This comment is 9 years old. Lol but I still say never use Honda if u don't have to. They wanted over 1K to replace bad automatic door roller. My husband & I were able to do it in less than an hour. Was a little hard to keep the door propped & safe, & lining the new roller up was a little hard. But I refuse stealerships! I won't even take my car to a mechanic unless I absolutely can't fix it. I'm going to school soon to become a mechanic because I get frustrated with how a lot of shops do folks. They're not all bad, I've found some great mechanics in my day. But the average person with no car knowledge is almost always sold something extra they don't need!

@@victoriagirdler4795this is a very general statement that could be applied to so many places nowadays with automotive services. it’s truly sad that if I’m not competent enough to repair my own car then I get screwed by some shop that overcharges for everything, and then try to tell me I need way more done than needed..

Had my van for about five years. Never knew where the cabin filter was located. Thanks for the video! Found mine, and behold, it had NO filter in the tray. The dealer must have taken it out and never installed a new one. My system was running non filtered air all this time.

OMG it was obvious mine had never been cleaned; the junk had almost completely filled the baffles of my filter! Thank you, buddy! BTW, those two clips you point out at 1:32 are accessible from the outside of the glove box. They are tough but you can squeeze them towards one another so the stop slips out without tear-out. Ripping them through by prying with the screwdriver can break an arm off or damage the side at exactly the spot the arms are supposed to grab!

I have done the filter change on my 2003 several times and was planning to follow that procedure. I am REALLY glad I decided to see if the process was any different for an '09. WAY WAY better design! Your very well lighted and thoroughly explained video made all the difference in the world! Thank you so much. When I bought my '03 back in 08, I was given ALL the service records from the original owner. His papers made the claim that certain things had been performed. But upon learning how to access the cabin air filter it became apparent they NEVER changed that filter (I bought it with 113K mileage, way overdue for the filter.) because the structural member that was part of the dashboard assembly was still intact. This really made me want to tell anyone who relies on their dealership to do what they are supposed to do, to perhaps make any reasonable effort necessary to truly make certain the dealer does EXACTLY what they are supposed to do!I am a DIY guy, so I take it upon myself to learn to repair things myself. So I really value videos like yours that are well planned and executed!!!

Video was excellent. I used a Purolator Cabin Filter C35519, from Advance Auto Parts. Cost is $20.99. The first filter from Purolator was a bit too long, but 2nd one worked fine. Yet the first one could have been cut with a razor blade to fit. Also Honda had broken the slide connection off located on the left side. It didn't hurt the operation or function of the clove compartment.

We have a sliding door light on, and our right rear passenger sliding door won't open. We pull the #7 driver fuse to re-set/re-home the system, and the door then works again - but only two times, then the warning light comes back on and the door won't open.
