Honda Type R /10th Gen Civic CLEAR Tail Lights Project Pt 1!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Sorry for this one being such a long one, it took over 4 days to complete the project, so this was condensing down the video from multiple days without making it multiple videos. Overall I am soo happy with how the tail lights turned out and can't wait to get them on the Type R! To keep the video from being any longer, the installation video will be separate! Please note that it's very easy to damage your tail lights attempting this and that this is just how "I" did this project. If you attempt to do this, know that it's at your own risk of damaging your property ! I hope you enjoy the content! See you in the next one, for the install!

It’s great that you are showing the process versus time lapses that a lot of You Tubers understandably do. Looking forward to the install video …

Thank you for this great tutorial! I’m doing my second set of tail lights with this method and I’m enjoying these lil projects, but one question. How did you secure the clear plastic piece in the smaller light? I can’t figure out where or how to get the plastic weld to stick, let alone fit the soldering iron in there. I resorted to gorilla glue, but now I gotta open it again as it did not hold for too long

Hi 👋 ! Thank you, I just put plastic weld in between the plastic piece and the housing. Hopefully that makes sense!

Hi I am currently trying to follow your guide! Im having a hard time finding where to trace my cut for the main taillight as your video just skipped the whole cutting and to the closing of the tails

Hi 👋. I tried to show all I could. It was already a long video lol. You just have to do a similar outline as the smaller lights. Then as showed in the video you plastic weld them shut. Hope that helps.

Thank you! The tail light has to have a clear outer lens in order to work! I believe the sedan has a red outer lens, but I’m not positive. I will be uploading the install video for Saturday morning!

How did you hold the led light on smaller housing since once you remove the red diflector it has so much play and can fall down

Correct. The sedans don’t share the same tail lights as the hatchback! The sedans clearly have a red outlet lens. The hatchbacks have a clear lens red inside.
