A stunner until the end. In the flesh through the decades she had beauty brains and natural sex appeal. She used the same library as I did in the early 1990s and she was always polite and friendly. Everyone knew who she was but did not invade her privacy. Personally Miss Blackman gave me decades of pleasure on screen in theatres and at the library.

I sat in the next booth to her on the train once. Didn’t talk to her and gave her privacy. She was however incredibly beautiful and well groomed. Stunning.

@@allisterwhitehead I agree with you about Sean Connery having conflicting values But worse was Michael (moneybags) Caine. He appeared on the front of the SUN, referring to paying his taxes to the unemployed in their benefits. He claimed he " had 3 and a half " layabouts" to support!

On the set of the film Shalako, Bardot will explain that on returning in the evening to his room to have found one evening Sean Connery naked in his bed and to have fired him.Bardot who came from a wealthy French bourgeois family, found Sean Connery vulgar and uneducated and explained that the relationship with Connery was complicated by the fact that he was jealous because she was dating a young French technician met during the filming of the film and could not stand that as a star international, She prefers a simple technician.

I remember Honor Blackman mostly in her iconic role as Mrs Gale in the Avengers... I never knew she grew up in Plaistow.

When Brigitte Bardot did the VANITY FAIR Questionnaire, she was given the question "If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?" and answered "Nothing in myself. Everything in others."

A goddess. She was my dream as a young man.

She was someone who grew old gracefully and was still absolutely gorgeous in her eighties and ninetie.

She is definitely on my personal ‘Honors’ list, a classic beauty, it might be my age, but I do think actresses of the past exuded a style, beauty and class, that modern day stars fall woefully short of.

Honor Blackman & Sean Connery's birthdays were close; Aug 22/Aug 25 & both died a few months apart in the same year 2020.

When Goldfinger came in the USA much was made of her being on the Avengers. When it finally aired on the USA her episodes never aired here. Only the Rigg Thornson shows. They did air finally many years later.

Wasn't Connery also in SHALAKO? Also, you totally missed that Blackman played the Katherine Helmond role in the big hit U.K. remake of WHO'S THE BOSS!

Stephen Boyd did NOT play Chief Chato in 'Shalako'. That was Woody Strode. Boyd played a villain. Nor did Sean Connery 'only work in the US'. Ms Blackman was a staunch anti-royalist who turned down her own title by the way.

Let me guess - she hated the only woman in the film Shalako who was better looking than her? Shock, horror, what a revelation? I’m so clever I aught to run for President!

If you look at the photos of Connery and Bardot together you will see why Blackman was jealous. I think she didn’t like Bardot’s reputation and the obvious flirting with Connery. Think there may have been more to the Connery/Bardot relationship than just work colleagues!

Bond films never really had great roles for women--until recently anyway. I felt she was wasted in the Bond film. I really liked her and Diana Rigg in the Avengers.

Bardot couldn't act to save her life.

Great actress to the very end. Still going strong with appearances such as in Midsomer Murders, but stepmother to two SONS?!?!? @3:17 Looks like a DAUGHTER and a son.

I would agree with her, BB is a more of a cult figure, did wonder for the French economy, perhaps,but in my eyes she was a lousy actress and i watched a lot of her since late 50s,and not to mention a terrible singer; a hero in the animal world,may be, but zilch at human level.

I like some BB songs, but then again they were made by Gainsbourg. HB asked for elocution lessons as a birthday gift from her dad ( one doesn't sound like coming from Plaistow) - forward thinking that I salute.

I believe she was the only Bond girl to be older than the ol' 007 as she was in her late thirties as Pussy Galore in Goldfinger.

It the USA they changed it to Kitty Galore.

The name was not changed in the US. Kitty was discussed, but it was not changed. Pussy was omitted from print ads. I saw the movie.

Marriages got in the way of her career so divorces inevitable!

Always wondered why her name is spelled the American way.

Honor Blackman’s best role was A Night To Remember. I don’t get the Blackman fan boys. She was nothing like Diana Rigg or Linda Thorson on The Avengers, nor was she a beauty like Leslie Anne-Down or Jean Simmons ( both British contemporaries of Blackman’s).

I think she was a beauty - not just in her youth, but throughout her life, which is rare. And the Avengers got better with time. It wasn't her fault that the scripts we're boring af.

Bardot wasn't a actress per say, but let's be honest here, she was about a thousand times hotter than Blackman, I mean comon, it's so obvious!

I do not think so Honor had better bone structure and was 9 year older than Brigitte, she also aged a lot better, in the film they were in I think all that eye make up did not suit Brigitte either.
