Hey man, wonderful masterpiece do you have have the original script or a physical copy yet a book you made as for this short film to relay on? I would love to read it!

I think it's sad... he goes from having to sacrifice his personal life to care for his mom. As soon as he's free from that burden he's thrown into caring for his abused girlfriend and giving up college. When he turns around to go back inside it signifies he's willing to give up his life to make his loved ones happy.

Ending was so sad. The mother still recognizes Eugene as his son that's why she doesn't eat him. 😢

The way she touches his cheeks... That is the only part where she looks like a mother. Actually I think if some human attributes were left in her and if she loved her son, then she could have sacrificed herself so as to free her son to live his own life

Such a sad film. Both were trapped, immured against their will with a monster. One was an abusive partner and the other a vampire and, let's be honest, are they really dissimilar? Both were abusing their "loved one", (though if you are abusing someone, you don't really love them, in my opinion) and were feeding off of them. One emotionally and spiritually, while the other almost literally. The film also speaks of co-dependency, Eugene lived to care for his mother. His whole life was dedicated to her, from his choice of employment to restricting his own social life and trying to find victims for his mother's bloody appetite. Without his mother he had no life and without him she'd not survive for very long. Also, the vampire design was really good, rather than the urbane aristocratic creatures people tend to think of, or the edgy, gothy, counter culture vampires of more recent times, they took the creature back to its feral, monstrous, roots. Anyway, sorry to waffle on. Brilliant film, loved it.

I like your thougts on vampires, the design in this film and their cultural roots. The original vampire looked much more like a zombie both in appereance and action.

@@jamesforsyth1701 I agree 100%. Vampires are presented as being almost aspirational creatures but, once upon a time, they were once treated with fear and revulsion. I blame Bela Lugosi. Bring back real vampires!

Scariest part of the film was them calling him into the office with HR and showing him the camera footage of him swiping that blood. Getting called into the office is always blood curdling

This is exactly what happens to kids of a home in which the parent is addicted. They send out their kids to do heineous things to bring them the lifeline (drugs). They make them work from toddlerhood. They make the kids connect with street people and shady people. Etc.

what a short... it's like watching a whole movie in just 19mins... kudos

Oh, I loved so much this one! I was hoping for that "finally free" ending and escaping together, but that turn of events just blew me off. I liked that he stayed with her though, his love for both his mom and the girl were altruistic enough to go repeat all this hellish cycle just bc he loves them. It broke my heart somehow, because that little spark of hope for them died quickly, so sad. Amazing acting, I adored the dynamics of Egene and Mary, there was an unspoken intimacy between them and the actors created a fantastic atmosphere when they were together.

At first I thought there was something wrong with my TV and I kept turning it up LOL. This has to be one of the best of your videos I've seen lately! It had me completely submerged and intrigued I could not take my eyes off the screen for one single second! The actors were incredible! Wow is all I have to say! I feel really bad for Eugene... he said "it's finally over" and now his Crush has this bloodlust as well... I would love to see a part 2 of this video and how he ends up taking care of her now!

I love that they tackle serious issues but they aren't tacky about it and they aren't picking sides. They address issues that no one wants to talk about and I love that they talk about them through these videos.

Brilliant short. The make up was outstanding on mum, some films can't do a vampire like that.great job hope to see me from you.

Sometimes life throws us in an endless cycle until you can make the hardest of choices.

This was really enjoyable to watch. The story is so well-written and well-developed it almost felt like a feature length film instead of just 19 minutes. The story has a nice, slow build-up and the jump-scare is very well placed 😱 The acting is very convincing and even though the cast is small, each character makes a significant mark on the story. Good job 👍🏾

i connected the mother with addictions that people may face or with traumas and their own demons. Really good job

Man that ending was heart wrenching on so many levels... You can tell that he was was thinking a combination of so close and the exits right there when he looked to the right...

Aw man just when he got rid of one burden bam heres another for ya. Pretty acurate if i say so.

His Ma didn't sling that plate at the wall because she didn't want him going out.... it was for neglecting to serve gravy with his dinner, those Yorkshire puds were criminally dry, that was the true horror. ;D

Conscian🙋🏽‍♀️ as someone who was the primary caregiver for both of my parents (Alzheimers, my Dad & Chronic Asthma Mumz) this really hit home..U will do ANYTHING 2 help them😌. Excellent everything💯. ALTER u already know 🥰

Great story, well acted, and great FX makeup on the mother. I love that you showed little snippets without revealing too much, and yet the story is very easy to follow. Bravo!

Alter never fails to satisfy me with these horror shorts. Far better than many 2-hour horror films

Terrifying & thought provoking, the director did a great job making this horror short, showing the terrors of vampirism with the devotion for a loved one. The pace was quite slow but I thought that added to the painful monotony of the immurement. The creature effects were fantastic & horrific. An enjoyable story with great actors, well done.

There's a lot of hard work and talent went into this riveting film, and I've got a feeling that this powerhouse of a team has got a lot more where this came from.

Wow, this was a really incredible scary film. Lots of twists and turns to it. I jumped when he was having dinner with his mom and she threw something at the wall. I had my headset on and it truly scared me. The film was well done and perfect acting by all.

The glimpse of freedom he had just before he turned back inside was heartbreaking

Very satisfying to eventually see the monster. Thanx!

I love it. Simple. Not too dark that I can’t see anything. The message was delivered beautifully. Scary in it’s own way.

I jumped out of my skin TWICE! That’s the first time that has happened since my son introduced me to this channel 6 weeks ago. I think I watched at least 30 of these super fucking AWESOME shorts since then. I love this channel! 💖🌸💖

I remember watching this, ir STARTING TO, 2 yrs ago when I used ti binge this channel like an addict. For whatever reason I never ever saw the conclusion of it & though I had conscious memory of that being the case, subconsciously I must've known because after recently watching it on a friend's firestick & then pausing it & coming back only to find out that YT now resets you back to an intro page when you dont log in, or are away too long, I had to attempt to find it again, but couldnt remember the clips title, only the thumbnail. Well, it was worth it. Two years later Im sure I better understand the secondary meaning better than if I'd seen it two years prior.

A beautiful short film...though I know some people who goes thru this curse in real life. It is really difficult to help someone like Eugene...to help him is to be, in some way, dragged into his predicament. I hope that if there are people with the same problem like him, I wish them well and I wish that God give them strength and heart to continue helping others while sacrificing their own needs and feelings.

This one's the best of all the shorts alter has made,I almost felt like it's been a 1/2 hours I've been watching this movie,well done.

That was Ace!!!! Mother was amazing!! Her room was horrible and the manky piano! The whole place stank!!

Wow!! Very well done. 👏🏽. I like how you showed both Mary and Eugene were holding on to unhealthy relationships , knowing they would lead to destruction ( Mary with her boyfriend and Eugene with his "sick" mom). It was very sad that , even at the end, Eugene life was going to remain the same. I like how the sun coming through the window symbolize rebirth but just as quickly as he opened the door, a huge realization came to pass which took the sun ( rebirth) away. I would have like to known a little more backstory on how the mother came to be that way.

Well said. I would add that, that's Mary's father that's abusive, not boyfriend. I think it tells a lot about the fact that the love we accept is the love we are familiar with. She somehow thought her father loved her despite the abuse. And Eugene was being avoidant and cold with her and she still had feelings for him, because that's what she thinks that love is.

Ok Bravo Alter, this is easily one of the best and scariest short films I’ve ever seen in my life!! 👏👏👏The writing, acting and production/creature effects were terrific, and even the title with it’s double meaning is perfect!! 💯💯💯 Also as someone who works in healthcare, this really hit home for all of us who know the burden of caregiving all day long at work then coming home to give care to a loved one (who is often demanding and unappreciative, and doesn’t care that you’re giving up your whole life to care for them) My heart breaks for the poor main character for the ✨true✨ horror that he is living. 💔

Excellent, I can even forgive the fact that the vampire was chewing on the left side of her neck but the wounds showed on the right.

OMW ! Though , anything can be but the last scene of his mother's touch tho she was a monster , heartbreaking .

I love vampire stories. Excellent work and great find on the actress. She’s beautiful, with those amazing dimples, and has great acting ability.

Wow!! This was absolutely brutal, awesome. Like honestly If this was a full length, it would be hailed as one of the best horror films in the last decade.

That was an amazing film. I loved it from beginning to end. I want more! I haven't had a good jump scare in a while and the ones in this film were executed perfectly. I also love the end. Poor guy, just couldn't catch a break... The acting, make up, cinematography and set design set the perfect atmosphere. Thanks for this, it really inspires me to continue working on my film. The thing is I'm pretty sure he was thinking of taking her out because he said he wanted to go to college... I think he was holding back on doing anything because he might have been worried about her...

I absolutely loved it . Great atmosphere , great acting . A big bravo .

Wow I am more into horror films with the monster/creature angle and this one just hit all the beats so well! A strong story and haunting end to it all just works so well in my book!!!

It’s amazing how good these are. I really wish was at least 90 minutes long.

Mom bit the girlfriend... so now the girlfriend cannot go into the light.. her skin was smoking. Now he's still trapped... this time to care & feed the girl. LIke he was almost out of that life.... but now its endless. Again. So sad...

That was a good one. I think I counted 5 times where I jumped. Really got my heart racing! Keep up the wonderful work!

I enjoyed the slowly-developing mystery! The acting was excellent, totally believable. Too bad he couldn't arrange an introduction of the young woman's abusive boyfriend to his mother. I don't see any neighborhood cats, so I assume they've already been laser-pointed into the buffet zone. I jest. But I'm reminded of two movies. "Psycho", also concerning a nice young man's relationship with his sick mother, and, although I haven't seen it for a while, "Little Shop of Horrors", in which, if I remember correctly, a downtrodden young man is compelled to bring "food" to a malevolent carnivorous plant. Thanks for making this for all of us! 👍

Awesome movie. I like all the characters, mums appearance, and surprises.

This was amazing.. the story was kinda.. not predictable but you kinda knew what would happen but so intense! I love it!

Very well filmed and acted. A great story in less than twenty minutes. The vampire makeup was scary and as good as any modern studio. Kudos to a film well done.
