Why you didn't say lebanner is French ?
As a young Dutch k-1 fan, I was always scared when one of the Dutch guys had to go against Le Banner. He was the boogeyman. He's such a beast, and technical as well. I think it's really weird he never won the K-1, he deserved a title.

Awesome stuff. Hoost has had some great fights against LeBanner. I actually got the chance to speak to him when I visited the Netherlands. I somehow ended up with his phone number. He was gracious and gave me some training advice and gyms I could visit. He's always been a favorite for me.

That's very cool! Glad to hear he's such a nice dude in person.
Old K1 and PRIDE were a pinacle of combat sports for me. No one cared for weight classes, everyone was rooting for best fighters and there was no trash talk & drama in focus. Really a golden age of combat sports IMO

You had me at Hoost. Although you could say that with a bunch of people in this tournament.

Hoost is the first name that comes to mind when I hear K1. An absolute wrecking machine. Le Banner was a monster that nobody wanted to face. Savage power and some great techniques. Both guys came to finish, no score a win.
Hoost and Le Banner is one of those incredible rivalries in K1. The first got his dedicated video, I'd love it if you did the same for Jérome !
K-1 was legendary sport with legendary fighters! No sport comes even close to these k-1 days ❤ 🙇♂️💪🏻👑🙏🏻

I can’t believe they fought each other 5 times
Thank you for bringing back those memories and for your great breakdowns. When the best fought the best in K1. And bringing back Mr. Perfect's incredible skills. And props to Le Banner he did beat Hoost twice.
The WARS Le Banner had with Mark Hunt are Epic also
Ernesto Hoost, in my opinion, is the greatest K-1 kick-boxer of any period. He has won the K-1 Championship 4 times, 1993, 1997, 2000, 2002. In 1993 Hoost had win the K-2 Championship. He is also the only person to beat every single K-1 world champion and runner up, some at multiple times.Retiring with a record of 99 wins and 21 losses. Peter Aerts 4x Jerome LeBanner 3x Andy Hug 3x Ray Sefo 3x Mirko Filipovic 3x Sam Greco 3x Stefan Leko 3x Musashi 2x Fransisco Filho 2x Maurice Smith 2x

This might sound weird but I first heard of Hoost when I saw a recording of his appearance on Gaki no Tsukai's Silent Library series. They mentioned something about him being a fighter but that didn't really matter for the content he was making with them. lol Had no idea he was such an icon in the martial arts world.

Much love . Would be much Appreciated if you could do a break down of the style of Dwight Muhammad Qawi. Awesome boxer from the 80s and early 90s. Your technical break down would do him justice

Hoost has to be one of my all time favourite fighters .... humble, fair, pleasure to watch ....this sport needs more Ernesto and less Connor type of fighters
Great breakdown 👍💪
What a war, a treat for the fans!
The thing nobody is mentioning though is how did Hoost win that second fight....by Boxing. Boxing really is the superior sport when you take a kickboxer and put him against a boxer he usually always loses only when he abandons the key elements of Kickboxing and learns boxing does he win, it truly is the sport of kings.
Why do I love these?

Hoost is super entertaining to watch. It's also special to see a kickboxer specialized in leg kicks outbox a pure boxer
Befofe I learned of Hoost as a legendary kickboxer I learned of him as the legend that had a huge balloon explode inside his shirt in Silent Library. Champ champ
The best combat sports channel around
Hoost had a thing for legkicks…. Well that’s an understatement
I’d love to see a breakdown of Forrest Griffins unorthodox style of fighting! He seems so awkward you’d think he’d never learned how to punch when you see him sometimes. Yet he lands with such heavy hands. I’m no expert but obviously there has to be a technique behind his style that enabled him to be so successful and entertaining. Love it if you’d make a video on him! I love your videos! Your highly technical yet easily understandable style is awesome.
@ohtebowah
Жыл бұрын
Forrest didn't have heavy hands and was known as a pretty bad striker. I don't think there's much to break down other than he was tough and not very technical
@j.g.951
Жыл бұрын
Not very technical in a technical sense(lol) yet he had a specific style all his own as well as a strategy. That’s what I’d be interested in hearing him analyze. Even though Forrest seems like he’s just wailing wildy(and maybe he is) I still think there’s a “technical” aspect of any fight or brawl that can be gleened by an expert like this guys channel. BTW I’m no expert so could be way off here but it makes sense to me hahaha
Timing is power. Timing is EVERYTHING!!
K1 will always hold such a huge part of my heart. RiP Hug
😯 what a punching combination from the best kicker in the game.

Great video man! Those guys were beasts. Could anyone tell what the song that plays at the start is called?
That tourney was full of legends. I wish tourneys like that still were a thing.
maaaama this was a legendary match 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hoost was so fuckin good That he got destroyed by the very best Jean Yves Thériault ...
Don't forget to do an analysis on Manson Gibson. I will really appreciate it. Thanks Bro, Love your channel

I didn't know Le Banner was a Right Handed SouthPaw
Those hooks from Jerome, I'd almost call some Hookjabs (is that a term?), the way his arm is basically straight when he lands, with the arcing of the arm sideways throwing off the guarding somewhat.
Will you cover the lightweight K-1 World Max Grand Prix too ?
El k1 es mi disciplina favorita una autentica pasada las leyendas del ring lebaner era una bestia pero hoost menuda fiera un luchador peligrosisimo!!de mis favoritos grande ernesto

So cool!
what is the track playing at the beginning
NOT CLICKBAIT 10/!0 accurate title GOOD JOB!
Was that megaloboxing music in the beginning??
Honestly expected Hoost to just coast on kicking people in the back of the head but that dude lost, put the work in, and dismantled his opponent. Respect
Big fan of both of these guys. Hoost was one of the most technical kickboxers of all time at any weight. LeBanner was my favorite kickboxer in those days, criminally underrated in my opinion, much more technical than he gets credit for. His incredible athleticism and power overshadowed his technique in my opinion.
2 of the best.

El k.o. que tiene ernesto contra otro luchador negro que le da la patada prácticamente en la nuca y lo apaga buf.... Que peligro.... brutal Mr.perfec.....
