Thanks for your video! I was at my GF's without many tools and it gave me confidence to go ahead. I have these tips after replacing her Metropolitan's rear tire (had just under 5,000 miles on it): 1) Easy way to get the wheel off: Put your socket wrench on the nut and take any play out (in the direction of loosening), hold the tire with your hand, then hit the end of the wrench with a hammer. That breaks the nut free. Worked first time for me. 2) If you've got large enough bolt or wire cutters (to sever the steel reinforcing wires), it may be easier to cut the old tire off. I used a C-clamp to push the edges of the tire away from the rim so it wouldn't be damaged by the cutters. 3) I couldn't get the tire to seat against the rim with the little air pump I keep in my car so went to the nearest gas station and their tire inflator did the trick. 4) Recommended torque value for the wheel nut is 87 ft-lbs (118 N-m). Some auto parts places will let you borrow a torque wrench.

My son got a quote the other day from the Honda dealer in our town to replace both tires, check and grease the bearings and inspect the brakes $140.

I suggest that you have someone else sit on the bike and hold the back brake before you do anything else just to brake the nut on your rear tire free. Have them sit back on it to tighten it back when you are done.

You are using the adjustable wrench ass backwards. Good way to round off the nut.

I'm looking on youtube to find how people inflate their Metropolitan scooter tires... there is no room for a air compressor nozzle.. looked for a fexible nozzle but need a right angle nozzle adapter... still looking for one. I also saw the washer come out and thought it was in the oil container... Also you changed the oil, did you clear any debris from the strainer basket (I believe they all have the strainer basket).

I don't remember if I cleaned the strainer, will have to look next time. Yes, stock stems are a pain. I put a 90 degree bend one in the back.

My Jazz (Metropolitan the USA) has 24,000KM on it and the rear tire was not as worn as yours at replacement. What's the millage on that rear tire?

I only had 7,500KM. I must have run under-inflated for a while or something.

Next time getting the tire off, spray it down with some soapy water on both sides off and back on.
