Just to share! I own a 2017 City CVT top end model and it's doing just fine. Belonging to Hyderabad, family had recently driven to Chikmaglur (karnataka) a distance of around 700 kms which includes ghat roads as well. Super smooth, silent performance has been the hallmark of the car's efficiency! Speaking of ground clearance, it's not a big problem provided one knows how to navigate bad roads which were plenty enroute to / in Karnataka. It scored 10 on 10👌 Never regretted buying the 4th generation with killer looks, led lamps etc., Yes, the infotainment system (digi pad) is a disappointment and had been replaced once by the dealer (free of cost) when there were errors at play. Well, your video rekindled my good feel about my car and the negatives you spoke of are not that much damaging🙂Hopefully, did not bore you guys! Namaste🙏

The low end power/torque is deliberately kept that way to reduce fuel consumption. Which also makes the in gear acceleration slower. Especially in higher gears like 5th and 6th

Agree with most comments. Here is my 4+ years experience with Honda City Gen 4 Vx CVT (Petrol) Six worst things: 1) Hard suspension 2) Light body (gets damaged easily) 3) Road noise 4) CVT spoils the fun of this good engine. 5) No headrests for rear seats except ZX variant. 6) Rattles from dashboard and doors are common (unbelievable for a Honda but true,). Six Good things: 1) Ease of driving 2) smooth and rev happy Engine 3) No failures 4) Leg room 5) comfortable seating 6) Looks (subjective).

Upgrade the suspension, look up ARC suspension for Honda City. I was going to sell my 2016 VX CVT model because of the hard suspension but now I am satisfied with the performance. It now makes bad roads bearable.

Thanks for video bro. I recently booked one, and all issues you mentioned are fine by me except headlight. I was pondering over changing headlights but was not sure to what, so thanks for suggestion. Just one question, if i change headlights immediately, does my warranty get affected?

Warranty will not be void as the led bulb I have suggested is plug and play and you can do it yourself..please check the description. If i get requests I can make a video on the installation process

After watching this I took 4th generation honda city CVT ZX top end model.... Excellent car.

I own Honda City 2018 CVT Petrol. The noise insulation is poor, suspension is too stiff and you feel all irregularities on the road. There are also rattles from dashboard and doors. I found out at the service centre that this problem is common to this gen and they have been given a kit of packing to fix these rattles. The rattles reappear every few months after every 'fix', perhaps because of the stiff and short travel suspension. The worst portion is Honda never approached me for product feedback. Question: any solution for the suspension apart from tyres?

@@studiostreet7042 There is no ideal solution . I reduced pressure in all tyres by 2 psi and went for 195/55R16 tyres (wider by 10mm). Continental CC6. There was a marginal improvement. The steering became harder and fuel efficiency reduced accordingly though.

I am 6.1 and I can say I have a very nice view while driving. You can easily push the seat downwards.

How's the third generation models? 2012 model ?

Honda Amaze can never be compared to Honda City even if it's a 3rd or 4th generation. Ivtec 1.5 is the best. I don't know whether you own City or not , you are saying it's an underpowered car at the low revs. It's ridiculous!

Check your Clutch plates, don't replace flywheel it's expensive only clutch plates... Then decarbonisation your engine using HHO gas or something like liquy Molly...

If you go for clutch plate replacement... You need to replace clutch plate, pressure plate and clutch bearing... Costs around 12500 rupees ...

Infotainment is actually ' bekaar' . My city's system has started showing glitches and snag after 4.5 yrs use. Also, the screen has got foggy . Except this and thin tyres it's a wonderful drivers car. Just change the infotainment system/ speakers and put on 185 x65 tyres ( in 15" versions) and it's ready to go

Honda city 4th generation is also a human being for me so is natural it has some niggles but vtech makes me forget those niggles

As engineers, Honda build quality was a big no-no!! But, watching the horrible strategy of the 'opposition', is it sensible to opt for a second hand 4th generation Honda City? Yes, It's not a Tank! But, engine is Good, As per this video, Ground clearance may be less,but it's not 'stiff'( pre-2018-19 models), other 'things' doesn't really matter for me!! A true sedan indeed!!

I reduce the rear(coile spring) tyre pressure for better comfort on bumpy roads. Choose Micheline(comfort) at rear Bridgestone(rugged) at front and roll tyre side wise. If roads are bad, u hav to upraise and look for potholes in all sedans. But the moment ur on proper road, its a game changer. Forget, Beamers, Mercs & Audi's or even VW's .......... Honda is the only VFM Brand that gives fun & Reliability together. U dam can redline a Honda NA engine without breaking ur bank Avoid 5th gen city. Its GDI (oil dilution problem), Huh...... thanks for no turbos, so it too has that orgasmic induction noise like the 4th gen: ........... Just keenly listen to it, and compare with the rest brands, and feel the difference.......

Honda City 4th Generation is having a better Engine so definitely a more performance oriented car. If you want mileage and compact dimensions then go for Honda Amaze.

Both are fine. Amaze is 3 years newer than Honda City 4th gen and so might have slightly more modern features. I test drove it recently and i felt the petrol 1.2L engine is underpowered and boring. Other than that, the car is perfectly fine. If they gave a 3 cyl 1L turbo engine in amaze, i would choose amaze over city 4th gen, especially since I can get cvt in amaze. I dont mind the small size. There is enough space inside amaze and the bootspace is more than any compact suv. But because of the engine, I would choose city 4th gen. There is also the option of amaze diesel which has good power and torque and is comparable to a 1.5L petrol engine. and if your state doesn't have many restrictions, you can go for that over city if you don't want to get city because it's a 2014 model with a 2017 face lift. I don't know what the resale valu eof city 4th gen will be in 10-15 years

The honda cars are superb, no doubt. That too city is an execellent machine to use in both city and highway purposes. The thing that really hurts is the service that honda provides. Service of honda has gone so horroundous and these people have become so imbecile and heartless, is the only thing why honda is failing in India.

If u know something about IC engineering & Car dynamics,.......u would only go for 4th gen over 5th gen Pros :- Better aerodynamics reducing air drag ie more performance & fuel efficiency, Reliable PFI injection system (not GDI), Better power to weight ratio, Stiff suspension and its direct impact on steering response in turns, Better fuel efficiency with less weight, Better ride comfort on 15 " due to more rubber, Well engineered Chassis, giving amazing dynamics while cornering (proven design) All engineering when acts together makes a perfect car !! Honda City, generation after generating its becoming more & more a passenger car from a sports car !! (Yes, I mean a "Reliable Sports Car ", Now Honda's USP is no more "Sporty") U want an unreliable Sports car? go for VW or any Germans Cons (No pros without corns) :- No 6th gear :- (better fuel efficiency above 100km/hr, BTW remember 4th gen got less air drag & less weight) Stiff suspension :- If roads are bad , suspension ll tell u to slow down, BTW that act increase suspension wear/life(Tyre alignment life too) , and stiff can hold more weight than soft, and won't hit the speed breakers like soft. Sum up :- You may get the same fuel efficiency & performance frm 5th gen as 4th gen, but not same "reliability" , ie GDI vs PFI Huh yes u get better ride comfort due to soft suspension, if so why would u buy a sedan? Buy an SUV with bigger tyres and springs !!!, that make ride even better.
