Haha I love how you say 'Aloy defeats the machine(s) and proceeds to her next objective-' etc etc. Whereas for me it was like 'Aloy got owned several times by the machines, eventually manages to defeat them, runs out of materials, has to go material farming and THEN moves on to her next task, where she will once again get owned by the machines.' That's how I played it anyways. 😅

@@marianix1591 haha handled nicely... Forbidden west is actually harder than zero dawn. Imo.... With everything new, it's tough to get used to thinking about food, valor surges, and weapons specials you can unlock. It's like you have to use everything in your arsenal properly, or you're screwed lol

This video is so much better than all the other 10 to 20 minute ones recapping the story. Very detailed and in-depth. I never read the comics so this was very useful. Thank you!

Love how this game didn’t coddle you; early on, these machines will own you. Also love when people start referring to her as a savior, she declares that they don’t own her via this legend and she ‘chooses’ to help. Very well written.

Hell yeah. Even through the game. You had to use the right ammo, and hit them in the right spot. Lol it's the only reason they got any easier. Loved this game. Already have forbidden west on pre order.

While replaying Zero Dawn, I never noticed how they’ve actually mentioned the Forbidden West. In some dialogue it gets mentioned & there’s even a data entry that you can scan that describes the Forbidden West. Makes me feel like Guerilla has been planning for this game while developing Zero Dawn.

They did plan for it to be a sequel. They were waiting to see how zero dawn turned out. The popularity from zero dawn was their greenlight to make it

I just hope they give it a PC port! This game had me tearing up at the ending and seeing the fate of the alpha primes when that piece of shit Ted who allready ruined the old world OUR WORLD did it again! To the new! Before it even had a chance to exist.

This story is the first to really affect me in a while. You could feel their hope and desperation

Horizon is by far the best-written and most engaging new content I've found in any media; for me, playing it has been like reading a great book, watching a superb movie, and playing an immersive and engaging video game that brings back all of my favorite aspects of Far Cry Primal with a new futuristic post-apocalyptic twist. Your piece does do the game justice, very good work!

I haven't seen a better story recap video till date. It includes all the important parts of the game, mentions the side plots, and just doesn't leave anything. Kudos🎉

I platinumed this game, got around 300 hours on it but can never get enough and this summary is so well done!! Loved it!

That was phenomenal. So well done! So glad I committed to this longer video, it was great, truly. I feel totally prepped for forbidden west!

This breakdown and summary of the HZD and the Frozen Wilds (Plus comics) is extremely well done. Don't apologize for how long it was, any shorter and you wouldn't have done the game justice. The perfect summary for players to get reacquainted or new players to get caught up on the lore before playing Forbidden West.

The first Horizon is set in post-apocalyptic United States, in the core of the West, in the states of Colorado, Utah and Wyoming. Guerrilla did a perfect job in representing the post-apocalyptic versions. The sequel will be set in the Forbidden West, so we talking about California, Nevada, Oregon and perhaps Washington and Arizona. I can't wait for him another month. HYPE😱😱😱😱😱😱

I’ve played this game a long time ago and been looking at a good recap to catch up for the next one. The other videos were too short and abrupt for me but this one takes me back like I was actually playing the story again! Great work and really appreciate you making this long and detailed video 🙌🏽

@@keianroth2669 I have something against breaking immersion from a serious narrative with too many jokes. If you can't help it, a few is fine. But not throughout the entire narrative sheesh. I saw one summary before this one, and I got tired of the jokes of the narrator about how horrible Faros was, or how bad his idea was, etc. Yes yes I know I know let's get on with the story now pls. Oh, more Faros jokes? Uhhgggh. Smh.

@@probablytaha starwars ? Have you even seen what Disney has done to starwars ? Inception was overrated as hell just over complicated to drive plot and interstellar was okay. But horizon has a rich lore. I'm sure you haven't actually gave the lore a deep dive. I'm a scifi buff and it's one of the best writer scifi plots/stories I've seen. Especially the exposition in the game, it was brilliantly done.

@@The_Primary_Axiom I mean I guess? Not to take it away from you, its an awesome couple of games, but the first game's writing is pretty so-so with some really cool lore. Second is better, but first game's moment to moment writing leaves a lot to be desired imo As far as Sci-Fi games I find a lot more interesting story-wise that I can recommend (in no particular order): -Nier Automata and Replicant -13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim -Mass Effect 1-3 -Bioshock 1 -Returnal -Soma -Outer Wilds -Metal Gear franchise -Dead Space 1+2. As far as movies/shows go, I think Arrival, Blade Runner series, Ghost in the Shell, Parasyte (not the Korean movie), Cowboy Bebop, and many other animated media tell a lot of unique stories that are some of my favorite Meant my comment as suggestions to add to your experiences. Like I said, Horizon is a cool franchise, just not nearly my personal favorite

Some of my most satisfying victories was defeating the two Jaguar robots in the early ruins section of the game. Mainly because I was underleveled, and lacked the resources for all of my traps, and was SUPER low on healing herbs. Don’t get me wrong, the mechanics for fighting in this game are amazing. But having to juggle low resources against tough oppenents, even if I died a lot helped me master certain timings and dodges and combos. I died many fucking times. But the more and more I played the better I got at using my abilities and being more conservative with my tools and health. And little by little I went from not being able to kill any, to dying after taking one down, to dying right before taking both, to finally killing both creatures.
