    Amazing look and really inspiring product provided by Rebel. Still, can't believe you have to drill the fairing your self......can't believe there is no rubber rings on the plexiglas bolts and applying the stickers for a perfect match its easy said than done. With that told, I still think, I would love to have such a kit on my bike!!! Great Job!

    Manuel Lucchese, brilliant video. I really wish you would do one for a WR450F for european conditions. The Honda has too little power for my liking, unless there is a way to unbridle the motor, so that you get the full power, which is double the 25HP it delivers in Europe.

    Currently working on a couple of WR450F 2020 where on one of them I placed 29 liters of fuel tank, full titanium Akra exhaust etc, not street legal but bike should turn out pretty cool. The other WR450F I have in the workshop I will set it out more on Adventure style so it should have a GPS installed instead of the roadbook holder. Thanks a lot for following the videos!

    Probably for the US bigger indicators the easiest is to install them on the headlight mask or side panels. Alternatively my advise is that if you can change them with some aftermarket smaller ones it shouldn’t be an expensive change. Here in Europe street legal small turn signals are around 29-39 euro

    Thanks for your excellent instruction video's Manuel. Just one question on the fuel tanks : you mentioned that there is a choice between the IMS 11 ltr tank or the Nomad 20 ltr tank. On the RebelX website only the 11 ltr can be selected. Is the Nomad tank not available anymore, or will this come later ?

    Well this is just Great I used a m10x1.25 tap idk what I did wrong but all it did was make the hole bigger I used a 21/64 drill bit cuz that's I guess what 8.3 converts to and now I can't use anything

    You can fix it easily with 2 different approaches. 1 - you put a bigger helicoil (for example for an M10 bolt and make the hole on the Cnc clamp to fit the M10 bolt and problem solved 2- You have any local welder weld aluminium inside the hole so that you can drill it again and tap it correctly.

    hey guys kit installation for a Honda CRF 300 ?

  • @99hawk75
    @99hawk753 жыл бұрын

    Just use Zeta hand guards with the integrated turn signal, problem solved. Love the install video but I do have one question though-Tapping the frame I understand but having to drill on the kit itself? I would understand if the kit cost was like $800 usd and I would expect a few things would have to be done at that price range, But the kit optioned out costing over $2500 usd I kinda would expect the holes and other stuff be ready to go out of the box ready to bolt on because this isn't a cheap or cheaply made kit. You should also seriously consider Torque specs for your products because you're really leaving yourself open to "warranty" claims to people over tightening stuff and causing cracks. Again $800 kit vs $2500. Weather it's working on aircraft or racecars or exotic add on kits for motorcycles, you need to have torque specs so the is no room for mistakes. Awesome looking product though and I just got through installing the Nomad 20l tank so I will order my kit as soon as you get the R&D finished for that tank

    You expect the holes to be drilled by Rebel X? How exactly would that happen then? Shipping the bike to Rebel X so they can drill the hole? As far as torque specs, just use standard torque according to EU or US norms for torques of this kind! If I am Rebel X, I will ask any US customer to sign a waiver against product liability due to over tightening any fastener.

  • @99hawk75

    @@SKgeostrat Well if you read what I said carefully, I said I understand drilling/tapping the holes in the frame. I get that and I understand that that the end user (myself) has to be the one to do that. What I am referring to are the holes to be drilled in the fairing itself. When he says "drill the hole about here" well I didn't design the kit so I don't know where if the areas to be drilled are reinforced or are they marked as to where to drill or am I on my own with a $2000 kit? You understand what my point is? I mean if you're going to sell a product this expensive and have done the R/D on it then post specs with torques of what the designer calls out for. You want to sell me the kit for $800 man i'll figure out the specs myself and be happy. But I think for the price I'll pay I would want more specifics so no mistakes happen due to no information. I'll still try one out when the Nomad fairings are done either way because this kit looks well designed.

    @@99hawk75 I totally understand your point of view, personally I come from racing background and can tell you that for example the torque values given on your motorbike manual are not correct if you race your motorbike, for this reason I don't specify them as it can differ depending on what is your use. Regarding the holes the is an actual reason for not putting them and the main reason is that on tanks there are tolerances that are pretty big due to how blown up a tank is. If the holes were all pre-drilled you wouldn't be able to always have the fairing match perfectly the tank. Lastly the side panels are made in fiberglass which requires much bigger expense rather than have them made in plastic (for example if you see the KTM Exc build I made the headlight mask is made in plastic), the reason for this choice always comes from Dakar racing experience where if you are travelling around the world and crash you want to be able to fix the side panels, if they were made in plastic and had already holes it would crack and you would need a replacement part. This said I totally see your point that as a user you would want something to just receive and bolt on, which I totally agree on, but I think that drilling a 6 holes on a side panel is a 5 minute job (I actually only run 4 bolts on the test bike and also we did not drill the frame on the test bike and kept the OEM hole length inserting only the helicoil and everything held up with no issues).

    @@ManuelLucchese1 I see your point and agree. I have another question, will we be able to purchase replacement panels or parts? I really like the layout of this setup but I plan on doing BDR's here in the United States and i'm sure I will crash a time or 20 and just want to see if I need to maybe pre purchase panels or a windshield maybe. Bravo on this design! Can't wait to order mine when you have the 20l tank setup. Keep us posted!

    Do NOT follow what he said about torque specs. It is a necessary step to make sure that whatever a nut or bolt is securing does not come loose and cause more damage/repair. A very stupid suggestion of not torqueing and go by how many bolts or nuts lost after driving/riding.
