@AironNoriaLong nah...I pop my hamstring twice. The 2nd time was during a deadlift set. I wasn't even going heavy. After a few weeks I was back in the gym doing minor leg work. After few months back to lifting heavy loads on leg. I actually increase muscle and strength. So isn't a end game a lot times.

How is it feeling? I was DLing last week, and felt really good so I was doing some heavy singles. Started working my way up to my max, but at 520, as I picked up the bar I felt a pop in my hamstring. It didn't hurt, but instinctually I immediately noped out and dropped it. I'm capable of more so I was surprised it happened. I stopped the rest of the workout and skipped squats that week. Glad I did bc it felt pretty tight and definitely like i had a minor pull. After I hit a week, I tried some moderate squats and while they felt easy, on my largest effort set I could feel my hamstring wasn't happy with me and decided it's not worth DLing this week. I'd love to hear if you experienced something similar and how long healing took

That was probably an adductor tear, and judging from the sound it was a complete evulsion. I've also torn my adductor when squatting and I've seen a few other lifters do it including Jordan Feiganbaum . I don't think it's even possible to tear your hamstring squatting since it's not under enough stretch and doesn't bear any load. Also if the muscle completely detaches you don't have to worry about stretching it too soon after the injury since it's impossible to stretch the muscle since it's no longer attached.

I had a complete tear in my left hamstring following a 100m race in college. It sounds much louder than that. Mine was similar to the sound of a command strip being pulled off a wall and then a balloon popping. Boy am I glad I had medical attention right away. I couldn’t imagine the pain and difficulties that would come from having to go through this at a weight gym.

This injury happened with me, but i was in a Taekwondo presentation at school when I was 15 yo. I wanted to show the sensei that I have great physic and athleticism, even not training martial arts, throwing high and fast kicks. I was doing very well, got an compliment from sensei, and then my ego went to the sky. He asked that famous kick from Karate Kid movie, I put a lit of explosion and strength to jump and kick very high... i just herd 2 to 3 snaps/tear and put my hand in hamstring before i hit the solo again, and just seat pretending that nothing happened. It was sensei and my trachers fault, because we didn't even had an warm-up. But at that time for me it was all cool, I'm strong I never get injured, for even one day, I will be fine soon. I didn't looked for a doctor, physiotherapist. I was limping for 3-4 days, didn't treated, rest, nothing. To be honest 2 days after, I went to a Handball match, limping, and at the 4th day I was practicing futebol (soccer, for North Americans). During my 15 and 16 I practiced futebol 35 hours by week, in avarage. So I never felt nothing in my hamstrings or even close to it. I keep playng futebol between 17 -20yo but now, only 3-5 hours by week. With +-20yo, I started to feel a bit of back pain, not all the time, not so often. During the years the pain get worst, I went to 2 different orthodontists, they just checked x-rays... "you have nothing, just stretch a bit". When I was close to complete 22yo, my Achilles tendon teared. The sound is very similar to this one in the video. Less than 2 year before the Achilles I had my first lombar disc problem. My torso was bending to my left side, I used to joke when I looked to ky self at the mirror that I was like a clock "10 to midnight". That was the fist but not the last time that my lombar f* me, and although very painfull far from the worst. I had more and more back pain during the years. With 31yo a had a disc extrusion. I don't have words to describe the pain... it's an absurdity, it's ludacris. It took me 3-4 months of physiotherapy, rpg, and aquatic physiotherapy to start to walk straight and without pain. Yeah, I chose to not operate and to work hard on my recovery. Today, with 37 I had at least 20 back crisis where i suffered a lot of pain, and my body bends to my left. I did pilates for almost 2 years, helped me a lot with my upper body and mostly my core strength. Nowadays I don't train at gym or else, just taking car by myself, I'm doing fine. I had a lot of pain and a limited physical situation fo the last 17 years, just because I didn't warm-up and didn't treaded my injury in the hamstring. I just have 1 regret in my short life, till now, to not had have a proper treatment when I was 15yo.

You can do all the rehabbing and isometrics to recover, but ultimately the lifter has to go back to squatting weight. Best way is to start with lighter weight and progress slowly being careful not to reinjure the muscle. Hamstring injuries can take up to two months to heal, biggest mistake is to go back too soon when you're not having any pain .
