Being an avid oil painter myself, I can personally attest to how incredibly detailed Chuck's works are... I can't seem to make anywhere close do as detailed of strokes, even with the exact same brush. Thank you so much for the inspiration and the incredible videos

Thank you as well Torsten. This comment actually gets me really excited because that's more proof that the brush we use isn't all that important. It just takes practice to learn how to move and organize the paint to our liking. And maybe more so it takes time discovering what works best for ourselves,, I like this brush I use a lot which took a long time to find, but I also hold my brush a certain way that maybe different for others. It's all personal and it all takes time and devotion to discover. Anyways just some thoughts 🙌

Amasing Chuck! A really majestic work! It has the effect of being 3D the details are so fine. It actually takes one on a stroll through the grasslands and coming across this horse. Brilliant!!!
After a long day, a Chuck Black video before I go to bed. Perfect.
SO.REALISTIC. I love how you use your angled brush so skillfully! You are on another level of oil painting! That texture of the horse's hair...! and the sunlight hitting on his back is something! Love this so much! 👍👍👍👍👍💖

You paint so beautifully in oil paintings that I can feel all the feathers of the horse.Also, herbs on the ground look extremely realistic.If I had enough money, I would like to buy this painting.

Oi Chuck that is a great horse and landscape you´re painting in this demo. But you should go and see how wonderfull Christine Lawrence from Australia is painting just like you in a awesome photograpic realistic way? She has at least 40 years more experience in this craft and she was a teacher as well.

Chuck what type brush are you using ? Lovely work just love watching every minute of it.
You sir are talented. And I want you to know that
Hi Chuck ! I love how realistically your paintings look. Did you start out your art journey with color or black and white first ? In terms of colors
@chuckblackart
3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Nathan. Well my Mom has my first finger painting framed from back when😅 and I did use color a bit, but ya I was more drawn to black and white mediums and a kid because that seemed easier. I started to explore color mediums like colored pencils pastels and paints when I was a teenager. Sort of dropped black and white stuff in my early 20's

@@chuckblackart Awww' that's sweet of your mother to do ! And I've slowly been experimenting more with colored media, to bring more life into my drawings. Have you used this medium called Golden Crackle Paste before ? because it's an interesting type of white paint that cracks as it dries
Can't believe it only took you a little more than 12 minutes to create this! You are a fast painter. lol.
Wow
Happy Holidays Chuck ... I was wondering in the NEW YEAR can you show us how to sketch, with plain pencil or charcoal? It would be greatly appreciated if you can. I am a new person to arts, I would like to try some pencil art first, then painting. I know you are mainly with acrylics, Paints etc. and have wonderful work with those.

Thanks Glenn, honestly I would refer you to the other youtube artists out there who have made videos on sketching. To me drawing is pretty straightforward and I agree with a lot of the good videos that are already out there.

Hey chuck, I am so glad to discover your channel. I have a question. How many paintings do you finish in one month on average?
@chuckblackart

On a good month I'll do one larger painting and three or 4 small, like plein air works. That's what I'll be shooting for this next year anyways :) Glad to have you here thanks!

@@chuckblackart I am so glad that you answered my question. You are a great teacher and artist.
What pencil do you make the sketch with? All the time I do sketching with pencil, it appears through the paint afterwards ):

I'm curious, do you edit out long pauses and breaks, when you do a time-lapse. Also, do you paint from photos for value and color relationships?

Looong breaks yes, I'm in and out of the cameras view a lot. I use my own photos and yes especially in this case with the horses. I spent a day with them taking photos

Hey Chuck, just wondering...are you leaning toward moving away from acrylics these days? Just seems like a shift in what has been posted lately. Thanks!
@chuckblackart
3 жыл бұрын
Ya I definitely seem to be. When I started this whole endeavor I simply wanted to figure out what works best for what I wanted to accomplish, so I never married myself to any one thing. I've been having more of an interest in oils lately because there seems to be more possibilities to learn and that intrigues me. Thank you! And welcome
Spirit?
BRO CAN YOU TEACH ME .. DRAWING LESSONS ❤🥺
As a horse lover its sad to hear you’ll be going back to your normal landscapes. With your horse portraits there is no word on earth to describe your incredible talent. I do understand wildlife paintings would sell easier, but maybe you’ll do some with wild horses?
@chuckblackart
3 жыл бұрын
Well I've got a little secret it's not exactly my last so I've got another lined up for friend in Feb of their horse. A very close up portrait, that will give me a lot to talk about in a video. For me, I really want to be able to have a personal connection with the art I create. I'll to certain custom projects for friends from time to time like this, but what drives me the most is painting from personal experience and passion. And a lot of times wildlife is the subject, but that could be anything as well and I'm sure will be at some point. 😁 Thank you Susan
The horse head imo let's this down before people hate yes I no fa about Painting
Love the painting but not the music.
