Jammy is the OG pony club mum! ‘Now sweetie, I’ll be right over here watching you, you’ll be fine. Stop sniveling now, what will the other ponies think? ‘ Winnie: ‘But mummy, they are all so much older than me and there are boys!’

Those blips when the flashbacks come don't define you for me Meg. It's how triumphant you were at Badminton with Dee and Jam, how you handled your fears and nerves and had a huge achievement despite your doubts. That truly is your defining moment.

Aw Meg, you should not feel bad at all for wanting to have your own privacy to get through your bad memories and those awful intrusive thoughts. Take any and all time you need in order to help your own mental health. PTSD is awful by itself, and I can't imagine also having to deal with so much self doubt while riding. You are an amazing rider and while I know hearing these words from a stranger might not mean as much: You are brave and you can get through and past anything you set your mind to. 💕

This may be one of my favorite video from the BTS of the series so far. I was giggling so much the first few minutes of Simon’s commentary and camera skills 😂 and the moment I stopped, you all entered your MUSICAL 🎶 Era 😆😆 Proud of you for pushing through any nerves etc., especially with this being Winnie’s first time doing anything like this! Both of your girls looked lovely! Fabulous rides! Can’t wait to see everything and hear all of the tuition when SUKO comes out!

Also, thank you for sharing your journey and vulnerability with us so far- it has been genuinely helpful and inspiring! However, it is YOUR journey and you are the one having to process all of this and heal. So whatever you need to do to work through it is what you should do. If sharing that part is no longer healthy or helpful for you then you shouldn’t anymore. ❤

You've been amazing, Meg, sharing your struggles but I think it's equally helpful and healthy to share that you're making this boundary for yourself and giving yourself space to figure things out without a camera on you. That's just as important as the raw moments! It's not just that you don't owe anyone those emotional moments but also you will, I think, gain wisdom off camera that you will be able to share later. ❤️ It's a really healthy plan and you shouldn't feel even a bit bad about it. You will still be helping others even if your journey looks different to your audience ❤️ And I keep thinking about Jammy's separation anxiety and bit of destination addiction and now Winnie seems to be picking up a lot of the same thing and I wonder if you have watched any of Warwick Schiller's videos on dealing with that? I really think they might help. I've seen him help mares that were even worse off panicking to get back to other horses, as well as those who were just rushing a bit on the trail, etc. because their mind was elsewhere. I really get the feeling you'd like his gentle, thoughtful methods and your girls would benefit from them as well. Maybe you might find something there that would help? He has a lot of free content on KZread and a really good new book, The Principals of Training.

Completely get your confidence issues and not wanting them broadcast. It took me 55 years to get back on a horse after I was hit by a car head on at 15 (horse broke both front legs). Bought a 20 year old Welsh cob on my 70th birthday - I for sure have confidence issues - plus Justice is a spooky lad and has already dumped me twice. Both times during lessons - decided to take a break from lessons and just work on ourselves for 3 months - it’s like a rollercoaster - some days I’m flying high and somedays I have huge butterflies. Don’t have an answer except I will not give up Good luck Meg - I think you’re doing marvelous

I think 99.9% of riders grapple with confidence and you've been more than generous with what you've offered. No need to share more if you don't want to. You've already helped so much. Put yourself first. I really, really, REALLY want you to know that I never, ever, EVER consider the confidence challenges that you've experienced to be a prevailing quality of yours. When I think of you, I primarily think of a person who is an amazing role model in terms of your work ethic, attitude, lovely riding, kind, sympathetic training, that you are an ethical but serious competitor, a kind and fun person in general and more recently, a very clever breeder (even with a problem child like Bear!). I know several people who started riding and eventing later in life and I'm always pushing them to your channel (and to be fair the channels of the other girls too) because of your excellent horsemanship and riding, which I must say, was well displayed in this vlog. Beautiful riding and you've done an outstanding job producing these 2 gorgeous girls , as you have with all your ponies. This is not a sport for the easily discouraged or the faint of heart and you demonstrate every day that you belong here.

i left a yard because my instructor defined me by my PTSD (I had a very wooly mammoth, I was completely overhorsed, and a few bucks and broncs and injuries later I could barely come off the lunge without sobbing), 2 years on a more suitable horse and I was essentially unshakeable. However, my instructor never saw me as anything but the crying 35yr old wo couldn't trot without a panic attack. Anyway, the moral of my schpiel - I think it's extremely healthy for you to keep your struggles off camera. There are too many internet trainers, psychs etc who will jam all sorts of things in your head that are wholly unhelpful, confusing etc. Take your time, it's YOURS to deal with at the end and while help is good, too much isn't. And reliving those moments in your head as well as on your screen, even less helpful. I think you're doing the right thing for yourself, your horses and your career.

Meg, I’m proud of you. If there’s one thing I’ve learned in life, it’s that if you focus too much on something you give it life. You feed it. There is a difference between suppressing something in an unhealthy way (which you are not doing) and simply not allowing something to control you. You have allowed the public to see your vulnerability to help others and now you are making a reasonable decision to control it in private. The less you focus on it, the less it can control you.

Boundaries are so important. Reliving things each time you re-watch to edit is not beneficial to you. Its great of you to have shared (and doubtless some viewers have found it helpful) BUT you have to put yourself first and work through the challanges that are presenting and you should not feel under pressure to share any further if it doesn't help you move forward. You ride beautifully and your ponies are a credit to your skill and consistent training. ❤ Keep taking everything step by step - you are doing amazing 😊😊x

Now come on Meg, we all know your defining moment was discovering the legend that is PetesEats💁🏻‍♀️ Jokes aside, do whatever you feel will be best for you. While everyone of course appreciates your honesty and you being so open about everything, I'm sure everyone will also equally understand that you need to set boundaries and keep some things more private. This is your healing journey, nobody elses🫶 Also, Whinnie is going to be so special. Everytime we see you riding her, you can see the improvements and her natural potential. Really excited for her ridden career. She'll be star⭐️

Meg, first of all congratulations on qualifying for Badminton next year! How exciting. You are so incredibly brave for sharing with us how you’ve been feeling, and I can’t thank you enough as it’s been a big part of me feeling ready to get back to riding after a hairy accident around 5 years ago. Your healing journey is SO important, and if that means stepping away for time to yourself? Go for it!! At the end of the day you do what you need to do and if anything, that just makes us respect you even more because not a lot of people would establish those boundaries. Keep doing what you’re doing Meg!!

Meg, an observation - with Addie you rode with total confidence and lightness, even though it’s the first time you’ve ridden her. With absolutely no context but the vlog, I feel that you have so much emotional investment in your ponies you judge yourself much more harshly than anyone else would. It’s easy to say from afar I admit but give yourself some grace…go back to the guidance of Mr Iceland - there’s horsey-human wisdom there.

Jam is going incredibly at the moment - she just looks so good. And little Winnie-Woo! Such potential. Completely get you wanting to keep a little privacy around the confidence recovery - you’ve been so open about it but I think you’re right, sometimes you have to project a certain air of confidence before you can start believing in it, and watching yourself break down in detail whilst editing really can’t help that. But instead there are some epic moments already to look back on. Without any shade to the others, Jammy definitely looked the most solid and capable in the jumping today.

Megan I just want you to know that however you may struggle with your confidence, that your not alone! Actually, you were the one that inspired me to go cross country schooling after a scary fall. I may have only trotted up and down some banks and over some logs on a schoolmaster but for me this was huge. And guess what I was telling myself the whole time: if Megan can do it after an even scarier fall and get in the top 10 at Badminton, then I can do it too! ❤

Meg, you ride absolutely beautifully. Jam looks amazing as always and I think Winnie is going to be really special. Your thoughts on sharing vulnerable moments makes absolute sense. You mustn't feel as if you need to share everything. I think the constant editing of these moments must make the worries and feelings linger and in a way, increase them so do what you need to do to help yourself, not what you think people need to see. Your wellbeing must come first xx

  • @nibindringiel
    @nibindringiel10 ай бұрын

Saying that you're still working through stuff should be enough sharing to still be helpful. It shows anyone struggling with similar experiences that it takes time to get past it and that's ok. We don't need the details that you don't feel like sharing. And it doesn't define your even if you do share everything, it's just one thing about you. I can never talk about things as I work through them. I am very open about past struggles, but I need to sort things out in my head before I can share. It's not that I'm keeping secrets, it's just that my mind processes things best without worrying about others opinions before I have fully understood my own. Sharing is brave and helpful, but knowing where to set boundries to protect yourself is also brave and helpful for young viewers to see you do :)

Meg don’t be sorry at all. We all understand and every rider even the best have had confidence issues or other things they struggle with, we appreciate you always keeping it real and showing us these things and if you feel you don’t want to share some things it’s understandable! Don’t feel you have to share every single detail to make your viewers happy you do what’s good for you and what makes you happy. Your are a good rider Meg and this will take time to get over, I recently had a huge fall on my top horse and we were going for a long stride and I don’t think my horse thought we were gonna make it but we ended up crashing into a 1.15 upright and both ended up on the ground. I feel horrible because he got injured and this could of happened to anyone. You work so hard and I look up to you so much no matter what, we’re all here for you and support you. If I could help with anything I could suggest a mindset coach? They’re really good getting you to be more confident in yourself as for saying you can do this instead of you can’t do this because you can :) your not alone Meg and no one’s judging you, take your time and remember to ride for fun!

Hi Meg, Sometimes we need to face our fears and our emotions in private, you need some time to explore your issues and decide what is best for yourself and your future. You have given us so much fun and educational experience’s in riding over the years, that we are forever grateful. I suffer from major confidence issues and anxiety, my pony is a rescue horse so she comes with a lot of past issues and I’m not the most experienced of riders so we have a lot to work to do ,so I understand some of what you’re experiencing but there is always more to the story. Take some time, enjoy your life and if you decide to come back we will all still be here for you. I wish you all the best and take care of yourself.x

I'm a new subscriber (as in I found your channel yesterday and subscribed today new lmao) so I'm in the process of catching up. I wanted to say though, that I really appreciate your vulnerability, but I respect and admire your decision to try and push yourself forward! I was an incredibly depressed teenager and had a similar realization that I couldn't live in that and I needed to "fake it till I made it" lol. It sounds cheesy, but like all things, it requires effort, lots and lots of effort, and it fricken works! I also think a lot of people take vulnerability too far in the sense that they let themselves stay stuck in that state, so I appreciate that you want to move past it. I wish you oodles and oodles of confidence in the near future! I also know absolutely nothing about horse riding, but you seem great, and at the very least, with all of this great effort you put into your love of this, you will be fuckin excellent one day!

I totally get the mindset issues Meg - mine are dressage not jumping but it's still so tough. You really should see a mindset coach, do some journalling etc to try and help with it rather than just tackling them and not managing to make much progress

Our little Winnie has grown up! First of all, PTSD or confidence issues or whatever you want to call it IS a real thing. Anyone who has had something like this knows exactly what it feels like. You have nothing to defend yourself for or about. How you choose to deal (off camera or on) is something only you can determine. Since you are in the spotlight, some of it is bound to show up on camera though. Do not stress over it. You are not defined by the fall. You are defined by the journey after. Keep that in mind. You've struggled and succeeded. You are bringing Winnie along beautifully and Jam is a superstar. You are the one who produced these lovely girls. Keep that in mind and try to have some fun. All of us who follow you have been down this road in one way or another. You are preaching to the choir! Hang in there, Meg. We love you, Hobbit and your ponies. Thanks for sharing with us even when it is hard.

It might be somewhere asked already but I live in Canada and I’m wondering where we can watch the series? I didn’t even realize they were on season 3 and I’d love to watch the first 2! Love the behind the scenes Meg!

It’s not the defining thing at all. I had big falls from my horses as well and takes time. You are an amazing rider

You are so inspiring! After I had a nasty fall, you were the one who made me think "just because it happened, doesn't mean you shouldn't try again" you have encouraged me to keep jumping and riding! love you Meg xx

Your so good at riding. Im so pleased you say your off camera when times are tough. I feel watching it, you are your own harsh critic and its not a step forward. Live your best life and congrats on your latest win. Hope to see that vlog!!!!
