Love android Auto. Have it on my NT 1100. I'm using the AA wireless adapter and after a few connection issues I'm now finally running fine. One thing I would say is yes use a good USB lead but clean the usb socket by inserting and removing a usb plug many times to clean the contacts. Remember the sockets are open to atmosphere damp etc not nice and dry and clean like your PC. Nice to see another unit works. I mounted mine under the seat with a 2mtr lead, and I modified the Rubber cap. Will be 3D printing a better cover in time. Nice video thanks for sharing.

The lead is crucial. 👍 I tried lots of different ones collected over the years. About half seem to be non-data / charge only. These fitted the plug fine. The other half did data/charging, but nearly all were too big for the USB cover. Fortunately I had one which did both. On the whole though I do miss a separate gps - mainly because it has all my routes in it. But I shall persevere 👍

Did you pair a headset? I have trouble with my android auto disconnecting and restarting while riding, i think it might be due to my headset. If you did pair a headset what headset do you use?

I did not. I don't want music/phone in my head when riding. It keeps trying to make me but I just choose 'Do not pair'. I have a Cardo Spirit to talk to DrJ, a basic device. 👍

I have done this it works very well the only problem is you cannot go into bike settings mode, the bike will only switch between display and AA

I've not had this issue. In neutral I just tap the clock and settings appear.

How long does it take from turning the ingnition on, until the AA scren comes on (the last app used) with the dongle compared to wired AA ? I'm using a smaller dongle for half the price from amazon and it works perfect with any data cable I tried. But to me it takes really long until AA is ready. Your dongle is known for connectivity issued and you're lucky that the new cable works :) Unfortunately, my small dongle has a fixed and pretty short cable attached. But I sticked it onto the larger rubber plug that covers the USB connector. I have had no water problems so far. BTW. When pushing the starter after AA is running it doesn't disconnect or starts over to reconnect. Maybe it has to do with the small dongle as it also keeps the power for a few seconds when turning off the ignition on my NT.

It's early days. I find it connects a bit slower than my phone alone, but is quicker if the phone is already running the app. Since I charged the bike battery it seems to stay connected on start up, so probably the weak bike battery was to blame, we'll see. As I said I'm just finding my way with this (no pun intended). I like the hands free bluetooth connectivity and so far reliability. I guess time will tell. So far, so good. Thanks for watching and useful feedback. Much appreciated 👍
