Hoosac Tunnel - Train Smashes Winter Icicles! Florida, Massachusetts 2024

A quick video of the Hoosac Train Tunnel in Florida Massachusetts, A stop we made on a recent local adventure to winter hike and camp Mt. Greylock. The conductor stopped to send us his video from inside the train which I included here too, Very rare footage! I shot my part of the video with an Insta360 Camera.
The tunnel itself has a pretty interesting history. It is one of the oldest and longest train tunnels in North America and for a long time it was the longest in the world. It was also dug with manual labor by two teams from both ends that met in the middle. I am not a big train guy by any means, but I thought those were some fun facts.

Okay, that fisheye effect of your camera makes everything look bizarre when you make it zoom out. Oh man, that's so weird. At one point the train was coming out of the tunnel and making a 180 and going around you. It was hard to figure out what was real. But anyway, I loved those icicles. So how did you get the footage from inside the cab of the train?

Im not sure if it was a mandatory stop or if it was because they had time to kill, but the train conductor stopped right next to us and came out and offered to trade videos! He said this is a super rare perspective that only train conductors usually get to see. I editted his clip in to integrate into one whole video. Super nice guy and shared some interesting fun facts about the tunnel.
