Honda CBR900RR Fireblade | First Edition (stock restoration 3/3)
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
The final installment of my journey to restore the 1992 CBR900RR N SC28 to her former glory. From the painting process to assembly, spit, polish... and of course having some fun getting a final photo-shoot of her under the full moon. No jokes, the cayotes were going crazy.
I've also finally managed to get my grubby little paws on an RC51, look out... the sneaky beast might make an appearance after all.

Absolutely fantastic.. I am in the process of restoring back to as close to new my ‘99 SC33.. I managed to find some oh so difficult to find oe fairing panels that haven’t been cracked, plastic welded, badly sprayed, scratched or covered in dubious stickers.. Literally also just bought some oe Honda bar grips too.. that win feeling👌🏼 Love your VF1000R too.. I had a VF400F & VF500FII back in the day.. V4 power

Beautiful restoration! Just finished restoring my VTR1000 SP-1. On the look-out for a first year FireBlade now, i have a black/grey 1992 in the scope, its done 65000km and could use some TLC. These are such classics now, so i should pull the trigger really ;)

Espero y entiendas mi comentario ya que no se escribir en ingles. Admiro mucho tu trabajo, y seria genial que si pudieras decirme que programa usas para editar tus videos. 👌👌👌
Did you end up rebuilding the rear shock or just replacing it? I've been looking for resources on rebuilding the rear shock for my sc28 and haven't had a lot of luck finding any
@counter-steer
3 жыл бұрын
Hey Kevin. The rear shock’s just about the only thing that didn’t need fixing... have you tried CMSNL for parts?
you clear coated the decals? would you do that again or just buy gloss decals instead (if available)
@counter-steer
Жыл бұрын
When working without OEM decals I prefer to clearcoat... you don't want non weather resistant vinyl (especially if printed on) exposed to the elements. I used to spray bikes for a living in the late 90's and always used to clear the hell out of everything so didn't give it a second thought.
Love it ❤ I also have black RR-N which I'm getting back to original. It's already almost 100k km driven but still technically in good condition. It's fairings also need new decals and those look really good, couldn't find H to the O with google, could you point me to the correct direction?

Awesome sauce! Stick this in ebay and it should show up “CBR 900RR Fireblade 1992 full decals set sc28 stickers graphics 893 pattern logo” It’s a guy in Bulgaria. Note that these don’t have the same shading as the OEM decals, only solid color.
@counter-steer

Where did you get the sticker set? I have a 1995 that i have been wanting to restore, but don’t know where to get the original stickers! Thanks
@counter-steer

Hey Thomas, I got it from a guy in Bulgaria that sells 'em on Ebay. He's got full sets for each year and color scheme, SC28 and SC33. Stick "Honda CBR 900RR Fireblade decals set sc28" in ebay and it'll come up.

The trilogy impressed me! Such skillful editing and even better mechanical work. The SC28 is soooo beautiful. I wish I had the skills, time and money to do the same. I only have the RC36/1. I am sure you have been asked this question many times before, but how much money did you sink into that Honda? Again, its beeeeaaaautiiiful! I will watch the RC51 video now. Greetings from Berlin!

Thanks Chriss, appreciate it! I refuse to count the money (and time) spent on my bikes, I’m pretty sure that would take the fun out of it ;) A man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do, you only live once & besides, I’ll never sell it. I love the 1st gen RC36, great bikes… maybe one day. Need more space! Say “hi” to Berlin for me, I haven’t been there in 20 years but have fond memories as a kid. Hmmmm the smell of auspuff ;)

Exacto Mundo dude... labour of love. 919 should be much cheaper to rebuild with parts more easily available. Can't really say I like to keep track of the $100 dollar bills I had to smoke to get her shiny again, that would make it much less fun. More than the bike cost me to buy, that's for sure.
