should be respectful of bride's wishes ...it's 1 day for a couple of hours ... getting short dresses bridal party different heights everybody has different hems... when long everybody looks immaculate in photos. It also helps lengthen & looks great on different body types... you want to be comfortable dancing when you have a short dress on you can't dance and do a lot of things because you're worried about your dress

I understand the bridesmaids' concerns about the long dresses in the summer heat, but if the bride wants a long dress, that's what you wear.

My bridesmaids word long dresses with long sleeves in an outdoor summer wedding in 100 degree temps and cicadas flying around. My dress was also long with sleeves that but the floor (split to the wrist) and the groomsmen (and my hubby) wore wool tux jackets. Not a single person complained. Not one!

I was a bridesmaid in my cousins wedding and it was in late spring pretty much summer and we wore long dresses but they were quite light and flowy so still keeping us cooler

I don't understand why they couldn't go with a tea length dress. It is below the knee but not to the floor. That is what my bridesmaids wore for my wedding.

The first time I was a bridesmaid, I wore a dress that I didn't like at all. It was also very lightweight - in February. I froze. But I did it because I loved the bride.

What a bunch of rude people. Mario needs to find some more friends to hang out with: he is such a bully to her. This was hard to watch-no fun, no thrills, no happiness-just a bunch of people insulting a woman.

I can understand that since it is a summer wedding, a lot of dress might be too much, but I would never have people who treat me like that in the wedding. They would be lucky to be a guest.

Whether or not the bride "knows anything about fashion" is 100% irrelevant. It's about what the bride wants, nothing more or less - period. And for any members of bridal party/entourage is RUDE and they should be tossed out of the appointment, the bridal party & maybe the wedding itself if they are doing anything other than supporting the bride.

There is no such thing as "brutally honest". There's telling the actual truth, and there's being rude about what YOU THINK.

I was maid of honor in a wedding party with two other bridesmaids. Not one of us argued about the dress the bride wanted for us. It wouldn't dawn on me to argue about it. It made me angry that the consultant even listened to the bridesmaids. The bride wanted long, that's all she should have dressed them in. And the bride shouldn't have caved and should definitely lose the honorary bridesmaid as a friend.

I’m stubborn I see these where the bride basically gives in to what everyone else wants. If I was treated like that I would dig my heels in and stick to what I wanted almost out of spite at that point

This consultant was horrible…why didn’t she pull any long chiffon dresses that could be light and flowy for the summer?

When I got married, I went to the bridal store alone, picked out my dress and picked out the bridesmaid dresses...period. No one told ME what to do for MY wedding🎉

I gave in to my bridesmaids when it came to color. 58 years later I wish I hadn’t given in. It should be the bride’s choice and no one else.

It’s gross that the bridesmaids got involved like their opinions held value. Yes, they’re wearing the dresses, but, NONE of them are getting married. It’s NOT a day about the bridesmaids. It’s about THE BRIDE. There’s no excuse for ANYONE trying to override what THE BRIDE wants.

My sister-in-law went just her and her Mom. She picked out the dress and said this is it. They either wore it or said no to being in her wedding.

It’s not their day. So it’s not their say. And I hope if/when it’s their turn, their bridesmaids are as rude and opinionated. Why isn’t Mario wearing a dress since his opinion seems so important. I remember wearing a dress in a shade of red, with ruffles. The ruffles made my size 7/8 frame look like a linebacker and I HATE red even to this day. The material was horrible. But the bride was my best friend, it was her vision for her day. My mouth remained shut.

She shouldn't have made Mario an honorary bridesmaid. He should've been left at home. The consultant could've offered tea length or ballet length dresses that way they're in between long and short.

The bridesmaids dresses should not upstage the bride. They should compliment the bride and look elegant.

As a muslim who is most of the time covered even in summer, i don’t fully understand their concern , a dress thats longer won’t make a huge difference and i bet they don’t wear short stuff all summer around

Just another reason the bride needs to come into the selection/fitting with only the maid of honor and possibly 1 other bridesmaid. In a perfect world, the bride would have already shopped for the dresses. But I will concede that not all dresses will flatter all wearers. As I have said before, in today's world, we have a lot of different body shapes out there, and what might be beautiful for some young ladies might not work so well for others. To me, that seems to be the most critical issue in today's day and time.
