    Hello, while I haven't personally used the Lenovo P11, it seems to have some advantages over the X9. The P11 appears to have a slightly better processor on paper, higher MP cameras, improved WiFi with WiFi 6e support, as well as sim and SD card support. However, it's essential to consider real-world usage to make a final decision. Based solely on the spec sheet and price, I would lean slightly towards the P11

    Would you recommend to buy the Honor Pad 8 or the X9 for media consumption? The Pad 8 has larger IPS display, but lower refresh rate. The X9 has smaller and possible worse TFT display but higher refresh rate 120Hz. Is one better than the other in screen, speakers or anything else?

  • @typicaltechlad

    @typicaltechlad

    Hi, I don’t have any personal use of the Pad 8 but for media consumption, I think there are certain trade offs on each side and you would have decide which trade off you are willing to accept. The TFT panel on Pad X9 is not bad at all in my opinion with slight shifting in viewing angles. And 0.5 inches difference in size is marginal. X9 also has slightly higher PPI. Personally the X9 was a very good tablet for media consumption

  • @typicaltechlad

    @typicaltechlad

    Hi, the HONOR Pad X9 has a higher PPI of 203 whereas the Pad 8 is 194 PPI, me personally, I didn’t really look at it very close like that but it seems sharp enough at normal distance, and Pad X9 also has higher refresh rate of 120Hz vs 60Hz and can get slightly brighter at 400 nits vs 350 on the Pad 8, do between them the X9 has the better display and would be more suited for you media consumption and ebooks

    I am stuck between choosing the Pad 8 or the Pad X9 because both have their own merits. The Pad 8 has a bigger and better screen and also comes with a charger. The Tab X9 is newer, has a faster cpu and the latest version of Android which should allow for more updates over the next two years. At the moment the Tab X9 is only £20 cheaper than the Tab 8 and that's little more than the price of a decent fast charger which I will have to buy separately so the relative price is basically the same. I will be using the tablet mainly for browsing, chatting and streaming live sports and watching programs but am not particularly bothered about gaming. I am leaning more towards the Tab X9 because it is the newer model but am concerned about how the sound works in portrait given that it only has speakers on 3 sides, which means that the right side in portrait doesn't have speakers. Is this an issue or barely noticeable? Also, when in split screen mode in landscape, which i would sometimes use to watch a sport and use a chat app at the same time how does the keyboard work? Does it stay within the chat app part or will it still take up the full width of the tablet? Btw, I really like your reviews, very precise and informative. Got thumbs up and subscribed from me!

  • @typicaltechlad

    @typicaltechlad

    7 ай бұрын

    Hi Jenna, thank you for watching, sounds like she’s an avid gamer lol. The Pad X9 comes with 128GB of internal storage only (no sd card expansion!) so it all depends on how many games she downloads and how big they are. Something like Genshin Impact runs around 20GB usually, so large file sized games will fill up the storage quite quickly. Just have to be mindful of the limited storage in the end. For everything else, watching movies & Netflix the tablet is a delight, the 6 speakers make it very immersive and the display too 👍 hope that answers your question

    The tablet is really good for the money, has a great display for indoor, good audio, runs smooth and can handle a bit of multitasking very well. The CPU is strong enought for simple tasks of everyday life for common users, and let the battery last long, at least 7 hours. It's a mess that the Honor Launcher, even if has many good things quite usefull in a tablet, lacks of many usefull features, is ugly and has a poor and limited personalization, but it runs very fast.

    Mmm I can't decide. I was planning to buy the Lenovo P11 when it drop in prices like on Black Friday until a coworker mention this tablet. I used a comparison website on the two tablet and it says the Lenovo P11 is abit better mainly for the camera and 1.6 longer battery life. Oh and have external SD slot and 6 gb RAM and also run the latest Android aswell. The main thing I used for my tablet is gaming which both tablets has no issue running a high performace game.

  • @typicaltechlad

    @typicaltechlad

    10 ай бұрын

    Hi, it sounds like you're in a bit of a dilemma. Both the HONOR Pad X9 and the Lenovo P11 seem like great options. If the camera quality, longer battery life, external SD slot, extra RAM, and the latest Android version are important to you, then the Lenovo P11 might be the better choice. However, if gaming performance is your main concern and both tablets handle high-performance games well, you might want to consider other factors that matter to you, like design, display quality, and additional features. Ultimately, it's about finding the tablet that best suits your needs and preferences.

  • @Renkencen

    @Renkencen

    10 ай бұрын

    @@typicaltechlad Well I have done abit of research out of the tablets available to me locally. I haven't check online site as it would make thing harder in terms of which one to get. Even then the games I'm playing is not high performance per say althought one does take alot of processing power (which is a factor for which tablets to buy). Funny how that game is not 3d (Cookie Run Kingdom) but I guess it is well animated. The only reason why I want a new one now is that my current tablet memory is too small (30 gb which I am kicking myself for) and one of the games had a big update that took more of the remaining memory spaces left. I think for now, if I can wait til Black Friday or some huge sale, I would go for the Lenovo P11 as the current price (around £300) is too expensive but if that game get another big update like tomorrow then it would be Honor X9.

    @@tsu8003 Ouch I bought the X9 yesterday cos of black Friday cos it was £10 off. This tablet is an upgrade over my last one (Samsung Galaxy tab7). The main issues/ want is the gaming performace and they all run smoothly! The 128gb will last me for a long time! There are a few nikpick but I will get used to it like the patterm login screen is big or how the space between the app icon are too wide. The main issue is that the charging is slow but to be fair the old one did enable fast charging. That being said the battery is drained slower to the old one so that kinda compensant it.
