Topper Harley is one of the USA greatest (Movie) Pilots, not putting the expense of replacing the Jet on to the American Taxpayers.

This is a better movie about the military than either of the Top Gun movies. All service members, give a thumbs up.

Why? US Navy owns most of the carrier based aircraft. Other countries also used to have aircraft as part of army and navy, not a separate force.

Never noticed when I watched this years ago, but they used Folland Gnats for the film, a long-obsolete 1950s British trainer/fighter that was never operated by the Americans and was most definitely never a naval aircraft. I guess there were a lot of them cheaply for rent! Such a great film and Admiral Benson is one of the funniest characters ever in film.

Better than the new version that's in the cinemas now.
