    I am a new subscriber to you tube. I just recently bought a 2015 CRF250L. I haven't ridden a dirt bike in about 20 yrs. and when I saw the bike at the shop I was so impressed I had to have one. It's kind of a long story but I used to have a 1988 XR 600R. The torque was unbelievable but it was too big in the tight trails. This bike is a great all-around bike. However, just like my 600 when it was new, the exhaust is very restricted. After watching your video on your fmf install with the EJK I decided that my bike needed the upgrades. I installed the full exhaust with the EJK and a K&N air filter. Holy cow what a difference!! I also got the 13 tooth front sprocket and that is just what it needed to finish the task. It's still no 600 but wow what a difference! I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to do your videos. They sold me on the Q4 and Mega bomb package. In one of your vids you mentioned that the bike in stock trim was "boring" to ride on the street. That is absolutely the best way to explain the difference between stock and modified. I couldn't be more happy with my CRF! It really is a great bike. I think it's a little more of a dirt bike than a street bike but that is exactly why I bought it! Thanks again for the vids and enjoy your bike! Jerry

    TheMissendenFlyer Hi I am having a blast with my bike. Such a fun bike to ride! I changed the front sprocket back to stock. After a few days of riding I think it takes away too much mph on the road. It would be better in tight trails but I ride to work everyday rain or shine.Just the other day I picked up a tail bag and absolutely love it. It fits perfect and looks great too. It's made by Wolfman luggage and it's the "wolf" tail bag. My buddy ordered the 'Peak" tail bag, which is a little smaller. They are really top of the line products. If you get a minute check 'em out. I'm sure they make something you might like for one of your bikes. Jerry

    Most install videos suck. Infact not alot of informative videos are any good. But your videos from the adventures to your tutorials are not only good but one of the reasons i bought my 250L. And definatly the drive to buy the FMF setup. Its in the mail now and this video has made me decide to do it myself and not the dealer. Even with warranty concerns. I cant see the dealer mounting up my EJK and being careful of my paint and what not. Ive watched this enuf times to do the install in my sleep. A+ videos. As always. And TMF,.. if you ever make up your own Vlogger decals at any point,. Let me know. Id be proud to sport your tag on my bike. Many thanks from across the drink.

    Not sure if anybody's mentioned it thus far, but in case it helps anybody here goes. When fitting the muffler white plastic heat shield, FMF actually supply a longer bolt to replace the one that came off (although this will still work). The thing to remember is to put the bolt in the reverse of how it came out, i.e. with the head of the bolt on the inside in the wheel arch and put the nut of the outside. This does away with the need to thread the bolt through and then carefully screw the heat shield to the metal bracket. This was taken from fmf's online instructions as I followed the video and thought it couldn't be right as pointed out by our host you cannot get to bolt the other way but by reversing it you can get a 12mm open ender on it and a socket on the inside with ease.

    Thank you for the helpful videos! I always take a peak at what you're up to on a project before making an attempt myself. I have the exact same exhaust, header, airbox mod, and EJK unit installed on my CRF - I was wondering if you've noticed quite a bit more exhaust and gasoline smell since installing everything. I used to be able to ride without the smell of exhaust sticking to my clothing, but not since installing the exhaust, header, and EJK unit. My EJK was pre-programmed from the factory for the specific modifications to the bike, but I think I may need to re-tune it and was just curious what your experience was. Thank you!

    +Gareth Jones Hi Gaz, I suppose technically you could have a problem with noise at MOT time but when I recently spoke to my MOT man on the subject he said that he had heard bikes with much louder exhausts and they hadn't failed....so make of that what you will! My CRF isn't quite due for an MOT yet but I'm not anticipating any problems. I regard these pipes as very suitable for the road, especially if you're in traffic, I do subscribe to the "loud pipes saves lives" brigade! Christ what a difference! A very relaxing video to watch that my friend - thank you! I went to local Honda dealer today to have a look and find out about price etc. Finding it difficult to get a test ride round these parts - did you test ride before buying? Is it worth a risk not having a test? Would you wholeheartedly recommend the bike? Sorry for all the questions! Thanks again - great video!

  • @TheMissendenFlyer

    Hey Crumble -Thanks for the kind words, great to have you along! Yes it is tricky to find a test ride, I rode the CRF250M which is a very similar bike on paper but actually feels quite different to ride (I have a test ride video on my channel if you're interested). I think the bike is stonking but as stock you'd hate it, the mods (exhaust in particular) make an otherwise anaemic bike into a funster machine. If you get a test ride you have to use your imagination on sound and performance as to what these things can be like. I got a good deal on mine (£4K for basically brand new by shopping around) so for that money I took the risk - and don't regret it one bit, over the last month I've ridden this by choice much more than my other bikes and I can honestly say I've enjoyed it more than my Street Triple R, my big GS and the Diavel I have been riding over the last week. Has to be your choice of course, but you can tell I'm a fan.....great little machine for light off-road fun. All the best mate, TMF.

    Thanks for the reply buddy! Really enjoying the channel and especially interested in the CRF vids. How do you find the standing up on the CRF? I had to buy bar risers for the Tiger 800 as I'm a tall bloke - you think I'll have any issues there? Seems the idea of getting the bike with a full Yoshi system from new might be the way to go then? Thanks again and keep the great vids coming!

  • @TheMissendenFlyer

    @TheMissendenFlyer

    9 жыл бұрын

    The Crumble Hi again, I find standing up on the CRF harder than on my GS because the pegs are a little farther forward of the centre of gravity - so I have to concentrate on being upright, where as on the big BMW the pegs are bang in the middle and you could stand up with no hands easy enough (not sure how this compares to your tiger). I suspect you would need risers, I'm not that tall and I find it a bit of a reach to the bars on the CRF standing up. The Yoshi would be preferable to the stock can but by far and a way the most popular pipe for these bikes is the FMF + the tuned header (either the megabomb like mine or powerbomb if you want the powerband higher up) - this + the EJK fuel controller will add almost a grand to your purchase cost :0( but an essential addition if you don't want a lame bike! Loads of stuff on KZread about this and a great online community for the CRF....lots of research to be done! Enjoy......TMF

    Hi TMF I've been looking into getting FMF q4 with mega bomb header and 13tooth front sprocket with EJK fuel controller. I've spoken to several bike dealers and there technicians and they don't think that the EJK is that important as when the exhaust is fitted they will remap through the ECU. What are your thoughts on this?

  • @TheMissendenFlyer

    Hi Lukas - you buy the header pipe and end can separately. FMF make 2 headers (power bomb and mega bomb) and various end cans - I went for the Q4. IIRC you can't use the Honda header with the FMF end can so you do need to buy both - I'm not 100% sure though so best drop FMF a note and ask. Either way the exhaust transforms the bike though, a must do! All the best - TMF

I noticed a small drop in fuel economy - between 5-10% I'd say (but generally speaking these machines a re very frugal anyway so to my mind that didn't matter given the boost in performance).
