I saw lots of reviews re: the trident and the cb650r, mostly vids from UK and USA. They mentioned the usable performance of these bikes and suggested the trident had what you needed where it mattered, ie lower down the rev range. I ended up with the trident, no regrets! It shoots up to 80 in no time at all, which is 10 mph above our national speed limit. And 80 mph on a naked bike is enough for me, so the Honda's higher revs are not required. It's also lighter and feels very flickable. But good concise review, it comes down to personal choice, they are both excellent bikes.

It's a nice review but I can't agree with the fact that the Honda is a better bike. The Triumph is lighter, more refined, has a better display, has better tires. Add the quick-shifter and the gear shifting is on another level (it will still cost much less than the Honda). Yes, the Honda will give you the big bike feel, but that shouldn't be a factor to buy a bike. And if those things are a factor then a first-time big bike buyer would like to be associated with a brand like Triumph rather than a Honda (even though the CB650R might feel slightly more premium than the Trident 660).

Great review but I have to say I don’t think showcasing them on grass was the best idea, the trident looks bigger here and the tall grass kind of takes away from the bikes

In all the foreign markets the Honda seems to be a tough sell, but in the UK it's priced so keenly, it's a proper bargain.

It is the time we the citizens of India need to protest against the hike of fuel prices and we need a game changer politician who care for unemployment and living BPL.

True that...and the day isn't far when Splendor n Star city would be coined superbikes, where the parameter would be mileage instead of power n performance.

You end up spending the same amount of money on a CB 650R as you would on a Kawasaki Z900 which is way more powerful and value for money. Then the Trident, good bike...cheaper than CB but is a lakh more expensive that Kawasaki N650 which itself is a great bike but lacks a sweet noise. The struggle is real for a first-big-bike buyer :|

@@Spacenigga69 The difference between 65 bhp and 80 bhp on Indian roads is not a huge difference. But I agree on the engine note. The Kawasaki just doesn't sound exciting.

i own a triumph Trident and i did test drive the Honda..!!! if you are lesser than 5.8 and weight around 70-85kgs you wouldn't be able to handle the cbr it just too heavy and in indian traffic i would never buy it considering the heat, everything said Triumph is gem. Out here in canadian conditions i see a lot of new buyers choosing Triumph ,its more stable in higher speeds and the confidence you get while breaking hard is enough of a reason to just blindly buy..!!

Z900 comes to a on road price of 11 lakh in mumbai. The cb650r comes to 10 lakhs on road and the trident on road is 8.42 lakhs. Think this alone sums it up
