Hotfoot: Metatarsalgia in Cyclists

Спорт

Hotfoot, or metatarsalgia is an unpleasant and sometimes disabling condition that can affect cyclists. The symptoms vary, and can include pain, burning, tingling and numbness in the region of the toes. This condition can be stubborn to treat, and it is best to deal with it sooner rather than later, before the involved nerves become chronically thickened, inflamed and scarred. Here we take a deep dive into the problem and potential solutions.

This is the BEST high-level explanation of hotfoot that I have been able to find on the internet and I have reviewed a lot of material on the subject. I now feel equipped to better pursue solutions and intelligently communicate with bike fitters, equipment suppliers and medical professionals.

thank you, i guessed it right, my saddle is high enough that when i come to stop my feet dont completely touch the ground so i lean on my left forefoot and that's how the pain started, i have to lower my saddle, thanks again

I suffer a lot from foot pain/numbness. I have some Cobra insoles and have wanted to place the metatarsal bottom. However, when I try it, it is extremely uncomfortable underneath my foot. I put it a little behind the ball of the foot. Any advise or ideas?

I think you have 2 options. Either keep exploring with different positioning of the metatarsal dome, or look for a smaller metatarsal dome on line. You may need to get a different brand. They are freely available on sites such as Amazon. Good Luck!
