This is a dominance behavior. She’s not demanding him to breed but rather is over sensitive from the hormonal stress and also was aggressively protecting the gypsy from gelding getting to close to the gypsy. She bonded to this gypsy?

With respect, My mare Zara has been with me for nearly 15 years and I know her very well indeed. One of the first things I did when I took her on as a 7 year-old was to write to all 7 previous owners and ask about her history and behaviour. I know that she has always wanted her own foal and every male horse that she has come into direct contact with has received Zara's direct attention as a possible breeding mate. She has a strong affinity with all foals and small ponies that she has spent time with and it is a personal regret of mine that good circumstances for breeding never arose in her younger life. This is dominance display, they want to proove themselves who is more dominant, my mare did that when she got reunited with my gelding but she already had a foal, luckily they had strong bond and would sniff very long time nuzzling each other, but unlike if she just leaves she did in fact became sassy, eventually delivering weak kick, she did that to proove him and a donkey gelding she is dominating the, not beacuse she wants to protect her foal, since foal now plays with a donkey who is adult but same size as foal 😂😂😂😂😂

I feel more sorry for the gelding. he has no idea why she is so demanding and upset with him. ;)
