Fun fact, the reason rat poison is so incredibly strong is because rats taste test their food to make sure it's safe to eat - first they make sure it smells alright, then they take a tiny bite, and if it tastes bad they won't eat anymore, so rat poison has to be strong enough to kill them from that single first nibble.

fun fact about this game!! Karim is an Italian KZreadr (Yotobi) who backed up the creator's Patreon so he was inserted into the game. the other npc you see in the game is one of his colleagues (who helps him find niche horror games to play on Tw1tch) who also is a supporter of their Patreon and was inserted accordingly:)

When a rat runs over my feet the moment I walk in the house, I would have used the opertunity that the house has no furniture yet to fill that thing with rat poison. Beside the fact that rats attack everything when they are hungry it would even be a massive health risk... This dude was insane from the beginning...

Makes me think of Scheele's Green. They used it in everything from paint to fabrics. It contained arsenic and made a bunch of people really sick...a lot of people actually died from it. I believe Napoleon had his walls painted/papered using this, and it ended up either making him gravely ill or ended up actually killing him.

I've seen Manly tank thousands of jump scares but that one at 7:10 got both of us.

Fun fact: the guy in the game, Karim, is actually a pretty famous italian youtuber called Karim Musa aka Yotobi, the guy literally gave the developer a photo of his face to put in the game.

the most horrifying part is how Manly leaves his car doors and trunk open, and the door to the house open and calmly goes to sleep. he stares RIGHT AT THE OPEN DOOR, and thinks to himself “yeah this is fine, any psycho who paints all the walls in every room the same color probably deserves to be killed by an axe murderer”

The scream at 18:20 is 100% without a doubt from Loud Nigra. I've heard it too many times to be mistaken.

I think the main reason Ray went insane was because of all the black mold on those walls 🙄 Not to mention the smell of rat leavings can make a person hallucinate.

I mean, my house doesn't look much better and at one point we had raccoons in the walls lol (We didn't feed anyone to them. We mostly told them to STFU and GTFO until we got the problem fixed. Unless it sounded like a big one was picking on a baby then I basically threatened to cut a hole in the wall to come beat them with my cane. Which... Was surprisingly effective somehow for a startling period of time.)

I highly recommend the dev's other game(which is fully free) called Dead Seater. It Steals is a more arcade-style but very good horror game, while Dead Seater is a fully linear(about 2-3 hour) horror game with an absolutely incredible story.

The 'gaint rat' was probably just a hallucination and the last time mc saw it it was kiran, hence why we saw him ded at the end.

This entire game is just one big metaphor for Disney. The disgusting old House of Mouse. Green interior reflecting Mickey's insatiable greed.

The real horror is that shade of green he has picked for the walls. Ugggh.

That first jumpscare got me so bad because I was expecting the character to have to sleep in the car.... first time in a bit a jumpscare actually got me

About the "detect the house" part, I'm pretty sure is was a small mistranslation because the portuguese word for "pest extermination" is "dedetização", and its very common to say you will "pest exterminate your house" (dedetizar a casa). (btw this game is made by 616 games, which is a brazilian team)

Seeing Manly in this video reminds me of some fictional characters. Like those who're so badass, but then have some kind of fear related to everyday animals. Also, manly, I love the way when the rats are starting to get tamed, and you just zoom in to each of them and say "mouse."

"Karim" is based off Yotobi (real name Karim Musa), the greatest Italian youtuber (and my favorite :)). He subscribed to 616's Patreon to be inserted in the game as a character because he plays all 616 games live on Twitch. Pasquale is another streamer called SoloUmido, Karim's friend. The fact that you're playing this game is crazy, because I saw Karim's livestream two days ago!!!

_The Paris green was a nice touch_ Painting the walls with arsenic paint won't get rid of those rats. The original story was much more evil and dark featuring Nyarlathotep but I enjoyed this interpretation. I liked the sound effects of the rats and constant creaking, as well as the music. 🐀

@@wolfydawolf5680 Well lol, Nyarlathotep was not cute in the story - more a "mad, faceless God" and only described, not part of the story. But it was a different description of him. The protag felt the rats were leading him down to caverns in the very center of the earth where Nyarlathotep howled blindly in the darkness.

It should be known that rats will pretty much eat anything, but tend to prefer grains and meal, vegetables, potatoes, really anything you can scrounge up. So Gramps here really didn't have to off a dozen people. He could've just bought produce regularly and would've had happy rats, and significantly less smell and disease in the house.

Man this new update to House Flipper Is lookin neat.

I don't know if it was the story the game was based on, but I remember reading a short story where 3 people get trapped in a lighthouse with a horde of rats outside. They manage to get through for a bit, but eventually they chew through, killing one guy, leaving another to go to an asylum, and the final one to be severely traumatized.

This reminds me of ‘The Black Cat’, and ‘The Cask of the Amontillado’ by Poe. I thought the same when I heard Lovecraft’s story, so they dev did well conveying that. Manly’s voice really made it quality content though :)

I just finished watching the Rifftrax version of Rats: Night of Terror with my husband. Coming to the computer after that and finding this video waiting for me was hilarious.

there's actually a rat inside my walls right now that's been chewing stuff and it's driving me nuts. i have traps set up and it hasn't been caught yet i can hear it moving right now

Reminds me of an Orwellian tale in which the protagonist gave up his lover for fear they would turn rats on his face

Poem Time: there was a hero who used rats that, was his life he was always able to get anywhere with problem, even if he doesn't have his keys, he has his rat to open up and it never fails. (A manlybadassbard second Poem needs a lot LOT of work)
