Just for a test as I am also testing it right now (as you might've seen). Does the dynamic refresh rate save a lot of battery for you? I usually force it to 120Hz as KZread and some other apps otherwise drop down to 60Hz for some reason. As for the cameras the zoom at 3.5x seems to be better than on the Magic 4 Ultimate. 10x however is a hit or miss. In daylight I think it is better but by a small margin only of improved processing and white balance. In lower light it looses to the higher MP sensor of the Magic 4 Ultimate. The fast shutterspeed option is nice but has a zoom limit. The video recording limit of 15 minutes is ridiculous for 2023. Log format in video can be edited on the phone which is fantastic. Overall a pretty good device by Honor even if I am a bit sad they downgraded the charging speed. That one is still insane wired or wireless on the Magic 4 Ultimate

Honestly the battery life, update life span and a charger in the box is a big yes for me. Looking sadly at my pixel 6 😢.

What's the video you used at 2:52? I want to see what it looks like on my S23 Ultra. I'm able to return it (as I just bought it) and buy the Magic5 Pro, but I'm stuck wondering which is the better phone, price difference is negligible, since I got the S23 ultra discounted, so it's just about which phone is better tbh.

i say, that this HONOR 5 magic PRO will be the next step to the top for the brand. lots of features and power(GB) for peanuts, in comparison to the galaxy or apple phones. but flagships killer idk tbh. greetings from rainy hamburg.

That’s usually caused be Lens coatings

i just returned mine. (which had a 5450mAh battery as well). Sadly, mine is the Chinese version which does not support Google GMS installation nor re rooting, thought i could overcome that but still not😢

@@hassanadams1716 I didnt want to risk bricking the phone trying to reroot it. Theres no other way to use Google Services, opted for Xiaomi 13 Pro, which im happy with so far.

Can you use the face ID for banking apps, etc? Or just to unlock the phone? Thanks

This is normal, it's the lens shaking about due to optical image stabilastion system.

can you test filmic plus on it and can you do custom AOD

..the phone is NOT available as of now, please when you making your video ready make sure what is AVAILABLE and what is not - HONOR claims mid april but no details or specifics has been pass on when i spoke with them..

@WhatGear ..thanks, they weren't specific to me either, also no mobile providers distribution was acknowledged as well, to me it looks like a part of a bigger picture - for instance no oppo find x6 series for UK, xiaomi 13 lineup only via their website, o2 is getting last year Redmi 12 with android 12 advertised as S to cover it up a little bit.. greetings bro!

Worth switching to it from the s23 u? No, i do not trust dxo mark, it's a paid platform.

Who cares about the f*cking camera these days? Literally no one uses these damn things to do anything worthwhile, I think I met one guy who genuinely uses the cameras on his phones professional but other than that, I rather hear about the excellent speakers, the Desktop Mode and haptic feedback and its integration into the system UI.

Outer space isn't real.

Great for the Chinese. Not great for the US or Uk. Some of these Chinese phones are really great with one HUGE caveat. They're made for the Chinese market with Chinese bands. Yes, they can still work in the US or Uk but you will more than likely have spotty coverage if you travel regularly and many times even if you don't. I love what the Chinese brands Huawei, Xiaomi, Honor etc are manufacturing. I don't love that they are somewhat "handicapped" in the Western Market. I've tried them, and now I stay away from them.

Agree with the Chinese variant. There is a global version of this phone which works great on the Canadian Networks and google play out of box.

kzread.info/dash/bejne/imGCm7h7dtfUhNY.html you can see that there are fingerprints on the lenses, I also have the phone for a couple of days and it seems it is really uncomfortable to hold, because the camera bump is large and extends quite a lot downwards, during normal usage I feel it will topple over, or you will extend you finger over the camera module. Hope I just needs an accommodation period.
