    One time in university, I brought a big bucket of chocolate ice cream to a potluck/party for my women's group, without bowls, cones, utensils, or even an ice cream scoop, so I think I might be "that person" too. It was at someone's house, but university students often don't have enough dishes and utensils for a whole party full of guests. It ended up in the host's freezer, because we were all full from the homemade desserts that other people brought. Now, at the time, I was young, and I was living in a university residence without a kitchen, so I bought the ice cream right before the party, but looking back, I don't know what I was thinking, except, "there'll be about 20 people to feed, everyone likes ice cream, and it's only five dollars." At the very least, a box of cones and a scoop would have made my contribution a little less useless.

    +Ace of Cubic Zirconia No, that's a cookout. And it's not a barbecue if it isn't slow cooking the meat. In order to be BBQ, it has to have Native American roots. Puerto Rican lechonera and barbacoa are more BBQ than this. This is a cookout at which they are grilling things.

  • @garrusn7702

    @garrusn7702

    +Ace of Cubic Zirconia A barbecue is a cooking apparatus that involves smoking or slow roasting meats by indirect heat. And the meats cooked that way are called barbecue or barbecued meat. Sauce has NOTHING to do with it. Most barbecue is made without sauce. What is barbecue sauce? That ketchup and molasses stuff white people in Maine slather on chickens? That's not what people actually use, even in Kansas City, which is what that's copying.
