Horse Shelter Heroes - Episode 44 - Oct 29 - Nov 5

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

In this episode-
We are an open door shelter, willing to take in any horse that needs help or cannot be cared for by the owner anymore. Three beautiful horses were surrendered to us and we can’t wait to find them new and amazing homes.
Something very special and romantic happened over the weekend to two of our employees… You’ll want to see this!
Our awesome veterinarian did the 1 week checkup for the horses that came in from auction last month.
We received a very incredible gift for the horses to play with up in quarantine from one of our fans ordering it on our Amazon Wish List. The detangler we got from the Amazon wish list was much appreciated as we used it on Elektra's knotted mane before she got evaluated by Jessie, our Head Trainer.
We celebrated our awesome Office Manager, Sarah, for her three year anniversary working here at Horse Plus Humane Society! Sarah is a very valuable part of our organization and we greatly appreciate all that she does.
Cassie was evaluated by our Jessie, and she really enjoyed playing with the big ball!
And there’s a whole lot more!
Please support our rescuing and sheltering efforts! No gift is too small to help, and every gift is really appreciated!

I have rescued and fostered cats and they too will often get sick about a week after they're rescued. Just like the horses often do. I'm so glad you're there for them. Thanks for putting your heart on the line for each horse no matter what the outcome will be.

@@cherylschumaker1366 Yes. I had a mare who was allergic to flies and would scratch herself bald. We tried everything and when an "old wife" told me about downy, Memory's hair finally grew in. After six years we finally found out she was a bay. I hate Downy for clothes, but swear by it for horses.

Yeah, it makes sense. At the auction there's a ton of sick horses, illness spreads super fast and all the horses are stressed out, meaning their immune system is at rock bottom. I think I saw discharge from the noses of a couple horses in the last video when they came in. No surprise they've come down with a cold by now. They're in good hands now and properly cared for, I'm sure they'll come around. 😊

Hey I have seen a plastic shoe for horses. I may be way off on what they can do but I noticed they they can heal or help with many conditions. Like bring up the back of the hoof and helping grow rotten hoofs have you seen then most likely you have but I see how some of you rescues could use something like that if it really works. Love you all and I do understand the last act of kindness is needed. I wish I could help you guys out but they put me out to pasture years ago. I think Sarah would be an amazing new leader/manager once you have to step down. I personally would love to work at a place like yours, but I don't honestly know the first thing to go about doing it. I have alot of horse knowledge but admit I still have tons to learn so thats another downside cause no one is willing to actually teach and train anymore. Its either you know the know how now or get lost.

I wish I could do something to help, I’m as worn out as those poor horses lol.... man can be real cruel to one another and worse towards animals when it comes to money. I’m retired now and waiting out this Covid mess, in the mean time I’m getting my camper ready for the road and waiting on my doctors to clear me fit to travel. I’d love to visit when I start my road trip maybe I can do some sort of awareness program while I’m on the road? Any hoots you all take care and stay safe.

Hello, I just started watching your videos. I love all animals but never really been a horse person. I even worked at stables when I was twelve but other than that, I’m not around horses. That was when I was twelve, I’m fifty seven now! Wow right?! But I have to say, I’m so glad there are people like you!! All of you!! You are all amazing people!! Thank you for for the work you do!! I appreciate you and glad you do it! I used to work for Bureau of Land Management (the real BLM! Hope that doesn’t offend!). They would rescue horses all the time. Even go to court regarding their care or lack there of. It was very eye opening! So I know that what you do is so important and want you to know, it’s appreciated. Thank you, thank you for your hard work!!! God bless! And congratulations to the happy couple! May you have a long and happy life together! My husband and I have been together for twenty four years!! Five boys! It’s been fun! Again, thank you and God bless! ❤️💜💚
