronic 1000 De Luxe 9535 - Non Colourfast Cotton 40°

Ғылым және технология

Introducing the September 1990 Hotpoint Electronic 1000 De Luxe 9535. Introduced May 1990, the 9535 is a warmed over 9534 with the main differences being the new flush door, name change from Electronic 1000 'Plus' as the 9530 and 9534 were titled to 'Electronic 1000 De Luxe, change from the use of ITCL numbering for programmes to new symbols with temperatures, programme 3 has been deleted (White Nylon 60) and Quick Wash now has it's own point on the dial. Previously the Quick Wash cycle would be activated by selecting Programme 6 with Half Load and Economy Wash.
The machine was collected from a shop nearby who had uplifted it on the sale of a new washing machine and they offered it to me. It's had a new pecker clip to hold the pecker unit to the motor, new cold water valve, door trim, wiring from timer to door lock microswitch and a mains lead. I wouldnt have considered saving the machine but the fact that all the trims were intact and it's a generally clean machine meant I felt like I should save it. Choice well made.

My grandparents had the 800 version of this machine it used to petrify me as a child when it would spin. It died in 2012 when the spider gave out on a long spin. Brilliant washing machine from what I can remember

I had a similar machine to this. I really liked it. Final spin wasn’t long though so I used to spin it again. Perfect. Great short cycle times.

My aunt and uncle had this very washing machine with the matching vented tumble dryer. It lasted for about 15 years, good job on keeping this one going and not sending it to the scrap heap. Environmentalists may call out on efficiency, but ultimately it is us who are preserving our machines that do better for the environment vs the whiney waste culture wollys. My Hotpoint is on its 12th year, still going after one pump replacement.😊

Long post alert! You have no idea how jealous I am that you have this machine and how happy I am that I've seen it on here. My Nan and Grandad had a 9535 in polar white from 1990-2007 (if I'd of had my way it they would of had it longer and I'd of more than likely of inherited it off them after they passed away and been using it still to this day) This model is a couple of months older than theres as they got it on 21 November 1990 (I know this because Grandad wrote it in the instruction manual which I still have) it was the first automatic they had and my Grandad banned my Nan from using it as he used to say she was too heavy handed with it and he would make her get up early to either wash her nightie or change the bed because he had to be the first one in the street to have the washing out and he never used to sort loads out either. Everything and anything went in and as a kid I used to help Grandad do the washing and I used to say to him what programme do you want it on Grandad. He would always say 40 the one near the 60 and the 90 and he always would wipe out the drawer and drum everytime he used it and would get me to do it when I was there. I always used to ask him why the red light never came on and only the orange light would be on and he used to say me that the red light only came on when I wasn't there (he just never used rinse hold). I've watched the video 3 times now and just listening to the sounds of the drum filling when you switched it on, the sound of the drum turning during the washing phase and the start of the spin cycle when it the pump comes on, the sound of the motor on slow spin and the launch sound when it goes onto fast spin just takes me back to my childhood round my Nan and Grandad's so thank you for sharing and reliving my childhood!

You may just need to buy a new rubber seal, check if the seal on your wm is cracked.

You should re-film this cycle with the 'Economy Wash' option selected, be interesting to see how much less time the wash takes without the machine heating the water. And you could even film it a third time by disconnecting the hot inlet so that only cold water enters the machine and it has to heat its own water from scratch - how much *longer* would the wash take, I wonder? Another ten or fifteen minutes, perhaps.
