I like that the CW Flash series brought back John Wesley Shipp, Amanda Pays, and Mark Hamill to reprise their roles from the 90s Flash series/movies. Shipp actually got three roles on that show by playing Barry's Dad, Jay Garrick, and his 90s Flash. Dude received major respect despite his version being mostly forgotten. Edit: And the CW Flash also brought back Prank, Bellows, and Julio's actors too. I never realized they were from the 90s show.

one of the most random things I remember this for is . . . it run from mid-hour to mid-hour (I grew up with Central standard time, so 7:30-8:30pm) I honestly can't think of any other hour-long show (counting commercials) that did that.
I remember that show. Given the budget and effects technology at the time, they did what they could. The last scene was him running through the city and everyone standing in place until the direction said ACTION. I didn't know there were direct to video movies though.
@bbwibb02

Well, there aren't really. The first movie is just the feature-length pilot. The Flash II: Revenge of the Trickster is just episode 11, The Trickster, and episode 21, Trial of the Trickster. The Flash III: Deadly Nightshade is just episode 8, Ghost in the Machine, and episode 15, Deadly Nightshade. So, until the complete series was released on DVD, those three VHS tapes with those 5 episodes were the only home video releases for the show you could own.
This show deserves a proper remaster on 4K since it was shot entirely on 35mm film stock.

The 90's Flash TV show is one of my favorite shows. I loved that it was simple, it didn't try to be more than it already is, the effects were fantastic for the time, it was character-driven for the most part and it was just altogether fun. This has always been the *real* Flash for me.

It was fun, but it was never given a chance to become great.
Since it never played on any of the main channels here in Britain, and since I didn't get cable till 2003, all I ever saw of this was the three movies on vhs. Then managed to catch a repeat of one episode on our version of the sci fi channel when house sitting for someone in 2001. And then I got the Dvd in 2020. I waited nigh on 30 years to watch all of this. And I loved it! More so than the cw version, which lost its way for me from season two onwards. It does take about a third of run to find it's feet - initially the network wouldn't let them use costumed villains so he is just fighting ordinary crooks - but from the episode ghost in the machine on it really clicks. Even more so in the last third when they make Barry and Tina a crime fighting partnership. Comic book action with stories complete in one episode. I don't think it's bad at all. I think it's a great show and it still stands up well. And nobody says 'we'll get/stop him. I promise.' What's there not to love?
I loved this show back in the day. When John Wesley Shipp showed up in the CW Flash, I just about jumped out of my seat with delight.
The era when people knew how daft and camp the genre was and didn't pretend otherwise.
This is a blast from the past. I have such a hankering to rewatch this show now.
