I went with the Bezgar hm102. 3650 brushless 3300kv , 50a ESC, metal chassis. There's a coupon for 50$ on Amazon and u get a free battery just use the promotion.

I just got one and it seriously has a ridiculous amount of torque for how lightweight it is. Steering is definitely the weak point here, as you pointed out. High center of gravity doesn't help either. I'm not sure a stronger steering servo would help too much - I think the entire steering linkage needs a redesign. It's just too sloppy out of the box with all the plastic, so the moment you turn in one direction at high speed, the sloppiness results in oversteer and probably spin-out. Then again, this is a budget R/C and we knew that going in. I gave it a little toe-in and replaced the shocks with oil-filled ones from a Hosim 9155, and that didn't really help much - it still spins out at almost any speed on a light dirt/gravel road. However, it does quite well on heavy off-road dirt or light grass, especially with the oil-filled shocks. Also, I took the rear wing off (easy to do - just two screws). I might see if I can somehow mount the wing upside down on the front of the chassis to try and create some downforce on the front wheels and maybe loosen up the front shocks to try and keep it grounded during take-off.

yeah I got the car as well… Sucked in by the sponsors these KZread professional salespeople… The car is toy grade nothing is adjustable it's just garbage. The electronics are the worst imaginable. I thought the car would be just okay I didn't think anything special but what I actually have is worse than I thought it would be much worse… Good luck with yours I don't know what to do with mine. I just got the xo7 (v2) and It is freaking awesome , it's the best thing Hosim has came out with, im guessing they made the steering better, yeah it's $200 but it's worth it over buying a cheaper Hosim product and trying to make it as good as the X07 (the V2 atleast) the shocks have oil in them with Bladder caps, so i think that makes them oil filled shocks (filled with oil with rubber seals) they do seem kinds stiff, but work well for landings.

It's definitely a trip on 3s lol I use 2s for driving in the street and it still wanders around like it's drunk! I didn't quite hit 40mph but I managed to get 37.9mph on a 3s so I'm thinking you might actually be able to hit 40 if you could find a way to keep it in a straight line. I think 42mph is a bit optimistic but time will tell!

I totally agree with you Chris. If it were $120- 130 then I’d give it a pass, but $180! No way! I also agree that if they want to make a budget car that can compete against an Arrma granite or Redcat piranha . Then just install oil shocks. Their price would be a little more bearable. ZD racing sells their 1/10 4x4 Thunder for less than this and it comes with a brushless motor and oil filled shocks. Come on Hosim you got this,now, just do it! Very awesome review brother!😝💯💯💯👊🏼🍻😊

The arrma granite goes like 18mph stock, and does about 21 with a 2s. I'd prefer the xo7 for superior speed, brushless motor, and higher capacity esc

Those are clearly oil filled shocks. I double checked online and you can see the cap at the top of the shock😂. Plus I have the truck version and it definitely came with oil shocks. It was actually $125 after taxes too. But yea I don’t mean to be a meathead but those are definitely oil shocks not the best but still not friction shocks.

Im about to review it and it has everything beefed up. 32° steel gears. This is a 1/12

Still need part to fix it.😢 Don't have a lot of luck at skate parks, need to slow myself.

update I actually have the car and its toy grade… All the things that look adjustable or just a bunch of crap useless… The motor will overheat… The electronics are the worst you can imagine and the resolution is disgusting. Don't drive it on the street this thing can't do a straight line if it prayed for it… But I like your video because in the end you told the truth these Chinese people fooled everyone and most KZread channels are all lying just sponsoring the product leading us as goats to the slaughter… The Chinese gave us the cheapest toy grade product they could possibly imagine add a medium price meaning is way overpriced… And that's by honest review. I'm trying to get my money back

A used 1/16 e-revo is 100-150 dollars or 200 at the most and traxxas parts are at most rc hobby shops. I don't see the appeal for this at that high of a price

The tires cause the bad handling. I put some tall crawler tires on it and what a difference straight as aroww

Lame when you can get a brushed traxxas rustler for $170. and that brushed rc is faster and if allot more durable

Yeeh the problem with these hosim cars that they are a ripoff of some other cars. Also has absolutely terrible wheel geometry that you can't fix also they gettnig mroe expensive so you got less of a bang for your bucks. I wanted to buy one since i'm not too well off but i rater buy a used traxxas rustler since this car is basically a copy of that car as bodystyle goes and the underbody also quite similar to it with a different layout inside. * plus it's 249.99 now which where i live is 90 000 HUF which just 9000 less then a traxxas rustler which is 99 000 huf on sale (274 usd) This isn't come close to the traxxes even if peoples hating traxxas so the traxxas woth that 25 dollar more and you get a lot better car for the money.

These cars are garbage money pits. Brass pinon and alloy spur with no way to set gear mesh. Constantly shredding no matter what grease. I have a Q901, Q903, and a 9125. This is my 2nd summer with them, I spend more time replacing gears than playing with them. Wanted to love them, but the are faulty by design.

A garbage XLF badged as a Hosim. I was foolish enough to buy 2 XLF products and both were garbage. They each broke promptly and often and were barely controllable on the road surface and even quite squirrelly off-road. Turns out the one that is similar in design to what you have here was manufactured with shocks that varied in rod length. Zero support from manufacturer. The other Hosim badged products I have are solid.
