They managed to show us the ending of the game from the very beginning and none of us realized. That’s impressive.

The saddest part of Hotline Miami 2's plot is knowing that all the pieces were there for the characters to peace everything together. Had one of them been able to see beyond themselves and find a way to work together, the plot may never have happened. That whole idea of not putting the pieces together until its too late permeates beyond this game and into reality. You can have all the intelligence, all the foreknowledge and yet the worst can still transpire. Feels bad man.

Is more about how the world ends without anyone noticing it: piecies are there for anyone to pick, but no one is there to pick them they all caught up in their life. Also the ending was the right call

This really proves to me that games are a proper medium of story telling. Not the cinematic kind but as it’s own thing. More games should strive to be like hotline Miami. In storytelling. In music. In gameplay. What a fucking ride.

I had a similar experience but as soon as I saw the palm trees getting blown to the side I instantly knew what was happening and I just sat there and listened to the music for a solid minute and a half

The point is that all the violence didn't matter because they all would've gotten nuked anyways. The best possible ending one can have here is the writer, who got to have some nice time with his family before everything went tits up. It was all hopeless...

That's the result of the violence. All these cool guys like hurting other people and they are cool beacuse they are so different and unusual, but that's the only thing they leave behind themselves - destruction. That's what this game is about. Like other people.

??? That’s not the message. This wasn’t the result of a couple of psychos. This was the result of war, political ideologies clashing, organised crime and mobs intertwined with opposing governments. This was the result of so much more and the only thing you took out of it was violence results to destruction? The game doesn’t exactly have an exact message. It’s just a story with a multitude of themes. Anyways.

I found it so eerie when beating the game and realizing the main menu was the ending of the game.

I had a hard time in 2022. This game and others were the ones that kept me in the mood. The time I first opened Hotline Miami 2 and heard this song I will never forget.

What i love about this theme is that it actually makes me feel emotions, it makes me question if i really enjoy hurting people (no pun intended), it makes me feel like i'm doing something wrong, it makes me feel like i need to change but i don't know how to... I love this soundtrack.

This is perfect, wonderous. The calm music, everything calm. Skip ahead a bit and.. Just.. It just feels.. It just feels like the persimmon air takes you, nothing at all pit calmness. Thank you, whoever made this. You have truly helped me.

Yes, this takes place during I'm pretty sure 1991? Regardless; It isn't Dec. 26, so USSR still is here. And the result of what people did started nuclear warfare, and then the atom bombs struck, and then... There was nothing. Just pure silence. Nothing remained, no soul. Just an abyss of nuclear energy, left to rot..

there’s an option to literally just make the hud transparent, i cant remember where it is but its called “hud opacity” in video settings or something
