I’ve always wondered what determines the amount of nails used to tack the shoe and why (often times, but not always) a different amount are used on one side than the other.

A couple of questions: Why three nails on one side of the hoof and only two on the other? What's the purpose of the twist you do with the hammer claw? Thanks!

While I am not sure about the amount but the twist at the end is clipping the nails so less is sticking out of the hoof
im curious to know do they do all 4 at one time or only one at a time?
I’ve seen this before, where the toe looks chopped off and not rasped to the shoe? Is there a reason?
