Hosim RC X07 Brushless 1/10th Stadium Truck

Review of the Hosim X-07. After going through 3 Hyper Go cars and being wow’d by the toughness of Hosim’s model they sent me this 1/10th to review. Honestly it felt a lot like driving a 4x4 Rustler for the first time albeit a little bit slower. It comes in around $179.99 but watch for coupons because they’re around quite often.
You can find the car here - www.amazon.com/Hosim-Brushles...
Aluminum Shocks here - www.amazon.com/Hosim-Metal-Sh...
NOTE - I AM NOT ENDORSED BY ANY MANUFACTURER! I CALL IT LIKE I SEE IT! If I were to receive something from a company you’d still get an honest reaction. I love RC and hope to attract as many people to the hobby as I can. Wouldn’t be doing anyone any favors if I endorsed junk. (watch my Remoking Thunder or HPI King Crawler if ya want the proof!)

I have this one. The ESC can take a 2s or 3s. Comes with a 2s in the box, you can run a 3s to get much better performance. Great little car.

Right? Thing moves! I was surprised myself. I'm through my first set of tires which were a little soft but this thing has a lot of punch 👊!

I do not know about x07 , but I have Q905 and the build quality of parts is better than any hpi or traxxas I've owned. The a arm has no forward or backward play , and it handles so well because of these small details

Yeah, funny, thing didn't feel much slower on grass than the road! I think nice tires and upgrading to aluminum shocks would really serve this one well. And really nice that Hosim has all their parts!

Yeah there's a bunch and I must confess things can get pretty pricey for street tires or foams but this link is a good street tread with the right adapter and have good traction and last a good while. There's two per pack so you'll need 4. Let me know if you want something slicker. You could always run something like Hoons with adapters but they wear quick and get pricey. Best of luck! Cheers and thanks for the question! www.amazon.com/Duratrax-SpeedTreads-Speedhawk-Tires-Mounted/dp/B07QN1VMLT/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?adgrpid=1342505378089227&hvadid=83906858459604&hvbmt=bb&hvdev=m&hvlocphy=74495&hvnetw=o&hvqmt=b&hvtargid=kwd-83907613850233%3Aloc-190&hydadcr=26680_11663349&keywords=2wd+traxxas+rustler+tires&qid=1677996863&sr=8-3 P.S. sometimes you'll see 2wd because the fronts are smaller and you'd run a different set. You can run these front and rear. I have them on my rustler VXL 4x4 right now. Cheers!

I bet that motor runs hot.

You know I don't remember it specifically getting hot that day. I did wear those tires pretty fast and subsequently had higher temperatures on the new tires because they had a much better grip and larger surface area so they made that motor work, but out of the box I didn't do a temp read. But yes. I'd agree it heats up pretty quick, I just don't know how high it gets. I'll put a gun on it next time and check that out. Thanks for the question!

do you still own this? does it eat the gears up?

  • @redvikinghobbies

I do but I haven't run it enough to chew the gears up. I plan on changing the tires and shocks a bit for a little more control cause it's a fun car but about the third time out my tires were smoked. As for the shocks I just prefer more tuning but it's a good rig if you can get it for the right price. I'm doing a review now on the Arrma Vorteks Boost that is 199 in the US and I gotta say for the price I'm really happy with it. It's a 4x2 stadium truck with a 4x4 option and is brushed, not as fast as this, but it's tough and upgradeable. If you haven't subbed you might want to see this one. But the Hosim X-07 was mad quick for a budget rc out of the box! Thanks for the question. If I do wind up grinding gears I'll follow up with you! Thanks for your question!

@@redvikinghobbies I have their 9125, Q901 and Q903. they use this cheap aluminum alloy in the spur gears and the teeth end up shredding off and or breaking off. they are a money pit if you run them daily like I do all they do is just shred gears and there's no way to set gear mesh. all I see are positive videos on this truck and it looks amazing for the money and they're offering me a discount because of the problems I've had with these other three but it just seems like the same problems going to keep happening.

@@hayleythehunter I don't disagree with you. The metal that sone of these companies use is usually quite cheap. I've seen some budget companies like Wltoys and Rlaarlo, step up the quality but other than their little gps basher this is the only other Hosim product I have. Watch, next pack out I'll tear them up. I don't doubt what you're saying one bit but they have followed up with me and provided more support than the larger companies do so thats impressed me. Granted I wouldn't wanna be swapping gears often but I can't say I haven't done it on the major brands too. Maybe I just get a bit longer out of them but you do pay for it. Gonna have to wait and see. I've tore up plenty of Bezgar/Haiboxing gears but can't say I haven't been able to get the parts I need. I'll definitely follow up!

tires are supposed to be rubber… They're just not going to work if there PVC plastic… How disappointing. The car's looking more expensive every moment because the quality of the components is being reduced. So they're making a huge profit

From their description "Off-road rubber tires material is made of high quality PVC material, soft and elastic can be adjusted based on the road;" We typically think of pvc as hard as that of pvc pipe and the like but with plasticizer they can make it soft. It's used in everything from shoes and purses to tires and floor mats. These tires for clarity don't feel like hard pvc. In your hands they'd be indistinguishable from rubber tires. Most frequently rubber is made from recycled rubbers that were originally real rubber trees. You'll find recycled rubber being used more frequently in everything and 60% of real tires are made from synthetic rubber. Tires from companies like Bridgestone have rubber tree tires and synthetic rubber tires but you can't tell the difference. It just takes too much time to wait for real rubber trees to regrow so recycled and synthetics are extremely popular. And there's no chance of running out currently so recycled tires go back in to just about everything and there's a slew of chemicals used in this process to create millions of products. I wasn't surprised at all to read these were pvc because polyvinyl chloride is the 3rd most popular plastic. The first two polyethylene and polypropylene are used everywhere on our cars. A set of Proline tires with M2 compound made from Interco in the US from real rubber since 1982 will run you 50 bucks a pair which is half the cost of the vehicle but is worth it in the long run for people who run their cars a lot but would put the price of this vehicle out of reach for a Hosim consumer. I burnt mine up on the first run as you can see and finished them off on the third run and switched to my Rustler tires. The tires weren't my biggest concern on this car actually. It's the 3kg servo. Hasn't gone out yet but will for sure if I had time to run it more. But that's just budget rc cars. Also last checked these were $169 but often are 20% off or $20 dollars off. That's when I'd recommend grabbing one if ever because of how quick the car is. But comparatively speaking at that price range I'd probably opt for an Arrma Boost product. Definitely better tires and awesome hobby platform in all 3 offerings. Good luck and thanks for your question!
