this happened to me at the store and immediately I tried my valet key (normal non remote key [a.k.a. backup key]), and I fixed it asap in about 30 seconds and never had a problem again thank God. have a good day

This works. Just had a mechanic looked at my 04 pilot an they was trying to change my fuel pump but thank to this video I just saved money I didn't have to spend

2006, Honda Element. The car doesn't start. The blinking green key comes on and doesn't go off, I checked the under-hood fuse box. #6 ECU 15 amp fuse was bad. Replacement fixed the issue. Thank you all for your time and post. This all helped me to diagnose the issue. I truly appreciate this.

I literally spent the last two hours trying to figure out why my Pilot wouldn’t start. I thought I checked every fuse and relay until I was about to give up. I turn the car on and see the green key flashing and then found your video. Thanks for saving my sanity. Great video.

I was having the same problem today on my Honda Freed. Fortunately my 8yrs old son had told me that I left the dashboard lights on and he put them off. I noticed the battery might have gone down. I recharged it and the problem was solved. Though your video is very informative. A thumbs up from Kenya.

You are still saving owners money. I misread the obd 4 to 9 jumper and blew the same fuse as yours. What was puzzling about it was the engine acted like it wasn’t getting fuel. It would crank over just fine. It had nothing to do with a fuel pump relay or a broken key fob. Thanks again for sharing!!

We had this happen on our 2008 Honda Pilot on one of the keys, but it was starting fine with the Honda factory key and keyfob. What had happened was, we ordered a new keyfob shell for the broken keyfob and it turns out there is a little transponder chip that you have to transfer to the new keyfob. This video helped me track that down so thanks!

Spot on. Tested every fuse, all checked out. Pulled the ACG S, cleaned and plugged back in. All is working, must have just been loose. Never would have found this otherwise. Saved me $$ and headache. Have a beer on me.

@@terenasaldana8745for the Honda Civic 2013. The ACG is in the fuse box underneath the driver dashboard. I couldn’t find it in the hood. But mine said ACG, not ACG S… not sure

Thanks so much for posting this. The vehicle locksmith, after carrying out a diagnostic test, told me the ECU had failed and would cost £2k+ to repair and my car was probably a write-off! Checked the fuse, it wasn’t blown but tarnished. A quick clean, popped it back in and bingo, it started!

Same exact thing happened to me. Although, I changed the fuse for ACG on my 2013 Honda civic and it still is flashing. He quoted me on replacing the ECU + programming my key.

Wow... so helpful. Had the tow truck on the way... saved the day and a lot of $$$. Turns out my new key fob had invoked the security and I was trying to start the Ridgeline with just the key with the microchip. Once I got the FOB back involved she started right up.

This was EXACTLY what happened to me this morning and your video/explanation was EXACTLY what I needed!!! Thanks SO much (and, YES, I DID subscribe!)!!!

OMG....after 2 hrs of troubleshooting, I had no idea this car had an immobilizer....my key had broken and the car wouldn't start....glued the key and fob together and voila....thanks a bunch...btw this happening helped me realized battery was almost dead.

Just got a car and had this issue for a 2017 hatchback. I put a little metal design thing for my gf where the king ring goes, turns out it was that that was preventing my car front starting up thank you so much for the help !!

You are a the man! Thank you so much. I haven’t figured out what tripped the fuse yet, but this video helped me get home when I was stranded 3 hours away in a podunk town at 3 AM with my 13 year old daughter. We made it home. Now I’m going to go and try to figure out the cause/problem. I can’t thank you enough.

Thank you so much! This solved my problem on my Acura Integra, changed my fuel pump, distributor cap and rotor, nothing worked. Tried your method and it works! The only difference is the fuse is located in the hood labeled "small light" 15A. Subscribed and thumbs up! Everyone check their fuse first before buying anything!

I have a 2014 Honda Pilot and found your vid. I checked the fuse and even got a brand new one and didn't solve problem. Then I decided to try jumping the battery with my other car. BAM! It started. I immediately replaced the battery. So my car gets the GREEN KEY symbol when battery has failed. So, there's something people can try. But thanks for posting. It helps to consider all possibilities

I tried jumping mine and it started right up. The battery that I have is less than three months old from the dealership. If it does it again it’s going back.

WOW...you are amazing. My daughter was trying to bling out her car and placed a bling ring around the ignition...car would start and turn off. Went so far to call AAA for a jump. So, when she told me she placed the bling ring on the car that morning, did my research and found your video. Removed the bling ring and voila...car starts with no issue. JESUS bless you...you came through for us.

Lmao the bling ring, I did that today. My car was starting and would only go in reverse, even in drive&neautral. Locked up wheel, no turning range. Was in a small parking lot and began to panic. Looked at my new wheel cover and then the bling ring, popped it right off - started up and drove just fine. Damn bling rings haha

I finally was able to get it to turn over to bad I was only sold one key with this vehicle thank you anyway you save me a lot of trouble I haven’t renewed my AAA yet so I don’t know what I would’ve done

Worked for me, thanks a million man! I've been going crazy pulling my hair out and firing the parts canon. Replaced fuel pump because I'm pretty sure I needed to do that anyway, replaced crank sensor I'm pretty sure needlessly, was about to consider replacing injectors once I discovered they weren't firing. Spent some time and money I didn't need to, I didn't even know a 98 Honda had an RFID key system. Spent 10 minutes this morning to pull the ECU and pop that sucker off the board and my car started on the first try!

Thanks for the video. In my case it was #8 15A fuse (FI-ECU), Honda Odyssey 2005. First I was on the wrong track (IMMO forgot my key codes, etc.). After seeing your video decided to check all the fuses. Saved me some big bucks. Above all probably saved me a day at least (dealing the locksmith, dealer, etc.)...

I had the same problem and found this other guy on KZread. Key lights was blinking green and no start at all. Had a few mobile mechanics locksmith and at the end it turn to be the starter. Key was fine. When it fist started the car didn't turn on one day and we assumed the key was the problem. Good luck!

Thank you Sooo much for that, it fixed my problem ("the green flashing key"). Mine was a little different. My wife bought my daughter some decorations for her car. One was a jewel-be-speckled ring to go around the ignition ring. When you mentioned the sensor under the ignition key switch I thought that could be the problem because she just put the décor on yesterday and hadn't tried to go anywhere yet, and this never happened before Once again thank you very much, you probably saved me $$$$, I was planning to take the car to our mechanic tomorrow to get it fixed. OMG I HAD ONE TOO IT’S FIXED NOW

You saved me man. I found the chip in my key laying on the ground and didn’t know what it was until you mentioned it 😭

I had this issue with a 2004 Honda Pilot, but it was intermittent. I found that a tap on the steering wheel allowed the car to start, but that was a temporary fix. After going through all possibilities, including the immobilizer ring suggestion which was ruled out because Honda has discontinued offering this part, I took the car to a mechanic and explained the business with the tapping of the wheel. He called back in an hour or so to inform me the problem was fixed. Apparently there is a little relay box located at the base of the steering column, and by tapping that he was able to start the car. He replaced this unit and no more problem.

You Sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. That fixed it!

Dude I'm so glad you posted this video. 🎉🎉🎉💯 I the green key symbol was the answer. I had trouble before when my key fob battery. Went dead. After I locked the car. I replaced the battery and the car started. My key fob is broke. So starting the car with the key and not the fob in hand the car went out start . After watching your video I understand now how the security system works thank you so much.

Thanks man! Good info! Just bout a crank-no-start 98 Accord, it's the first Honda I've had new enough to have that "feature" (last one was a 92). I didn't know something that miniscule could cause a no-start on a car almost 30 years old. I just got done replacing the crank position sensor in 25F weather and am about to start pulling my hair out. I had no idea the flashing key light was a warning. Swapping the fuse out for a new one didn't do anything, but at least now I have something specific to diagnose.

2008 Honda Accord is giving me the same issue. Just bought it today! (My luck) I only received a Valet key with no fob. Had no issues with the green key light after 6-7 errands. After reading 199 comments, I was amazed to see someone mention a decorative diamond stick ring being the culprit!! That's the first thing I'm gonna pry off in the morning! I'm gonna guess that even this valet key has a chip that needs to communicate with the system. Fingers crossed for this!

It worked. My 2004 Honda Civic had the flashing key light problem until I replaced the 15 amp fuse for “small light” as indicated in the user manual chart for fuses under the hood. It was number 2 on the chart and and I used one of the spare fuses in the fuse box. Before that I had to turn the key around to stop the flashing and even then I had trouble starting the car.

Can I ask, how did you know you had to change that fuse instead? I have a 2013 Honda Civic, I changed my ACG still didn’t work. I know it may be a bigger problem but..

My wife had put a vanity ring around key hole earlier in day and after seeing you point to where reader is in video I realized it was blocking signal, removed it and green flashing light went away, car started.. Very glad I noticed you pointing that out briefly

My 2009 Honda CRV also has this ussue. I have been able to fix it every time, and it's happened quite a few times, by removing the key from the ignition, then using the fob to lock then unlock the doors. I then reinsert the key, turn 2 clicks, wait a few seconds then start the car. So far this is work every time for me.

Awesome. I blew the fuse by shorting the osb port. Thought I had fried the immobiliser. Used your method. On my 04 accord uk. The fuse is marked as engine management but its still a 15 a fuse. 2 min fix. Much obliged

EXACTLY what I'd done (shorted the OBD port) following another KZread tutorial in how to turn off VSA and /!\ lamps on my '04 MDX. Found the AGS fuse with the help of your video, wifey helped me find the spare 15A fuse I was overlooking, replaced and MDX starts. Cancelled the tow truck!

I somehow broke the reader inside the key. My second key works. Thanks for the help!

I am up in the cold north and my dear little 2004 Honda with very few miles, turned over but wouldn't catch. I saw the flashing green light, looked it up in the manual, called the helpful Honda dealership and they said it was electrical and needed to be reprogrammed. Called CAA to have it towed as it was in the way of the plow's route. Then, I thought I'd look it up and see if there was any video on it. Sure enough, I found this one and even though my Honda is not the same year and the fuse boxes are not in the same location, I pulled a few things off and found it. Used my keys to pull out the 15 fuse where it had the initials for the fuel immobilizer, or at least I guessed something to that effect. With two keys, I pried the fuse in question out and easily accessed the spare, popped it in and the car turned over like a charm. Thank you "Check It Out"! I cancelled CAA and saved myself who knows how much as the dealership didn't have to look at it!

Hi! By chance do you have a Honda Civic? I have a 2013 Honda Civic and I’m wondering if I need to change the same fuse you are talking about. I changed the ACG fuse on the box underneath the drivers wheel and still have this issue. I know it may the the immobilizer or ECU but will rule out this before paying $$$…

@@nathalien4457 Yes, I have a Honda Civic 2004, and followed the video. Found the fuse he was talking about, found the spare, changed it and it worked. I was sure to go out and purchase another fuse to replace the spare. Not sure if this helps but this is exactly what I did. Good Luck!

Bought a Honda civic that was having this problem on and off intermediately for the past 2 years finally got tired of it and fixed it 😭🤣. Not proud that it took me 2 years to look into it but I did more then the previous owner who changed out the entire PCM trying to fix it

Did you ever plug a bluetooth code reader in the OBDII port ? I did see a "61-1 voltage malfunction" code and the fuse was ok. My immobilizer was blown once, 2nd time it had to be reseated, really don't want get stuck way out there again.

My dad has been dealing with this issue for THREE YEARS!! Trying everything under the sun with no luck. Countless hours, money down the drain, lots of frustration. Fixed it today!!! Secondary relay on the backside of the fuse box! Green light comes on now to start the car when needed! This secondary relay controls security, fuel pump & 5 other things I can’t remember. side note, we replaced the computer, main relay, immobilizer, switch & key, ect & nothing had worked until now. See countless pages, forums ect on this issue with little to no luck at the end. TRY THIS!!

I had the same issue being intermittent - pulled my ACG fuse #4 under the dash. It looks tarnished. I'm replacing and keeping fingers crossed.

Well, all that was wrong with mine was the tumblers. I watched a video showing that after you remove the ignition cylinder you can start the car with a flat head screwdriver. It did turn the motor a few times, but wouldn't crank. Suddenly the green key light started flashing and now nothing will turn. The little slot where I was turning the screwdriver also locked and wont turn. I think i caused more damage.

You just saved us tons of time and money!!
