Can confirm. My boyfriend and I bought pho kits this weekend and were so excited to try them out. They came in a cute little brown box that you prepare in and eat out of and it smelled amazing. Wrong. It tasted like straight up licorice.. absolutely no other flavor what so ever. Even the little seasoning packet they give you had absolutely no flavor. It was just pure heat. We've had pho before and this was not how it is supposed to taste, not even close. Waste of money:( We HATE wasting food but we were on vacation and had nothing on hand that we could have added to help salvage it, so into the bin it went.

Yes, fresh or thicker noodles always take double or triple the cook time suggested on the packaging. The other day I made homemade ramen using a noodle I've never tried before. Directions said to boil for 4 minutes. It took 12m to get the noodles chewy & springy - if not it would have been so hard! 😆
