Honwave Puncture - Will it Sink? (10,000 Subscriber Special)

In this video I simulate a tube puncture in my Honwave T32-IE to see how well the other tubes will keep the boat afloat and whether I can manoeuvre the boat with the tubes down. As I'm often out fishing three miles offshore I wanted to test what would happen with each of the tubes deflated in the safety of shallow water. Should the Honwave perform badly it could find itself up for sale, assuming it's not at the bottom of the sea by the end of the video.

    You called it Cloughey Bay? I have wondered where my own personal heritage is from. My last name is Clough, I live in Maryland, USA and my Dad is from Maine, USA. A dream come true would be for me to travel across the pond as folks call it and visit the wonderful places I see on videos and TV Thank you for the boating videos and the computer ones. I get so much enjoyment from them!!! Thank you! Jay

    Interesting- I have been thinking the same about my Honwave 38- I think there are only two cells -one on either side-and the two 'floor cells'; in my view there should be a separate 'bow section' to keep the prow up into any chop; also I wonder how your test would work with-say a more typical 10-15 hp engine weighing about 100 pounds; I might give it a go myself but it will need to be summer and a LOT warmer first ! Thanks anyway-Tom

    Impressive safety margin on my old very large Avon red seal or redshank if you left one side some air from the other side was in second air bag within the side balloon so stayed very still bit soggy but not sinking so again very safe….my old zodiac 310 worked the same quite fail safe..

    Thank you for a good demonstration. I wonder if you can help , i have a 3.8m air floor. i have blown up two Bravo electric pumps as i am unable to get the correct adapter for the pump. I believe it is because the adapter does not open the valve correctly? What adapter do you use ? does it have a central bar in the inside of the adapter ?

  • @ALEXANjunior

    @ALEXANjunior

    2 жыл бұрын

    If you do not find an adapter with central bar inside then take one and put a wooden nail on it. You have to put enough heat on the nail until it is able to melt the plastic of the adapter in order to put it from one side to the other. Then simply cut the nail from each side.

    Because of possible punctures on the floor I choosed a RIB instead of a SIB. Would not easy for me hear the sound of a puncture on the boat floor being 3miles offshore. I feel more safe knowing that under my feet is there something rigid....

    It is the auxiliary outboard too that makes you feel more safe that you don't have in a sib unless you have some cheap 2hp 2 stroke lying on the floor with of course separate fuel tank.

    Probably have different results if you had a long gash and water entered into tube. ie hit a rock tearing front and side tube. But for a fish hook a bit of guerilla tape should get you home.👍

    @@ChristopherFlannigan Love your vids and read All comments too ! Guerrilla Tape I have never used but I did buy Water proof Guerilla glue to fix a tiny transducer to the bottom of my Orkney dinghy , it lasted about 6 hrs, if the tape performs like the glue then give to the kids for craftwork as it should not be near water.
