    KZread changed the way they monetize my content. My channel now needs 1,000 Subscribers so it would be AWESOME if you could show your support by both watching my videos and subscribing to my channel if you have not already done so. Monetizing my videos allows me to invest back into the channel with new equipment so a small gesture from you goes a huge way for me. Many thanks for your support !

    Thanks so much for the tutorial. I recently purchased a 2018 model with 121 total miles on it! So it's a new bike. Though I've had a number of bikes, none with the complexity of this DCT model and its dashboard. I will be returning to this tutorial frequently. Thanks again.

    After bought my bike 15 months ago, I still don't understand the possibilities on the dashboard. Now, after seeing your video, I must say it is very welcome additional help next to manual instruction from the book! In fact, this video should make it easier to create the best results for your own use. The main problem is: there are a lot of possibilities on the dashboard which make me pretty dizzy..... but don't worry, I will survive this issue..... like the others, right?

    Excellent tutorial. I agree with you that Honda have placed far too much emphasis on ‘colours’ and overlooked other key requirements such as ambient temperature gauge and a range fuel gauge. The menu can be very confusing for newbies so this video makes things that bit easier. Thank you.

    Hello, you can put your personal settings when it comes to gears shifting, adjusting at what revs your gears will change. I personnaly make it simple: manual mode for the city rides or very twisty roads, or S1 for long boring roads. Sometimes S3 its also good for some curvy roads.Hope that helps! Also on my video check out this minute 08:40 - this is the SHIFT menu.

    Thanks, great video of the Honda NC 750 DCT. Agree, this dash is full of useless flashy colors. It seems like it has been designed by someone who does not actually use a bike. >No ambient outside temperature gauge >No BIG flashing orange light for low fuel / reserve >No engine coolant temp gauge (would be nice, not essential) >No electronic throttle ("drive by wire") to manage throttle response in idle, stop/go traffic. Difficult to control bike in maneuvering idle speed situations because there is no manual clutch to slip in slow turns and maneuvering at crawling speed. >No combined front / rear brakes (no combined ABS). It has ABS on front and rear independently, so full emergency breaking is NOT combined front and rear.

  • @IdealBike

    @IdealBike

    Hi there! Very pertinently observations! Regarding the throttle by wire: I myself two times but also a friend of mine same bike - pushed by accident the throttle, it's sensitive especially if you have thicker gloves and you don't feel 100% the percentage of twisting the throttle, that's one good observations. Thanks a lot and Greetings!

    Hello and congrats for this very well made vid. One question : I had my bike yesterday and as I look at the date entered, I see : 2016. It is a « of the store » and brand new one. Does it mean that the bike was assembled in 2016 or this date is just insignificant ? Thank you for your reply and all the best to you! Francis

    2016 it's the date when the bike entered into the country, which means that the bike was produced lately in 2016. It's not such an issue if the bike has 0 Km. Still need to check better for eventually rust, tyres, coolant, brake liquid, engine oil, due to the fact that in time, these fluids are loosing their proprieties. Greetings!

    Warning about - lack of - accuracy with the fuel indicator: Those stated 3.2 liters left when the last bar of the fuel gauge starts to flash are apparently calculated, not measured! How much is really left, seems to depend on the conditions the bike was moved when the tank was still full. I had a case when I ran out of fuel while the last bar wasn't even flashing yet. Fuel consumption was higher than usual then (about 4.5 liters/100km, running dry after 320 km) , possibly because of driving against strong wind most of the time. But whatever the actual reason, the fuel gauge tricked me into believing that I had more fuel left than was really remaining. Therefore I wouldn't take the stated amount of 3.2 liters remaining when the last bar starts to flash as granted. I now fill up after not later than 300km, not relying on the fuel gauge any longer, and tend to carry a small (filled) 3 liters jerrycan with me, Measured, not calculated.

    Hello! At the very beginning, after buying the bike,there was also a difference on my side regarding the fuel indicator versus the gas pump. But after few days, I never ever had differences. Both measurements are identical. Could be indeed in your case, that leaning the bike on the back, could influence the gasoline sensor.

    I agree about all the colors - who cares, put a damn compass on the dash. How many times have you been out on an "adventure" bike and wonder what direction you are going? They put a compass on most car dashes and they rarely get used but on a bike where it would get used alot, they don't.

    Honda should listen to it's customers and react fast, we are in 2020 and the technology it's so advanced the expectations are higher and higher. We just ask for functional, usefull and updated to 2020 features. Seems like we still have to wait for it when it comes to the Dashboard.

    I think Honda is the only manufacturer which does not engine temperature indicator!! I can't understand why ?! 😡 I had several motorcycles and almost every one boiled at least once, with temperature indicator you immediately see that something is not OK, flow hose, thermostat, fan blower, coolant vessel ,coolant housing, it can all be damaged, when temperature red light, lights up on, that temperature engine is high, then it's over, engine is already damaged! an incredible omission of HONDA !!!! I can not believe it! 😡

    Next to the absolutely terrible seat, the LCD dash has to be the worst thing about this fantastic bike. Honda ! just give us 2 proper analog dials like you used to fit to bikes. They work and are easily understood with just a short glance. Failing that, could you make the slope of the display adjustable to suit the riders height &/or sun position? It is strange that Honda has made the indicator warning light not very visible in daylight and yet they have allowed the high beam warning light to be absolutely blinding at night...
