a tip, at 8:08 the black triangular lever on the left of the lens is a preview lever, just toggle it, and the shutter opens, like in all lf lenses, you don't have to use B or T modes.

I love my Linhof 617s Technorama. 6x17 is an exquisite format.👍🏆

Yes indeed! I was tempted to buy the Linhof, having used a 612PC for a while, I loved it, but opted for the horseman mainly for the possibility of changing lens, film back, and using ground glass, mid roll. The rise and fall options sealed the deal for me. I believe Linhof offers the rise/fall option but you need to get an uber rare adapter

@@Fabsinthewild I limit my use of the Linhof to natural and rural subject (which is limitless!). I ascribe to the One Camera, One lens, One film philosophy which is quite liberating for me.(I can get paralysed by options). Enjoy your Horseman, they make outstanding cameras.👍📷

6x17 is a great format. Nice demo putting it together but your title suggests something different. I own a Linhof 617s III - what makes you think the Horseman is the better camera ?

Horseman has a few advantages imo, can apply rise/fall, can use ground glass for each shot, can swap lens after every shot, ergonomic are overall better, can swap film backs, can use 3 different formats for the back, bubble levels are in the body and not in the finder. One advantage of the Linhof could be to able to accept 220 but hard to find nowadays.

Those are some nice features! I guess the 617 was produced a long time ago. In the last versions, they did offer a dark slide and a rise/fall option. I have a ground glass back but rarely use it. The 3 finders are very accurate - I always use a bigger external bubble or my iphone to straighten the image. The Linhof is build like a tank and I really like using it as a separate 617 camera. If I want a different format, I will take a 4x5 or Hassy :) Please share some work and experience using it - it is always nice to see how other people work toward their pics. Thanks !

It’s an amazing system, got it on eBay, a mint set boxed. I believe they still can be ordered, with a wait time of about 6 months to make them, but best to check with them directly, or through B&H

Can this mount 612 or 69 back ?

Photographs?????? All I see is a lot of GAS. Great sexy camera with a reputation for being almost impossible to shoot a bad photo with it but I don’t see yours mate.

This is a video about the camera. I use it for personal work, very intimate, which I have really not much interest in sharing. I shoot this for me, because I enjoy it. I started shooting professionally 30 years ago, so naturally I have lots of gear.
