@TheSmithersy please, do you really believe in it? By far the largest immigration has already taken place when hk is handed over to china, but I havent seen tons of hk migrants leaving hk tho - in fact they obtained the foreign passport, and kept staying in HK.

It was part of a hundred year old agreement that the UK hand back HK. They were just keeping their side of the agreement.

It is clear that Britain was never the true ruler of Hong Kong, but an invader, who, despite its wrong doings in the pass, did lay a strong economic foundation in the colony it least from Imperial China. Now that the lease has expired, it makes sense to hand back Hong Kong to the people who actually settled the land and has its descendants live in it.

TAKEOVER of HK Island and Kolwoon Pennisula South of Boundary Street. That was first sign of unreasonable aggression. We were too coward to care and too scared to act. Now a different generation is losing lives to fight our battle. KUDOS to the HK kids. WE ARE NOT WORTHY.

hongkong always china, china never possesed hongkong.that's only reversing the anglo-xino treaty after 2nd opium war.or else there will be anglo-xino war as china will never accept any options other then annulled previous unequal treaty and replace them with equal one.

and we talked about county to country relation so everything must be based on document and both goverment still kept those documents.so if british want to fight both militarily or leggally it will never favorable for them.as definitely the treaties that british obtained hongkong were series of unequall treaties made by dying qing with foreign power.in moral based in this modern world that kind of practice are something in the past.plus china is not argentina if we compared with malvinas/falkland case.it will cause terrible impact for british if they use force on this matter.

MyYuwono no it was right for the British too. The world changed and China has finally opened up. Not essential for the British government to have land in the Far East anymore. Much more important to have a close relationship with China, which they do.

Title should be: "Hong Kong RETURNS to Chinese Possession". Hong Kong has always belonged to china, it was taken taken by force by the British and we shall not forget that
