Our videographer served as our combat photographer and videographer in the SEAL Teams for many years. We’re so thrilled to be working with him again. We’ve recently gotten some new video equipment so I think you’ll be in for a treat with our new episodes getting released soon. Be sure to subscribe!

I switched to Lithium batteries about 18 months ago, they’re great with one exception. Like your cordless tools if the temp drops to 32 or below they will not charge. Campers for the most part (and travel trailers even worse) have the issue that the battery compartment is vented and not insulated. I had to close off the vent and insulate the cabinet to help keep that compartment warmer during winter camping. Host makes great units, nice rig!

This is great input, thank you. Currently exploring up in Wyoming where it was 10 degrees out this morning! So we'll be sure to do this mod. Thanks for your patriotism and support.

Great video! This helps a ton! Do you have any videos of the process for loading/unloading the camper from the bed of the truck? It seems like it would be tricky to get everything lined up just perfectly to back in? Thanks for sharing your videos.

Hi and glad you enjoy our walk around! We actually thought the same thing regarding loading and unloading but as long as you set a routine it’s not that bad and can even be done in a short amount of time by yourself. Thanks for the idea, we will record a video of this and share. 👍

Great video quick question didn’t you have any concerns with your departure angle? For me one of the Advantages of having a truck camper is being able to go into trails and in areas that I wouldn’t be able to go if I was towing

Great question and yes we did. Our need is/ was to have a base station to run our courses from. These are locations that are austere in nature but that we could reasonably access with a rig such as this. The F450’s wheelbase, weight, and dually wheels already limited where we could take it so we thought the Mammoth would be a good match. We bring multiple off-road rigs (modified Jeeps, Land Rovers, dirtbikes, side-by-sides) to our courses so the base station becomes the hub. Our initial plan was actually to get a 5th wheel and we rented one for a month to try it out; taking it into the Uintas. We loved the space but there were too many limitations with parking and taking sharper turns on the trail, so the big truck camper became our balanced compromise. Thanks for the input, we love sharing outdoor adventures and having conversations with others that do as well.

Hi there - nice rig. I'm looking at the same set up but only pulling two jetskis. Did you have to put airbags or do anything to the F450 due to weight?

Hello and thanks! As you know the F450 is a beast as is, and despite our big mods on our 4x4’s we wanted to leave this brand new truck as is the best we could. That being said when the massive Host was in the back with everything we were carrying it did sag a bit, so we installed 2 things; Airlift 7500XL bags and Torklift lower stable loads. The combo is unbeatable and we love the results. If you get airbags, ensure you run separate air lines to each side so you can independently control the PSI in each, helps a ton on long stretches with cross winds (a single line system would actually work against you; pushing air from one side to the other and make things worse). We also opted to get an ARB dual compressor and air tank so we can now run air tools, inflate tires, etc. lastly the stableloads allows you to engage your overflow lead spring early which helps with handling and again reduces sag. Either product can work for you, the combo is unbeatable. Stableloads offers upper and lower, we’d rec getting the lower first as we found it’s more effective. You may not need the uppers (we didn’t). Hope this helps, thanks for reaching out and enjoy the adventure. Jet skis are so much fun!!
