***** Not really. Nimoy ridiculously sold out. His sceen in the last film was downright insulting to our intelligence. And I wouldn't have had a problem with him being in if he didn't say a million times "I'll only be in the film if it helps the story." What a load of crap. Next film will be worse, but we're talking about moving from the loose stool that was STID to downright diarhea. Can't wait till this trilogy is buried and dead.

Man 0 all Js ST wrath of khan was supposed to be the true death of Spock. Nimoy was sick of his typecast, and wanted to sever ties with his vulcan character. He requested him to be killed. However, he changed his mind, and thus, the search for spock was born. Into Darkness was just a movie that meshed "old" with "new". So, they kept the same "death scene" just rearranged who it was.

will This movie was awesome...if I ignore the little nagging voice telling me it's taking a giant dump all over the original Star Trek. I mean, if they had made this a straight reboot with no reference to the original universe (a la BSG), that voice would go away, but this is still technically the same universe as the show, just a different branch of the timeline.

I did enjoy watching Spock go all human and using his super strength and knowledge, open an alien can of whoop arse. The whole TOS you know you wanted to see him do it, but he didn't and that made you want him to even more.

For an Honest Trailer here's an honest oppinion: I don't know the Star Trek Culture because I am not a hardcore fan of the series. I didn't know who was Khan prior at the viewing of the movie, and appart from the original series, all I know of Star Trek are these two last movies. I found them pretty well done and very entertaining. Conclusion: These last two movies were not meant for hardcore fans of the franchise, but for the opposite, people that know very little or nothing of the series. If you are a hardcore fan of Star Trek, and if you are reading this, get the message: all the new Star Trek movies will dissapoint you. THEY ARE NOT MEANT FOR YOU.

Also the original was made for an audience in the sixties. We're not in that time any more, even the original fans will have changed in that time, they're just different. If people want they original they can see the original, it won't change but these films give a new perspective due to applying modern film production to the series. They add to the franchise. Also, I love TOS but my main issue with it is that there wasn't as much focus on character back then as there is now. I understand it's a style of the times but I love character based stories and I think these films have a little more of them than the original so I may prefer them but I'll need to rewatch the movies first, I finished the series recently. :)

This movie and Star Trek 2009 got me into Star Trek. I love these movies so much, But now I also love the original series and some of the old movies thanks to these

I would highly recommend you to watch Star Trek Deep Space Nine. The first season, like most Star Trek series, is more or less "expandable" but DS9 is definitely one of the best Star Trek shows ever made.

Please do an honest review of Star Trek Beyond

Let's all hope Steven Spielberg and Abrams don't collaborate for a movie. One insists on flashing as many spotlights at the camera as possible and the other obviously has a fetish for lens flares. To get all the way through such a movie, theaters would actually have to turn the room lighting up as opposed to dimming, otherwise risk eye damage.

There's no debating that Shatner's "KHAAAN!!!" is better than Quinto's, right? I mean, if you like ham, you go to the butcher's shop and get the best, right?

Quinto's successfully conveys the reaction of a gay guy whose boyfriend just died. Shatner's reminded me of a middle-aged, formerly-blond dude whose hair stylist just colored him as a brunette by mistake.

In the original move that wasn't William Shatner overacting. That was James T. Kirk fooling his enemy into thinking he was defeated. How they could include the scene but lose the entire meaning of it is beyond me.

I didn't quite get what the trailer was making fun of there. I mean the fact that Khan was justified in his actions is kind of the entire point of both the new and original movie.

fadecomic Exactly. If it was more obvious that either Khan wanted to go and try to conquer Earth or some planet upon release, then there'd be some tension and actual villainy.

Back to watch this one since the thumbnail is permanently burned in my mind a memory jog to that epic lensflare song.

I saw Star Trek The Motion Picture in theaters with my dad. I grew up a fan and have seen each movie in theaters. when this came out I purposely avoided anything online about it. thr Kahn twist caught me off guard. I liked it. I wish they did something original, but they didn't and since I still really liked it.

HISHE + Honest Trailers should work together more often!
