Such a soft and gentle voice inquiring. Such a profound, rarely encountered wisdom responding. I found nothing SHOCKING only life and death affirming. I am no stranger to death myself. I am no stranger to grief. I invite both in regularly for tea and have very deep, meaningful, and life affirming conversations with which include heart wrenching, guttural sobs, interrupted by belly laughter which leaves me blissfully drained allowing love to rush in. Thank you both for shining light into the darkness of ignorance.

I've watched all of Stephen's videos now and every single one is a powerful reminder of who humanity is and MY personal/cultural struggle to deny death. His wisdom has helped me to change my relationship not only with death but with LIFE. But to find someone to talk with about this on these terms is mostly impossible--particularly someone who is older--I am 70 years old. In fact my age group is so wildly in DENIAL that I can have this discussion with younger people in a much more honest fashion. I would love to ask Stephen about the "language" of death--the "last" fight; the "ultimate" battle; the "struggle" against death.

Thank you for this Amrit. I've been traveling and needed to break up the program and am at the end. I find myself tearful and heartbroken. I have tried to talk about Stephen's message with my dear husband and it breaks me to know he refuses to hear anything of this message. Often, I feel completely alone after listening to Stephen's podcast and then am brought back to some level of balance by reading all the commentary. I know that some others can "see" where we are. I will watch more of your programs and see what you have in store.

On choosing not to suffer: 1. Many people cannot afford to suffer. When one is not able to work, there is no money for necessities, much less medication and healthcare. 2. Many people have no one they can rely on to care for them because possible caregivers have to work.

Regarding the 22m30s mark on how the religious fare when they are confronted with their own death.. I recommend the Tyler Cowen's interview with Glenn Loury at the 58m mark!

Such a delicate subject that is verboten in our day to day society. The buddhists do it so much better than us, once again another wonderful interview.

What's so hard about dying is pain. PAIN, PAIN, PAIN. Call me crazy, but if I have the ability to alleviate that at the end of my life, I want that right.
