2020 CRF250RX review: • 2020 Honda CRF250RX - ...
Hey guys, there is a cool thing I wanted to share with you, Redmoto is a Honda importer in Italy who offers CRF300RX and CRF400RX to their customers. Is there a hope we can see these bikes on other markets as well?
Every month they send us stuff to look at like new products, maintenance madness, crazy dirt bike fails and other moto stuff from around the web or in motorcycle retailers. Check out the video and let us know what you think! Cheers

I just bought a 2023 CRF250RX and put the Red Moto 300 kit in it. They also have a fuel tank that has the same capacity as the stock muffin top tank. You just need R shrouds after tank install, makes it as skinny as the R. Put a flywheel kit and Tokyo mods ECU reprogram. It is what Honda should sell off the floor. It's an awesome trail bike and I can run it on the Moto track also. I'm 52 so the 450's are not as fun anymore. This one is perfect.

@@ryanpatrick4813 Put a Yoshimura slip on with spark arrestor and had it mapped for pump gas. Power rips on top like a 350, but you can also go slow in the woods especially with the flywheel I put in it. Had the suspension done for vet riding. I'm 220 so they put 450 springs on it. The 300 kit is made by Athena so it's made well. I rode KTM's for years, but I wanted to go back to Honda since I grew up on them in the 80's. Also put a retro graphics kit with gold wheels on it. Red Moto had mapping sent for the kit, but Tokyo mods had a woods map for #2 and a Motocross map for #3. Map 1 can't be changed so when you do the 300 kit it doesn't work at all. It's easy to start and has been reliable. The new clutches on the 22 and 23 are much more durable.

@Woodman49 How are the gear ratios on this bike? seems it would work well in flowing single track but might be a handful in technical or slower trails? I have come so close to building this bike a few times, everything looks great on paper until I get to the transmission. I live Arizona, the terrain can vary from long washes to creek beds loaded with rocks that will not let you get out of first or maybe second gear, I have been looking at the TM 300 4 stroke enduro as an option, appears TM got it right but the dealer sucks in my area. BTW Im 57, have a 23 Husqvarna TX 300 and looking for a different bike to ride and race with, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

It is completely ridiculous how long people have been saying the 250 is not enough and the 450 is too much, yet the Japanese manufacturers have not responded at all. There should have been a Japanese 350 at least 8 years ago and still it takes a 3rd party to build anything close. My head is spinning.

Maybe we should wonder why you and I can't start making dirt bikes. We are not allowed to compete anymore (watch the movie "Tucker"). So here we are, asking for the colors we want. I would lie to start shooting, (plastic injection mold shooting), so retro plastic that fits modern bikes. Because this modern "abstract art plastic", is as ugly as the "Hurricane bike" in the 1986 MX film "Winner takes all", (on YT). I did some surgery on my 2019 YZ250 2-stroke, to get rid of the stupid long arrow look and the "Hercules arm shield" front number plate. I bet you we can grow a plastic company shooting the early 90's "vintage" look. I don't know how you can be seen in public with such ugly plastic. I think KYM started it, as if orange was not ugly enough. :)

Part of the issue with USA market is the government requirements and restrictions. It costs a manufacturer more money to get designs approved for import here in the US (why we have less models available). It’s why I just bought a 2023 Suzuki DRZ 400 (it’s grandfathered), and will slowly mod it to take weight off and tweak it.

Before the 1986 production rule, bikes sold like crazy. That about tripled the cost of a bike in 5 years. Then, the dictatorship EPA with their unlimited government force, imposed the 4-stroke engine on the industry, and prices have over doubled again so fat. Can't wait for electric to be forced on us too? There is no such thing as a dirt bike "selling like crazy" in the USA anymore, (and it must be much worse in Europe with only 15 guys on a 40 rider MXGP gate.). The market was actually over 10 times larger, when people, (kids, like me, buying brand new bikes making $1.00/hr part time starting at the age of 10.), could afford bikes in the USA. What we will most likely see in the next 5 years is bike maker, stop making bikes, because not enough people are buying them. You can thank government and FIM intervention over what we make and buy.

I plan on keeping it and my 19 TM Racing EN300ES 2t forever so put money into them...don't need the latest and greatest if you have good part selection - I care more about my technique, skill, experience, and fitness, and these two bikes certainly help me progress while having fun doing it. As to why the dealers or American Honda won't do it... I'm pretty sure that there are Federal consumer protection laws that require the manufacturers to keep parts available for 5 or 10 years, I'm not sure exactly, for anything they sell directly - off the showroom floor. It is costly to the manufacturers and I'm sure that it's a reason that we don't see stuff with small production runs. Another reason , from personal experience, is that a lot of the dealers have little or no actual passion. Many of the dealer owners that I've spoken to give me the impression that they would be just as happy selling kitchen appliances.

Buying a new bike then having to dump thousands in the suspension and computer mods sucks. Yamaha nailed it with their app and they already have great suspension. All they need to round the WR or FX package out is a 350. There is no hope for Honda except their bikes will still be around for decades cause they don't wear out.

Not one single Japanese bike even has the parts for this, let alone from the showroom floor ready to go. I think the 400 is a great idea, and would suit more people for sure. But we are grunting Men, and men want more all the time, or you will be called a girly man by your friends lol. So maybe its the right bike, but will it sell as a 400....hmmmm

I never said 450 was too much!. I have a bored 500, 525, and 650. Now I'm building a 1000 twin. I want 6 gears and over 100 hp for the mountains I ride. We need to cruise at 90 and have the torque to climb up goat trails. It is 2023 people, where are the light, well suspended bikes with gobs of power that would change the earth's rotation if they got traction. I don't want some buzzy slow to accelerate bike at 80 to 90. I want to be able to ride over the mountain and cross the desert with ease at 90 to 100, and these bikes won't even come close. My ktm 690 came closest stock, but I had to do a lot to make it better offroad. There is nothing like having 80 to 100 hp under you on a light, well suspended dirtbike with 6 gears. But for now, you have to build them yourself still, and this goofy computerized world is not getting any closer to producing a production motorcycle close to what I want.

Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki need to do this. The 350 ktm is the best selling bike on the market from what I understand. The Japanese should compete with the Europeans for market shares. I would have bought a ktm but I didn’t like the price and I didn’t like the way the bike felt under me. A 350 is probably the perfect bike. It only makes 5hp less than a 450. 450s are too much bike.
