Horror Snake Den Transformation | You Have Never Seen Pine Needles So Thick!

Ойын-сауық

You won't believe how thick the stuff on the ground is on this job. This property is owner by one of my subscribers who contacted my via email. He works away from home on mine sites, for weeks at a time, and doesn't have the time or energy to do his garden. I went around to have a look at the job, and we came to a friendly arrangement to clean up the whole area. Luckily, we didn't find any snakes, but we did see a large black spider 😮😣. The job took us around 4 - 5 hours to complete, and we took out a total of 3 trailer loads of mostly green waste.
Workers on this job: George (long pants) & Brent (shorts).

FAQ's:
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in 4 years on the job.
Q: Where are you located?
A: We are from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘🦘🦘.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: We use mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs!
Q: What happened to Nick?
A: Nick was offered a full-time position at his other job as a Political admin!
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of cans?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I'm not really sure to be honest, maybe something to do with space & maintenance, but either way, it really is poor heat efficiency!
Q: Why are you cutting so close to your employee!
A: I'm not cutting too close to my workers, they are standing too close to where I am working! All of my workers have been told numerous times about standing too close to the tools and about the hazards involved!
Q: Why do your workers do all the lifting and carrying?
A: Basically, they are employed to carry things and I pay them well to do the job required.
Q: You work so well together, how do you do it?
A: That's the magic of editing. My workers are basically given instructions on what to do, I just edit it all out, so the videos look seamless!

That brought back so many memories. This was how our yard was when I was a kid. We would spend our days raking pine needles in to as high a wall as we could. Take several pine cones especially the spikey unopened ones and lob them at each other over our well constructed walls. Of course this was when kids actually went outside and played, so many, many, moons ago.

Bloody hell mate. I've heard of the phrase " What lies beneath", but I never expected taps, offcuts, scrap timber and tin, and general house junk that seems to collect 'unnoticed' in most backyards. Talk about tripping hazards, sticking hazards (nails, screws etc) and slipping hazards ( you could bust your ankle on one of them pine cones) But you guys come through - as you always do. They come to you shaggy and daggy, but leave looking nice ....in a trice. Good one fellas.

That was a back-breaker with all that raking!! Glad there were no snakes amongst all that trash. Good job as always. According to the map you live at about 43 degrees South. I live now at about 33 degrees North in central Georgia USA. Our little town was where a man named Jim Fowler first convinced farmers in the 1930's to start planting pines as a cash crop since cotton was no longer profitable. (Although some farmers still plant cotton on a small scale. At first they laughed at him, but now pines are everywhere! In fact, the Long Leaf Pines are also profitable as mulch as well a timber with needles 10-12 inches long. They are raked by hand, baled & used around shrubs & gardens in the Spring & Fall. Recently they have started using a machine which rolls them into round bales like hay. It is called "pine straw". So tree farmers get some profit for many years before the pines are large enough to be cut for timber.

Excellent job, people! Enjoyed watching your work ethic and thoroughness of the finished cleanup. Lots of good fire pits (controlled, of course). One tiny suggestion is that the cones make great embers for outdoor cooking. Glad I stumbled across it and watched Thumbs up.

This probably was one of the more physical workouts for Both but more so for Brent. It was definitely a clean up for the homeowners.
