I once went to a Star Trek convention that had Doctor Crusher's actress. When she was on stage she said something along the lines of "Let's talk about how Doctor Crusher was a single mother, who was strong and intelligent, and for some reason fell in love with a lamp????" Completely unprompted.

What make me wonder is the romance between Crusher and Picard was forced or not? Because tbh it felt kinda out of the blue. Like it's required for everyone to be paired with someone in that ship.

I don't think it felt forced, more awkward. Picard and her husband were best friends before his death but they obviously had feelings for each other that would just be wrong given how close they were. That and the whole fraternising with the crew thing.

Love the clip where Picard requests Arbitration. The whole scene is him finding a way to force the alien species he's talking to, to force them to let him do what he wants. The alternative is that "Arbitration" he's requesting, which even THEY don't have the patience for (he requested arbitration from a species that is currently in hibernation). I get what it LOOKS like here, but it is quite funny and fun to watch.

That's why I felt Worf worked much better on Deep Space Nine than on TNG. There we actually saw him use his skills in combat, explore his diplomat skills in bringing together Starfleet and the Klingon Empire and engaging interactions with other characters (Gen. Martok, Sisko, Jadzia, etc.). It helped that DS9 had - in my opinion - a rich cast of supporting characters that were both good and bad, so Worf's presence fit right in.

My hands down favorite part of Star Trek : The Next Generation is towards the end of the series when Picard is off the Enterprise so they have a different captain altogether and Troi tries to give her opinion to him and he asks why she's not in uniform. Then like literally for the rest of the series Troi is always in her uniform even when Picard gets back I just found it hilarious that she got in trouble with her boss over her uniform like honestly the most relatable part of NG if you ask me.

This is utterly hilarious (and true) and even better when you've heard some of the actors THEMSELVES say these things in person. For example, I remember seeing Michael Dorn at a con and _he_ talked about the "beat up Worf" trope, on stage. Imagine "Here is my first officer Worf; would you like to beat him up?" in that voice. It was amazing. XD
