It’s hard to not want someone to ride your horse the way you ride them or wish them to be ridden. Oh Jesse!!! You did fantastic with “the Dad” trying to orchestrate EVERYthing.. 😁 .. it’s not easy getting on someone’s upper level horse, cause first a rider has to find their sweet spot of balance on a horse with much different gaits than you’re used to! Then once you’re “in the pocket” of their rhythm, you can then figure out the aids the horse knows via his training! I think you did a marvelous job!! KUDOS!!

In two years, Emporio has changed physically and become more confident. He is a powerful stallion successfully trained for dressage. Matt and Jesse are excellent equestrians but they have different riding styles, goals and personalities. Matt, perfectionist, gives a lot of information to Jesse who enjoys the experience with more informality and his usual good humour (the spurs... hilarious!!!). Nevertheless, Jesse did a great job. Schooling is a nightmare for me sometimes as I don't process all of the verbal commands and directions very well or fast enough, and then berate myself for every little mistake - stressful! You're trying to listen and remember your right and left and remember where E is and sometimes it's total overwhelm. It's also stressful to be out of your comfort zone and subject to even constructive criticism and I think you did really, really well Jesse. Totally get both of you. Matt is just trying to get the best out of Jesse and Emporio. It’s impossible to process all those instructions at the same time tho. Feel for you Jesse. Well-ridden! If you rode him for a few days you’d be perfect together ❤

My last comment… This was very helpful to watch. The instruction and rider has helped me with several areas of my own riding. Your stallion is absolutely amazing to watch perfect or not . Those lead changes, lovely he seemed to have fun ! I’d Love to see him running free through his pasture, watching my horse running “free will” …it’s like heaven !

It is really interesting watching how Emporio reacts to a rider with different riding than you. You can really see how he tries to understand Jesse and how his body reacts to him in another way than he does to you. Him and you are like a buttered machene together because you know each other so well. The small mistakes are less obvious and now you can really see how well Emporio is ridden because he really wants to understand Jesse and he's also doing a really good job considering riding with a double bridle and spurs is not his typical choice of tack. Thank you for this great video, it's really entertaining and educading for a rider like me who shares a lot of similarities to the way Jesse rides.

Emperio is an Awesome Stallion. Smart and cooperative. Jesse and Matt have different styles but both accomplished riders. Matt's German heritage comes out in his self disciplined style which is a good thing. Jesse is so easy going. Don't think I could have finished the ride.

@@audreymaqks I have tried riding high level educated horses and also stallions before, but not a combination of the two. Although i think Emporio is a super rolemodel for his breed and gender and seems easier to handle than most stallions, i can still see the tecnicalities of riding a horse like this with such defined and fine signals and such power, Matt and Jesse both do a great job riding him as i know it's not as easy as it looks.

This is exactly what the pet psychic said about Emporio. That he wants to be a top dressage horse. Although he said he wants to stay with Matt etc quality horse always tries their hardest for who ever they get on- as long as they are treated with love and respect. Good job Jesse. I wish we get to see you ride Etro, hopefully we can mute Matt for that ride lol

I think both your styles are highly diffrent. Matt trains Emporio in one way and he probably wants Jesse to experience him fully to see how much he has learned. But what Matt dosen't realyze is that it dosen't matter, the ride gets to tecnical and Jesse zones out. He plans his ride by feeling, Matt plans his ride by performance. That dosen't mean that Jesse isn't a skilled rider, more so that he has to get a feel of the horse first and then decide what his plan for the ride is. Matt is very skilled and is very diciplined and I understand that he dosen't see a training session in the arena as a joyride. But I also think he needs to lower his expectations a bit, espesically when someone with a whole other riding style rides his horses. But great work, Jesse, you are a really great rider and I think riding Emporio was great for you even though it's not your typical way of riding. And Matt Emporio is stunning! You have done great work with him! Next time with Etro let him have a feel first and then correct him so you don't over do it and I think Jesse has more training then people give him credit for, he just don't ride his horses in that style and that is ok. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

It's so different getting on a horse like Emporio. A lot of people ride horses that are well schooled but the jump to a powerful competition horse is like going from a Fiesta to a Ferrari. It's intimidating!!! What I love about all their horses is the temperament they've nurtured in them. They're all such sweet animals. I'd love to see Jesse on Etro but I'd also love to see Matt ride Gaio to see what Gaio can actual do seeing as he was well trained for Bull Fighting.

Its really nice to see the difference between Jesse and Matt, they are both amazing in their own right. You can really feel the professionalism from Matt, that he is really focused on so many things at once, how it looks and how to perfect things. Where Jesse is more natural and relaxed, for him the Horse doesn’t have to obey him, for him its a dance between them both. He wants something from the horse, but the horse needs to feel itself too and feel free. I can for sure understand how Jesse is feeling, because this is so different from his own style and with his adhd its really hard to get a lot of information at once, when its not something you are used to or comfortable with. But he did amazing and they are both really amazing.

Jesse = the patience of a Saint Matt - God bless him - is the epitome of a ‘Mother Hen’ Jesse might not have all the technical detail down pat, but neither did the likes of Hester or Dujardin in the early days. That took many years to hone. But what all 3 have in common is a very natural affinity with horses. A lot of riders have the technical prowess but the magic really comes from the strong relationship and bond one has with their horses. Something many overlook. Jesse has that gift.

Riding a different horse AND such a large and strong horse as Emporio had to have been a great challenge. I was exhausted for you Jesse. It might have been helpful to have had a verbal tutorial ahead of riding. Or is it more effective while you’re riding? It seemed a lot of information at one time, and when you ride the movement is so quick you don’t really register the change. My brain would have been concentrating on staying on and not tipping over and falling off. But I’m not a professional at all. But I’m sure the thought went through his mind. Well done Jesse. You’d did very well. A lot to take in. Emporio did well too. Matt, I compliment you on your patience and knowledge in your teaching. You both have such a great sense of humor. I enjoy it very much. Yes, it will be interesting to see Jesse ride Etro.

I think it is great to see different riders experience horses in a different way. Your styles are so different. Appreciate the kindness you give to your horses. Every day I get on the back of my PRE, I am filled with happiness. The more people raise the profile of these animals beyond racing and bull fighting & rodeos (all horrible things) as loving giving creatures the better.
