Honda Hornet 250cc
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
A walk-around film of my Honda Hornet 250cc bike, which was for sale, featuring all the great upgrades it had (I forgot to mention the custom black and gold paint job). It has now been sold. I loved every minute of my time on it, but it was time for the Black Beauty to go to a new home!

I own this bike now. Love it to bits. looks the part too.
Great learner bike! Loved my Honda Hornet.
Hi, I commuted on it for a year in NZ where the speed limit is 100kph/ 60mph. At that speed you're doing about 8k revs, about halfway up the rev range. It is a little noisy, but it's a 250 so that's a given, but it's totally manageable. It was of course a relief to step up to an SV650 when I passed my test, but to answer your question, they are more than happy to cruise economically and reliably around motorway speeds.
I liked the Look of the upswept Stock Exhaust but you have a point regarding passenger leg heat. The headlight mods look great. Liquid cooled on a little 250cc means the motor will stay cool and Last alot longer than a air cooled. 4 cylinders/16valves means tune-ups/valve adj will cost much more.
Hi, All I can tell you is that they are Buell headlights with a custom bracket to fit them and an off-the-shelf smoked flyscreen. The work was done before I owned it, so that's all I know. Good luck! It would make a fun project and I think it totally transforms the look of the Hornet for the better!
now that beatiful review defines my choice.
Really nice clean bike, I to just purchased a 96 Hornet 250 in white with 28,000Km. Bike has been fantastic on my L's

yes, very good for a beginner if your country's laws allow for it. it was my first bike and i learnt on it. the only issue is that you must be confident as it is larger than many learner bikes.
its roaring away there , sounding slightly different from my cbr250rr though the engine is pretty much the same
@GregDucati Thanks for taking the time to comment... 1- I don't ride with pillions and 2- I ride 365 days a year and amazingly, that cut down mudguard still worked a treat.
I'm puzzled... it didn't stall and revved to crazy engine speeds around 18,000 from memory. AMAZING sound !
Damn i wish you were selling it around now.... i definately would have bought it :( I seriously want/need one of those bikes!
Thanks for the reply!
Hey I was wondering if you could tell me how the hornet does at motorway speeds (60-75mph)? I'm trying to get my hands on one but I don't want to be struggling when I'm going down the road.
what exhaust did you use as i have got a honda hornet 250 and the stock sounds a bit poor??
I think it's a very nice bike, and it's a pity we can't get the 250 Hornet here in the U.S. The 250/300 Kawasaki Ninja has a stranglehold on the lightweight "sport" bike market here. I would much prefer this bike to the Kawasaki. I don't really think of it as a "learner" bike, just a lightweight option. I have had my M1 license (California) for quite a long time and I would love to own one of these bikes.

Thanks James... I agree. I've lost count of the number of times I've been overtaken on track riding a 650cc sports bike, by a better rider on a 250cc bike.
Most Hornet's will get around 220 K's before switching over to reserve, I haven't tested how much I get on that just yet.
@kunimusashi Google translate tells me that you wrote.. "COOL! A Hornet! I ride one too!" Nice ! Thanks for posting from Japan.
in brazil don't have hornet 250 cc,we have the 600 2005 similar
@wolfy1a Sorry, I didn't fit it and it wasn't marked, so I can't help I'm afraid. I think it may have been a carbon sleeve over the standard exhaust without the internal baffles... but really not sure.
Yep, sorry, sold over a year ago. Check my Kriega video to see what replaced it... a gorgeous, loud SV650S!
The Hornet 250 is not available in the UK. In the UK you need a full licence to ride the Hornet 250.
Oh don't worry, I rode it A LOT !
wait a minute, you're in new zealand.. nevermind haha!
@AridersLife Sorry, no idea.... not something I did consciously.
@whyshywank You won't be disappointed!
This makes me so sad that I love in America. I can't find this bike anywhere...
3.12 info about bike starts....

Might be a different model? The frame/ tank/ seat size and layout on this bike was the same as on the similar model larger cc Hornets.

+TassieLorenzo I'm a proper mongrel, you're right. Born in UK to a British father but have spent most of my life outside the UK and the longest spell in NZ where I feel at home. Multiple real passports.... I'm like the Bourne dude just without the fighting skills ;-)

+Gabriel Mota Keep looking! They come up every now and then. The Hyosung equivalents are cool too, just look out for rust on the nuts and bolts.

@ajbs15z exatamente o q pensei. Olha tambem a cb 400 deles la fora. Eh uma maquina. Motor 4 cilindros. Ronca muuuito forte.

I don't know about his maintenance, but the engine sounds great..anyway the exhaust is a cheap shitty sounding one,not even real carbon fiber...i don't think you need any crap modifications for this beautiful beast...price range $2700 to $4500 in Sri Lanka.
