From my memory, Yoshimura has been making Great stuff since the '70s.
Either way I love the sound of the single cylinder 4 stroke (even wth the stock pipe), surely the Yoshimura is more of a baritone growl, good choice as soundtrack since while filming with an helmet camera it tends to pick up more the mechanical noise than the exhaust. Great video, enjoyed it!
Had the rs4 yoshimura on my 2017 250l. It cleaned up the flat spot on the 2017-2020 models in lower rpms. Some other brands of exhaust add more to the top rev range but not enough back pressure to help with low end.
Great job on the video. And your 300 sounds even better in person, with the yoshi!
Your review is awesome
Sounds nice. I actually like how quiet mine is. I’m always in ninja mode as I creep through the woods. Now if I was commuting in the city I’d make it louder. I don’t mind the weight loss though. Thanks

Thanks for the vid. You don't have a link to the spart arrestor you used do you ? perhaps add to the show notes ? sometimes the smallest difference can get you a different sound/result with this stuff.
I have a 2013 CRF250L. I put the FMF megabomb header and the Q4 on it. It did help the power but it is very loud. Even with the Q4 it's still too loud. I wouldn't mind having the 300L, but I would leave it stock. Now that comms are a thing, and they are nice to have, a loud exhaust is a detriment.
@johnridesadv2512
2 жыл бұрын
I agree. Not sure why nobody makes a quiet exhaust for the bike. FMF Q4 is their quiet series muffler, but it's still very loud on the 250L and will be on a 300 as well. By contrast, the CRF450RL with a Q4 muffler is barely louder than stock, and the Yoshi is just a bit louder. Neither is as loud as the 250L though. Can't figure out why, other than maybe they had to make the muffler shorter to clear the stock turn signals.

Just got my pipe yesterday waiting on the spark arrestor and the actual bike lol did you reuse the exhaust donut from Honda or did you buy a new one?
Wow I can't believe how expensive that Yoshi system is, way too much to justify for me. No doubt it looks good, but think it would be too loud for our trails in the UK. I went for the Moto X from Bikerbits £200 for a complete stainless system, not too loud but sounds much better than stock system, is about 3.5 to 4kg lighter and great quality.

So with some items what can happen is your bike can run more "lean" which means more air to fuel, and in doing so will make it run hot. Usually this is only possible of you have more air going in as well. So like a K&N filter ect. It can't run lean if your bottleneck is the snorkel on the air box.

@@MotorcyclesOffroad got ya. Definitely looking forward to getting the Yoshi. Had one on my DRZ, Part of why I missed that bike.
@johnridesadv2512
2 жыл бұрын
The bike will definitely need an EFI controller or something if you're going to run it with a full pipe. Otherwise you're just making more noise, and it can also make the bike run worse. It usually will make it run hotter too. I'd never run a full pipe on any of these bikes unless I tuned it also. It's sort alike running a carbureted bike with a full pipe and not re-jetting the carb. Take a look at your header pipe when the bike gets hot.... I've seen poorly tuned bikes with glowing/red purple header pipes.
@MotorcyclesOffroad
2 жыл бұрын
@@johnridesadv2512 So you are right It could make you run leaner is some cases. But you also have to consider that you have an O2 sensor unlike a carb bike. If you keep the same intake it will also bottleneck the air from running leaning. with a different exhaust and the same intake a lot of times the bike will adjust as if it would a higher elevation. Also I do have a ECU flashed for high octane, intake and this exhaust, I just didnt make a video about it yet.

At that point it didnt change that I noticed but now im sure I lost some with my ECU.
I read that if you get the Thailand mapping on the ECU it helps with any over heating or lean condition.

Right now I am working on getting anew ECU. I havent noticed it heating more or running lean. I think mainly because I have kept the intake the same. So it cant draw extra air in despite it being more open in the exhaust.
Wow that is crazy expensive.. Here in Thailand you can buy that for $100

I heard the ones in Thailand are fake, this one literally just released. Ok I just check the Yoshimura-RD company is here in the us. I did see some "fake" pro circuit pipes on Ebay when I just got the bike. People said they were fake but I dont know because I have never seen them in person.

@@MotorcyclesOffroad How can you know if they are fake? Are they made in plastic?

For me I dont know if they are fake or not. I was told that the ones on ebay from Thailand were fake but idk for sure. But I dont think you have the Yoshimura pipes there is what I was saying. But yeah it does cost a lot, but sounds good and seems to have giving more performance already without a new ECU.

Hi Dee-Shaya, can you share a link to buy it?
I just don't get why anyone would want to buy one of these? For sound? The performance is negligible at best.... usually a placebo effect, especially with no chip. Sure weight reduction can help, but maybe lose the weight elsewhere if you catch my drift.

The performance is huge with an aftermarket ECU and intake like I have.
Contact me if you want your stock ECU flashed.

I was in contact with someone but we had talked about a whole new ECU fitting my exact criteria. Exchange for, I was going to make a video for it to throw business their way.

$1000 and no burn guard on the pipe.😂😂😂

What do you mean, what is $1,000?
After studying these single cylinder engines and the way they work with exhaust systems…. NEVER change your exhaust system. It can destroy your engine many years earlier.

Well we always buy exhaust from reputable sources like Yoshimura. They spend time on R&D for the system.

Don’t be that guy, motocross has been swapping pipes for years. Over 20k miles on a drz with full yoshi. Those are chances I’m willing to take to not suffocate the motor and sound awful while doing it

@@loganclark312 yes, you can swap exhaust systems, but it doesn’t help power, only makes more noise, and likely reduces power. These single cylinder engines do not work at all like a four stroke motor. The exhaust is designed by the motor manufacturer to bring the fuel into the cylinder using the reflected energy from the exhaust. It takes quit a bit of engineering to get it to work just right. Throwing a different exhaust on a single cylinder bike is a bad idea. It might work… but it is just as likely, in fact more likely not to work as designed.

@@thatguy6207 Are you describing a two stroke? This is a single cylinder four stroke engine. Even on a two stroke, aftermarket exhausts work very well, as long as they are as you say engineered to work just right. Which, from manufacturers like Yoshimura and Akarapovic, they are.
You know when you fill your tank you're getting about a liter and 1/2 of whatever grade gas the last person filled up with. That's what's left in the hose, it doesn't back flush. Feel free to look this up. So you're not really running 91 octane, just paying for it.
A little too loud for me. For as often as you’re at heavy throttle on these bikes. It has a bit of a Harley effect. A lot of noise that doesn’t move on quickly. Pretty annoying for pedestrians and neighbors. Gets tiresome to ride with as well. The Q4 would be a bit quieter.

Arrow has a full or slip on exhaust for the 300l that is de-cat but homologated for noise (ECE). And still you'll shave off 3kg or so
Way overpriced for what you get.,

... Please explain why. I am searching a full exhaust for a 2021 CRF 300 Rally. I have not modified the air box or did an ECU flash. If I do that, it would be later.
Will it melt the turn signal?
Nice

Hello, I am 230lbs. They are definitely soft. You can adjust preload but for heavy off-road anyway you look at it over 200lbs you are going to need suspension on 99% of bikes out there.

@@MotorcyclesOffroad havent rode for quite a few years. what rider weight do you think the suspension is ok for and wouldn't need a new shock? did you adjust your preload?

@@2012theraven the suspension is made for someone 160lbs or less but still works fine if you’re heavier. Very smooth on the road, off-road at high speeds you will probably want to consider a new suspension but that goes for most dualsports from the factory.
