Great little bikes man!! For me, it was time to slow down a bit and see the sights. I've had 100hp bikes, been broken up by them and learned to ride as good as I could for 30 years. Not sure how good that is lol, but this little bike like you said carries all my camping gear, cost almost nothing to get you there and is just as fun as any other bike I've ever owned. I still love my old worn out DR, but this little bike sure does the trick when I wanna just ride and see the sights and get to camp. I went down a favorite road of mine a few weeks after I had gotten the CT I had been down 100s of times on other bikes, bigger bikes with way more hp. As I turned down the road I started looking around for things to see. I'd been riding this road for 25 years, that day I found out that road had 4 waterfalls and an old wooden bridge leading to another trail on it. It's a tight twisting road, and I have never been down it on a small, slower bike. That's why I love this machine. Congrats on it man. Subbed today!!

Thank for the sub! It is a fun little bike for sure. I love my DR and all the other bikes I own or have owned but there is something about the little 125 that just feels different.

I bought my CT 125 because the trails near are small and I just can't get my KLR 650 and TW 200 down any of them. It might be that I am not a big guy, and both those bikes are very heavy. The KLR is so top heavy and when you can't reach the ground it becomes a huge problem in the woods and I typically only ride on paved or dirt roads. The TW is like riding a big fat fourwheeler without the advantage of having 4 wheels to balance. I have 8500 miles on my CT in less than a year now and the fun don't stop, I can go almost anywhere!

I love the CT125 and my DR650 but I want a TW200. I want to use the TW as a "go between" the CT and the DR. If the CT125 was just a little more powerful and a little faster it would be perfect. Maybe one day I'll do a big bore kit on it but I think having a TW200 would end up being a better choice over the big bore kit.

I bought my Trail 125 last winter and drove it some in the snow. Last summer I only went through 1 tank of gas in my truck, except for the drive to and from Newfoundland. I put 3000 miles on my Trail. Best investment ever. I am still using it around our remote Northern area for shopping and hunting. As gas rises and the electric conversion his, these will be the transportation of the future for average folks and old (77) guys like me. Log it.

Nice...I'm not the only older dude interested in this bike. After owning many bikes from 60 to 1300cc I still want something small, light and maneuverable for getting to and exploring unfamiliar trails in the bush that I usually pass on with my Aftrica Twin or even XR650. In hindsight, I think my small bore bikes were the most fun for this reason...we went everywhere except a busy highway. I would insure all my bikes each yr if it wasn't for the high cost.

Enjoying your video. I think it's fun to get back to our roots in bikes and riding small bore bikes is a way to do it. (I started on a used '67 120cc Kawasaki back in the spring of '69!) Also, riding a small bore with limited suspension slows the pace down, thus insuring we take in the sights more, as well as more time to avoid unexpected circumstances that can happen when riding dirt. As for semantics: I simply say you're riding "dirt". For me, "dirt" is a catch all phrase. To what extent one wants to ride "dirt" is up to them to define, anything from forest roads to extreme/hard enduro. I care not. Simply put: You're a dirt rider. What area is this? Are there lots of miles of dirt roads like you're on? Wild Child (the wife) would really enjoy such roads aboard her KLX 140L DS bike. (And I would to, aboard one of my bikes!)

Finished your video. You've got some good thought points going. Absolutely agree on the "lower and lighter" bike philosophy. I've been practicing that personally for a few years now and it's paying off big time. The confidence the ability to sit flat footed on a bike brings to the rider cannot be underestimated. I no longer have the desire to ride too tall/too heavy bikes for exactly the reasons you are just now discovering. Good ride experience video and interesting dialogue! 👍

Look up fun in the dictionary, you may see the Honda Trail 125! Incidentally, your video was excellent! I love how you showed different angles of the bike itself instead of the road ahead. Almost all bike videos bore me to death showing the ground or road in front of the rider. Boring!

Shame Honda is not offering the trail 125 with the option of having the manual 5 speed transmission like offered o the Monkey. Also Honda is bringing the XR150 to the U.S.A. for 2023 which has the upright cylinder configuration basically the same design as was offered back in the 80's. That has a simpler carbureted system, 5 speed manual transmission, around a 3 gallon fuel tank and also retains the Kickstarter as a back up to the e-start and that is supposed to msrp for $2971 plus $100 prep and $200 freight so under $3300. The bike has been offered in other markets such as Asia and Africa I believe since 2017. Supposedly there is already a pretty good aftermarket on that bike including a 200cc big bore kit. Smaller lighter bikes allow even experienced riders to get back to going offroad riding and actually enjoying the scenery at the slower pace. As an older retired person the fast paced knarley types of riding is in my rearview. I rather think what I like doing now as more leisurely off road exploring which a small bike or a mini excels at. Another advantage is they are so light for long hauls on the pavement just throw them up on a hitch carrier and unload where you want to ride. That works great for camping even in national park campgrounds and having a base vehicle to carry your gear and explore all day/multi day long in different areas. Enjoy the ride, you really see a lot more at the slower speeds!
